came
from
long
ago,
and
this
is
the
beginning.

blockchain,

so

was
always
telling
me
about
defy
and
where
this

going

go

before
he
even

where

this
is
the
same
presentation
I
gave

first
nft
presentation
in
2018.
It's
really
just
trying
to
explain
what
it
is
that
we're
doing
so.
Probably
a
lot
more
people
know
about
nfts
now,
but
I'll
still
give
you
the
basic
introduction
for
people
that
don't
know,
and
maybe
we'll
learn
something
okay,
so
everybody
knows
what
tokens
are
because
of
erc20
and
a
lot
of
the
innovation,
slash,
fundraising,
icos,
we
don't
even
use
the
word
ico
anymore.
It
used
to
be
like
the
word
2017.

You
know
shout
outs
to
sending
bitcoin
to
an
address
to
get
erc20
tokens
to
another
address,
and
this
is
what
everybody
was
used
to,
and
so
we're
coming
out
with
this
new
concept
of
things
that
are
obviously
unique.
Non-Fungible
non-fungible
was
a
whole
word
that
we
had
to
pick
or
a
lot
of
choices
and
creative
choices
on
what
that
word
could
have
been,
and
erc20
market
back
in
the
day
was
billions
of
dollars.

Just
such
a
huge
number
and
as
an
inspiration
we
looked
at,
you
know
how
does
that
work
and
then,
where
we're
going
to
go
now.
Obviously
the
main
feature
of
erc20
is
that
there's
these
tokens
they're
created
at
some
institution,
I'm
just
explaining
to
you
what
blockchain
is
everybody
gets
it
by
now,
but
we
want
to
review
these
real
basic
concepts
because
they
really
inspire
and
enable
what
it
is
that
we
want
to
do
so
for
tokens
you're,
giving
them
to
somebody,
and
then
that
person
is
giving
it
to
somebody
else.

This
is
actually
a
huge
innovation
versus
how
the
world
usually
works
for
large
finance
in
finance.
This
arrow
here
is
actually
cleared
through
an
entity.
So
if
you're
in
the
united
states
and
you're
writing
a
check
to
somebody
in
canada
or,
let's
say
you're
going
to
send
it
to
europe
and
it's
going
to
be
denominated
in
dollars,
even
if
you're
sending
cash,
the
cash
is
really
just
a
claim
on
money
in
the
us
federal
reserve,
and
so
in
the
treasury.

mean
sorry,
the
federal
reserve,
and
so
the
treasury
has
rules
on
who
can
send
money
to
whom
and
if
you're,
not
a
terrorist.
The
money
just
clears
if
you're,
not
a
person
of
interest
money's,
just
clearing
and
you're
not
really
going
through
a
lot
of
headache
with
this.
But
there
are
many
rules
in
this
system,
and
so
the
money
is
actually
going
to
throw
back
through
the
central
bank
or
a
lot
of
intermediaries
that
you
might
not
see,
even
if
you're
sending
paper
you're
giving
paper
from
one
person
to
another.

These
are
projects,
I'm
sure
everybody's,
aware
of
let's
get
over
that
and
then
the
erc
721
market.
This
huge
market
just
came
out
the
total
value
of
three
companies:
total
value
of
24
million
dollars,
just
a
huge
market.
This
is
in
2018
april,
dominated
mostly
by
pictures
of
cats.
Now
it
is
dominated
by
pictures
of
other
things,
and
it
is
way
more
than
24
million
dollars.
So
I
don't
need
to
sell
you
on
how
large
this
market
is
right.

Now,
open
c
has
already
displaced,
sotheby's
and
christie's
as
the
number
one
art
auction
house
on
earth.
So
in
four
years
or
three
years,
they've
gone
from
zero
to
replacing
100
year
old
institutions
that
are
just
arbiters
of
culture
in
the
human
race
I
mean
it's
just
sotheby's
and
christie's
have
done
in
hundreds
of
years,
open
seas,
just
bulldoze
them
and
we're
only
three
years
into
this
so
yeah
a
few
years
ago,
I
was
talking
about
how
big
this
is
at
24
million
dollars.

know
right
now.
Artwork
has
really
been
the
limelight,
but
just
putting
some
other
ideas
out
there
and
we
can
get
more
into
them.

a
pioneer
use
case.
They

the
paper

I'm

lead
author.
They
they're,
but
they're.
The
originator
dieter
is
a
is
the
grandfather
of
nft,
I'm
just

lead
author
of
the
standard
and
we've
got
other
games.
There's
gonna
be
a
lot
more
games
coming.

also

This
is
a
use
case.
That's
not
as
interesting
press
release
wise.
Unfortunately,
in
crypto
there's
a
lot
of
control.
There's
a
lot
of
media
control.
I
try
to
really
be
careful
about
what
I'm
reading,
because
99
of
it
is
press
releases,
even
if
it's
news,
so
things
related
to
identity
or
hard
assets
where
people
promoting
it,
don't
get
a
percentage
you're
not
going
to
see
in
the
news
as
much
but
they're
super
important
microsoft.
Work
is
working
on
digital
distributed
identities,
so
they
have
that
project.

Nist
has
put
out
a
paper
that
really
explains
a
lot
of
these
different
use.
Cases
for
tokens
and
they're
really
going
to
power
a
lot
of
the
future.
A
lot
of
things
and
I've
got
some
very
fun
use
cases
to
share
too
and
physical
goods.
So
this
is
custody
of
a
physical
good
that
it
could
be
artwork.
It
could
be.
It
could
be
your
coat
when
you
go
to
the
bar
and
you
give
your
coat
to
somebody
and
you
get
a
ticket.
That's
an
nft,
so
nfts
are
not
really
just
four
years
old.

is
a
token,
and
here
is
a
physical
thing.
There's
a
different
way
to
do
it,
so
you
can
trade
a
token
for
a
thing.
This
is
what
this
is
code
check.
This
is
called
a
custody
token.
This
is
a
security.
This
represents

thing.
So
when
you
give
your
code
to
somebody,
you
get
a
token
and
then
here
you
return
the
token
and
get
your
code
back.

nfts
all

lives

we
didn't
know
it.
So
this
is
a
code
check,
but
the
other
model
here
is
where
the
token
follows
the
asset,
so
it
can
go
with
it.
One
example

and
this

a
client

client

working
with
is
breitling
watches.

if
you
buy
a
watch
and
it's
a
breitling,
then
you
get
an
nft
every
time,
and
so,
when
you
sell
the
watch,
you
would
transfer
the
token
with
the
watch
as
a
token
as
a
certificate
of
authenticity.

has
already
been
on
the
front
page
of
probably
every
newspaper
that's
printed.

this
is
crazy.
The
people
sale

about
as
much
of
the
front
page
as
the
moon
landing.
So
we're
not
going
to
surpass
that
there's
a
lot
of
hype.
The
hype
is
good.
The
hype
is
bad,
it's

of
things,
but
nft
has
really
gotten
enough
hype
and
I
don't
think
we're
going
to
double
it.
They're
not
going
to
make
the
front
page
of
new
york
times
two
pages.

there's
not
like
100
growth
potential
in
hype
for
nft,
which
is
fine,
because
the
future
use
cases
are
not
going
to
have
as
much
hype
as
we
get
into
government,
coveted
use
cases
I'll
share.

just
need
covet
test
results
that
you
can
trust
powered
by
nft
or
whatever
other
technology.

it

I'm
thinking
about
it,
because
this
is
how
I
was
thinking
about
it

how
I

thinking
about

When
I
got
involved
in
this
space,
I
was
studying
two
use
cases
very
hard.

One
of
them
is
supply
chain,
so
pharma
specifically,
how
does
pharma
pharma
has
a
very
complicated
supply
chain,
and
this
is
what
I'm
thinking
about
in
2018,
I'm
thinking
10
years
in
the
future,
because
it
takes
about
10
years
to
change
the
supply
chain
technology.
So
the
one
is
supply
chain
supply
chain
is
really
complicated
and
they
care
about
authenticity
of
products
and
tracking
things.
Nfc
solves
these
problems,
so
as
we're
standardizing
nft,
we
want
to
make
sure
that
it's
going
to
support
these
use
cases.

second
use
case
I
studied
was
licensing
of
intellectual
property,
so
I
went
to
licensing
expo.
I
saw
a
pre-screener
for
toy
story
4
before
it
came
out,
they're
trying
to
sell
you
the
characters,
disney's
like
all
right,
here's,
the
new
characters
who
wants
to
license
them.
This
is
intellectual
property.
This
is
going
to
be
track
digitally
in
the
future,
and
nfts
is
a
great
use
case
for
this.
So
what
we're
building
now
we,
you
know,
you
me
everybody
as
we're
building
networks,
technology,
marketplaces
wallets.

want

have
these
use
cases
in
mind
because
there's
a
lot
more
growth
and
a
lot
more
ground
to
cover
here.
So
I
want

look
out.

want
to
look
at
just
artwork.
Artwork's
been
had
a
very
good
run,
but
our
next
10
10x
growth
is
going
to
be
with
companies
like
sap.

was
a
client
of
a
client
that

nfts

enterprise,
use
cases,
microsoft,
microsoft,
xbox
uses
nfts,
not
a
lot
of
front-page
coverage,
but
there's
just
very
large
use
cases
out
there

this
is
my
inspiration
for
getting
involved
and
we're
really
trying
to
build
a
lot
of
things
here,
and
so
I
just
want
to
stay,
grounded
on.

does
human

that
we

support

features
missing

to
support

goal

not
to
make
the
best
possible
nft
standard.
The
goal
was
to
demonstrate
for
the
future
how
standards
should
be
made
and
how
we
should
inspire
the
community
to
build
the
other
things
that
are
missing.
You
know
this
is
just
a
piece
of
paper
right.
We
need
marketplaces,
wallets
tokens,
buyers
and
sellers.

look
at
this
as
as
a
publication
to
not
just
make
nfts
work,
but
also
to
make
eip
work,
because
I'm
vested
in
the
eip
process
and
I've
been
unofficially
a
reviewer
for
a
lot
of
nft

eips
here.

want
a
high
standard
for
these
interfaces
and
stan
and
specifications
so
that
we
can
use
them,
and
that
definitely
includes
the
rc165.
