update

software

the
first
such
update
that
was
led

brings

rc1.
This
is
the
first
release
candidate
of
the
oop.
Sorry,
this
is
the
first
release
candidate
of
the
3.1
series,
and
this
is
a
special
series
because
it's
the
first,
you
know
community-led
release
of
the
esi
eosi
code
and
this
so
mandel,
I
guess,
is
the
is
the
name
you
being
used
for
the
3.1
release
series.

So
that's
that's
one
of
the
motivations
for
getting
this
in
as
well
and
then,
as
far
as
see
so
that
was
the
protocol,
there's
also
a
get
block
number,
but
that
was
mostly
the
protocol
stuff,
but
then
there's
a
lot
of
interesting
new
features
in
in
this
release
as
well.

few
different
new
api,
endpoints
related
to
transaction
lifecycle,
stuff
or
just
transaction
management
stuff.
So
there's
a
new
send
transaction
apis
and
transaction
two,
and
this
has
some
improvements
over
the
previous
version.

particular,
it
returns
a
transaction
trace
on
failure,
so
the
previous
one
would
return
just
the
exception,
but
not
the
transaction
trade,
so
you
wouldn't.
Actually,
the
client
would
not
be
able
to
know
where
things
went
wrong
like
which
action
actually
failed.
I
get
and
get
the
context
of
where
it
failed
in
transaction.
If
you
have
a
more
sophisticated
transaction,
it'd
be
very
helpful
to
have
the
full
trace
so
calling
this
endpoint
to
check
to
see
whether
the
transaction
actually
failed
on
that
api
node
or
not.

find
this
very
handy
and
then
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
other
things,
there's
also
a
pruning
feature
for
block
logins
and
ship
or
state
history
plug-in
logs,
so
that
you
can
configure
this
to
hold
a
certain
number
of
blocks
and
it'll
automatically
prune
the
old
entries
so
that
you
can
save
this
disk
space.
It
uses
a
mechanism
to
actually
reduce
the
disk
space,
even
though,
if
you
look
on
the
file
size,
it's
a
sparse
file.

if
you
look
at
the
file
size,
it
may
not
seem
like
it's
changing
it's
like
growing
in
file
size,
but
it's
actually
kind
of
removing
blocks
of
data
from
this
to
actually
save
space.
So
there's,
I
think,
there's
probably
improvements.
That'll
come
along
with
that
feature
in
the
future.

but
as
it
is
right
now,
it's
it
can
enable
operators
to
reduce
their
disk
usage
if
they
only
care
to
maintain.

development
work

handed
it
off
sometime,
late
february
or
early
april,
and
then
at
that
point
the
enf
engineers
and
oci
engineers
kind
of
took
over.

would
say
about
the
same
timeline
that
already
said
early

started

soon

contracted
to
make
it

stemmed

needed
solutions
in
place
for
when
odd
network
events
like

robust
tools

paper
kind
of
put
some
ideas
out
there.

the

make

stable

test

features
added

close

be
merged

mainnet

late
september
for

mandel
consensus

So
if
any
of
that's
incorrect,

first
rc
cut
off
is
where
we

bug,
fixing
stabilization,

expect
there

multiple

the

forking

scared
by
that

that

blockchain

there's
soft
forking
hard
working

is
whenever
there's
a
change
to
the
protocol,

the

the
node
operators

upgrade
their
binaries

continue
syncing

necessarily
mean
that
there
is
a
fork
of
the
community
or
a
fork
of
the
token,
and
eos
has
had
many
hard
forks.

can
actually

think
you

like
blocks
io
and
look
up.

vertical
features
and
when
they're
activated,
if
you
want
to
see
when
those
have
happened

no
one's
kind
of

forks

is
expected

no

features

being
introduced,

cryptographic
primitives,

feature

holding
back
both
the
