Description
Fargo Public Schools - Board of Education Meeting - Live Broadcast - November 27, 2018
A
A
C
C
C
They
want
to
mention
that
they've
begun
their
first
year
of
building
compassionate
schools,
training,
focusing
on
being
a
trauma
sensitive
school
this
year
throughout
the
process,
Madison
has
made
sure
all
staff,
including
paraprofessionals,
receive
that
PD.
The
staff
is
focused
on
providing
the
respectful
environment
that
enables
students
and
staff
to
build
caring
relationships,
self-regulate,
their
emotions
and
build
resilience.
So
that's
Madison's
report,
Centennial
Elementary
is
in
the
house.
C
Okay,
on
October
5th,
the
students
held
a
walkathon
and
raised
a
grand
total
of
twenty
eight
thousand
four
hundred
and
twenty-seven
dollars.
I
double-checked
that
the
comma
was
in
the
right
spot
the
money
going
to
the
PTO
to
help
support
a
variety
of
school-wide
activities
and
programs
and
at
fall
parent-teacher
conferences.
They
had
a
tendency
of
ninety
six
percent
at
Centennial
and
then
we've
got
Eagles
you've
heard
from
Eagles
already
ones
this
year
they
got
stuff
going
on.
C
All
the
time
Eagles
in
the
house,
fifth
graders
and
first
graders-
walked
to
touch
mark
to
celebrate
the
fifth
fiftieth
day
of
school.
They
had
a
sock,
hop
and
root.
Beer
floats
with
the
residents
and
I'm
gonna
slide
the
microphone
over
to
Heather,
guys
Picard,
who
is
a
member
of
the
Executive
Board
and
she's
gonna,
do
a
little
south
break.
D
Well,
FBA
just
raised
thirty
six
hundred
and
forty
five
dollars
for
the
big
Christmas
Wish
through
our
Jean
fundraiser,
south
being
the
top
with
three
hundred
eighty
four
dollars
and
a
little
shout
out
for
our
ap.
We
were
most
qualifying
scores,
so
we
ended
up
a
big
chunk
of
money
to
a
bunch
of
our
students
a
couple
weeks
ago
now
so.
E
So
I
mean
you'll
get
your
task
force,
update
reports
from
the
board
liaisons,
but
just
a
quick
update
on
where
we
are
with
the
progression
of
each
of
the
task
force's.
Our
LRE
behavior
task
force
is
going
to
have
one
additional
meeting.
We
did
wrap
up
our
early
childhood
task
force
earlier
this
week,
so
I
think
where
we
ended
that
meeting
I'm.
Sorry,
we
ended
that
task
force.
One
meeting
short
so
we're
still
netting
even
I,
would
say
that
were
okay
and
Safety
Committee
meets
for
their
final
meeting
later
this
week.
E
So
we
look
forward
to
being
able
to
provide
recommendations
to
the
board
in
the
near
future.
Dress
code,
I
know,
there's
been
some
conversations
around
Fargo
public
schools
and
the
dress
code
policy
as
well.
We
are
working
with
students
and
administrators
at
this
point
to
look
at
just
some
of
our
dress
code
policy
languages
and
if
there
are
potential
changes,
but
we
would
not
make
any
changes
to
dress
code
or
any
of
our
policies
for
the
2018-2019
school
years.
E
That's
already
started,
so
we
are
taking
the
process
because
we
know
that
we
have
until
the
start
of
the
next
school
year
if
we
were
to
roll
anything.
So
just
procedurally,
we
are
meeting
with
students
to
get
their
feedback
on
our
current
policy,
we're
meeting
with
administrators
and
then
based
on
the
feedback
we
have
from
that.
We
will
engage
parents
to
get
their
feedback
as
well
and
see
if
there
are
any
policy
revisions
needed
what
that
could
look
like
for
Fargo
public
schools
in
the
future.
E
Mental
health
supports
in
the
schools
as
well,
and
they
will
be
a
demonstration
school
for
every
other
school
within
the
state
of
North
Dakota
for
what
they
do
for
not
only
our
children
in
the
Jefferson
community,
but
their
families
as
well
and
everyone
else
in
the
community.
So
we
really
look
forward
to
this
planning
year
of
executing
that
grant
and
what
that
will
look
like
in
the
future
for
those
students
and
those
families
in
that
community.
E
G
E
From
the
North
Dakota
full
service,
Community
Schools
consortium
and
there's
a
lot
of
entities
so
I'm
going
to
read
them
all
so
that
comprises
of
path,
mid
Dakota
and
Missouri,
River
education,
cooperative
and
the
south
education
east-southeast
education
cooperative.
They
all
got
together
and
applied
for
the
grant
from
the
US
Department
of
federal
education.
It
was
a
two
point:
five
million
dollar
grant
for
three
different
schools
to
be
demonstration,
schools
and
three
pilot
schools.
E
A
H
Thank
you
very
much
just
want
to
share
a
little
bit
information
around
the
innovation
Academy
Fargo
public
schools
has
a
team
of
seven
who
are
going
to
a
series
of
seven
different
meetings
over
the
course
of
this
school
year.
The
members
are
myself:
Troy
Cody
our
principal
at
Davies,
high
school
Lindsey,
C,
League
language
arts
teacher
at
Davies,
Shane
Martin,
our
principal
at
Ben,
Franklin,
Sara,
kites,
a
science
teacher
at
Ben,
Franklin,
Sara
Schaefer,
our
principal
at
Bennett,
Elementary
and
Julia
Warner
who's,
our
gifted
talented
teacher
at
Bennett
Elementary.
H
So
that
team
is
joining
approximately
twelve
other
districts,
really
in
a
year-long
exploration
around
what
is
innovation
and
what
are
some
examples
of
that,
either
in
the
state
of
North
Dakota
or
from
around
the
country,
and
really
with
the
plan
in
mind,
to
do
two
things,
and
the
first
would
be
to
do
some
brainstorming
and
action
planning
on
what
we
could
do
here
in
the
Fargo
public
schools.
But
then
to
is
how
can
we
help
the
rest
of
the
state
as
this
continues
and
the
next
round
of
12
or
so
districts
want
additional
training?
H
So
how
can
we
continue
it
and
share
with
our
neighbors?
The
task
force
is
led
by
David
flowers,
but
the
facilitator
is
dr.:
Scott
McCloud.
He
is
a
professor
in
Colorado,
so
he
is
the
one
who's
really
facilitating
and
leading
the
conversations.
Our
first
meeting,
which
happened,
October
9th,
was
really
foundational
setting
and
the
topic
was
our
world
is
changing.
H
Are
we
ready
so
it
was
really
to
get
us
thinking
about
all
the
different
changes
that
are
happening
around
us
and
to
give
multiple
array
of
examples
from
autonomous
cars
to
what
we've
heard
recently
in
the
news
around
the
grant
that
was
given
to
emerging
Prairie
about
the
potential
of
autonomous
farming
and
all
of
the
things
that
are
happening
in
the
world
to
change.
So
are
we
ready
to
prepare
that
next
group
of
students?
H
The
next
set
of
meetings
then,
will
centered
on
personalized
learning,
blended,
learning,
social-emotional
learning,
and
then
how
do
we
wrap
all
those
together
to
talk
about?
Where
are
we
currently
in
Fargo
and
the
other
districts?
Who
are
a
part
of
that
collaborative?
And
what
does
that
mean?
As
we
build
some
of
those
action
plans,
one
of
the
things
that
we
are
doing
is
as
a
team
we're
reading
this
text.
It's
the
new
book
for
I
Ted,
denture
Smith,
it's
what
schools
should
be.
H
The
name
might
be
familiar
to
you
because
he
is
the
documentary
filmmaker
who
actually
created
the
film
most
likely
to
succeed.
It
was
a
film
that
was
shown
here
in
Fargo,
and
there
was
a
panel
afterwards
and
during
his
visit
here.
He
then
came
back
and
did
a
TEDx
or
was
part
of
that
and
really
went
around
the
country.
H
Looking
for
examples
of
innovation
and
I'll
pass
my
book
around
just
so
you
can
see
it,
but
I
would
like
to
draw
your
attention
to
page
28
in
which
Ben
Franklin
middle
school
is
highlighted
in
the
text
for
some
of
the
project-based
learning
opportunities
that
we've
provided
our
students
there,
and
that
is
then
provided
in
many
of
our
other
schools.
But
it's
nice
to
see
that
we
are
getting
some
recognition
for
what
we're
currently
doing
some
innovation
practices.
H
So
I'll
just
pass
that
around
just
to
wrap
up
that
that
last
day
on
November
9th
and
what
we
did
when
we
talked
around.
What
does
it
mean
to
be
a
connected
learner?
After
we
looked
at
that
difference
between
analog
and
digital
connectedness,
we
talked
about
how
technology
really
changes,
how
we
can
connect
with
the
outside
the
world
and
different
examples
of
what
that
looks
like
outside
of
school.
H
So
we
looked
at
multiple
examples
of
that
from
things
like
academia.edu,
which
I
kind
of
like
it's
research
papers
that
are
available,
that
you
can
share
and
talk
about
to
Goodreads,
which
allows
people
to
come
together
to
talk
about
literature
and
have
some
nice
deep,
rich
conversations
to
even
things
that
might
not
be
directly
related
to
school,
like
sites,
for
example
like
PatientsLikeMe,
which
allow
people
who
have
certain
symptoms
or
diseases
to
come
together
and
shared
stories
to
connect
them.
So
they
don't
see
feel
so
isolated.
H
We
then
went
into
the
connectedness
on
the
inside
of
school
and
a
more
direct
connection
there.
So
we
talked
about
how
we
can
use
crowdsourcing
and
have
multiple
people
build
pieces
of
knowledge,
and
we
have
examples
of
that
in
our
school
system
now
and
we
use
Microsoft,
365
or
Google
Docs,
where
we
all
share
a
similar
document,
but
we're
all
adding
to
it
and
we're
all
building
that
knowledge
together
to
other
sites
like
which
I
thought
was
really
kind
of
neat.
H
One
called
the
90-second
newberry
in
which
it's
a
national
filmmaking
competition
for
students
that,
in
ninety
I
said
minutes
90
seconds
they
show
and
tell
the
entire
Newbury
award-winning
novel,
so
its
students
acting
its
students
directing
its
students,
making
the
film
two
different
blogs
that
are
available
for
students
who
have
interests
in
math
or
science
or
a
particular
curricular
area,
all
the
way
to
virtual
field
trips.
So
really,
the
second
meeting
of
the
innovation
task
force
was
to
set
some
foundation
as
we
continued
into
personal
learning
and
blended
learning
and
finally,
into
social-emotional
learning.
H
I
think
the
team
will
continue
the
wonderful,
rich
conversations
that
we've
had
and
that
will
lead
us
into
that
action
plan,
step
that,
obviously
we
would
bring
back
to
the
district.
So
I'm
very
happy
and
I
know
everyone
on
the
committee
is
very
happy
that
we
have
this
opportunity
to
be
part
of
the
Academy,
and
so
thank
you
for
your
support
of
that
and
it's
been
a
good
first,
two
meetings,
I'm
looking
forward
to
the
next
five.
A
H
A
A
F
Good
past
meetings
on
November
14th,
we
had
a
City
PTA
citywide
PTA.
Meeting
lots
of
good
information
was
shared
there.
They
were
very
interested
in
the
school
districts
legislative
agenda
as
well
as
the
task
force.
Worse
work,
so
I
as
a
school
board
liaison
provided
that
report
on
November
20th,
the
LRE
bee
task
force
met
and,
as
mr.
Gandhi
said,
the
group
decided
we
need
at
least
one
more
meeting,
so
a
calendar
pull
doodle
poll
was
sent
to
task
force
members,
so
that
meeting
is
to
be
determined.
F
F
It's
a
brown
bag,
lunch
or
brown
bag
lunch
so
bring
your
own
food
or
eat
before
you
come
other
than
that.
Some
future
meetings
are
into
the
next
the
next
year
preparing
for
our
legislative
crossover
breakfast
in
Bismarck.
So
there
will
be
a
lot
of
activity
between
now
and
then
back
to
the
task
force
reports.
G
F
40
plus
so
a
lot
of
people
interested
in
this
discussion
and
a
lot
of
professionals
there,
but
the
first
page
is
a
Likert
scale
consensus
which,
as
we
all
know,
is
from
the
strongly
disagree
ranging
all
the
way
up
to
the
strongly
agree.
So
the
second
page
is
the
are:
are
the
results
of
the
forced
choice,
exercise
which
is
a
very
useful
exercise,
and
the
third
page
is
the
combination
of
the
two
not
trying
to
give
either
choice
process
any
priorities.
So
this
is
how
the
order
was
determined
through
consensus,
which
is
by
our
norms.
F
80%
of
the
group
is
considered
consensus,
so
some
of
the
top
five
credible
credit
important
attributes
come
into
academic
goals
transitions.
You
can
see
environmental
culture
and
climate
social-emotional
learning
and
down
the
list
so
I'm
providing
these.
In
addition
to
the
minutes,
just
because
I
think
it's
important
for
board
members
to
know
what
the
committee
is,
what
their
ranking
and
what
they're
discussing
good
process.
So
far
more
soon,
we
don't
know
what
the
next
meeting
will
bring
so,
but
I'm
excited
to
be
there
in
there.
There
are
a
lot
of
very
qualified,
passionate
people.
B
There
were
no
hanging
chads.
We
had
about
83%
consensus,
the
first
go-around
we
talked
a
little
bit
and
did
a
little
modification
to
one
of
them,
and
one
person
changed
their
vote
and
another
person
changed
their
vote.
So
the
second
time
we
came
out
at
the
exact
same
consensus
level,
so
there
will
be
a
total
of
six
attributes
that
are
going
to
be
recommended
as
critical
attributes
and
I.
Think.
B
B
From
the
committee's
perspective,
the
board
hears
is
quality,
ongoing
professional
development
for
all
staff
involved,
not
just
teachers,
but
all
staff
number
two
was
to
make
sure
the
children
in
our
early
special
ed
program,
have
the
ability
to
interact,
interact
with
typical,
emerging
peers
of
the
same
age,
and
there
were
a
number
of
other
things
that
I
think
will
surface
as
recommendations
for
the
board's
consideration.
I
want
to
personally
thank
the
administration.
B
I
thought
they
did
a
tremendous
job
coordinating
and
putting
it
together
and
I
thought
we
had
a
really
good
group
of
community
members,
many
of
whom
are
staff
as
well
in
our
district.
That
really
gave
some
good
thought
to
the
process.
So
obviously,
when
these
recommendations
come
to
us
as
a
board,
we
may
polish
them
a
little
bit
more
and
ultimately,
they'll
be
going
on
to
the
next
task
force
for
a
second
semester
on
space
utilization
throughout
the
entire
district.
B
That's
already
involved
with
our
early
childhood
special
ed
program.
I
think
uniformly
were
voting
for
one
location
because
they
kind
of
missed
that
from
when
we
had
that
before
so
someplace
between
one
and
maybe
two
or
three
sites
is
probably
where
this
committee
down,
but
obviously
that'll,
really
be
a
function
for
the
nest
next
taskforce
to
figure
out
and
ultimately
for
us
to
figure
out
the
finances
behind
it.
A
F
B
B
B
Our
our
charge
is
to
address
special
ad,
but
one
of
the
major
recommendations
of
an
attribute
was
this
interaction
with
I
guess
non
special
ed
peers,
I
I,
don't
want
to
call
them
normal,
because
special
ed
students
are
not
abnormal
they're
just
special,
and
that
may
require
us
to
do
some
outside
of
the
box
thinking
and
maybe
in
partnering,
because
technically
it's
not
something.
We
can
use
our
resource
dollars
to
do,
but
we
can
certainly
partner
and
find
maybe
approaches
that
make
that
happen.
But
yeah
there
were
a
lot
of
Advocates
in
that
room.
B
That
thing
we've
got
it
as
a
community,
not
the
school
district
they're,
not
pointing
fingers
at
us
and
need
to
address
the
pre-k
needs
of
all
all
the
kids
in
our
community
and
a
couple
of
our
recommendations.
Kind
of
touch
on
that.
But
we
really
directed
it
back
to
special
ad.
As
we
made
the
final
cut
scores
on
what
attributes
to
move
forward
to
the
board.
F
Request
when
we
start
to
receive
these
reports,
I
think
it
would
be
beneficial
for
board
members
to
have
some
background
on
the
Kaleidoscope
program
that
happened
many
years
ago
with
special
ed
and
some
of
the
reasons
why
that
did
not
survive,
because
that
was
clearly
a
special
edie
preschool
program,
so
no
reason
to
repeat
some
of
the
mistakes
or
some
of
the
things
that
happen
in
the
past,
because
we
want
this
to
survive
long
term.
So
that
would
be
my
request.
Thank
you.
Jim
Thank.
A
You
Robin
anyone
else
have
questions.
I
was
at
the
meeting
last
evening,
observing
and
in
regard
just
to
piggyback
on
Robin.
Your
question
I
think
Jim
what
you
were
saying.
Maybe
some
of
this
will
go
back
for
a
GAC,
a
bit
of
a
GAC
conversation,
because
it
became
apparent
in
the
conversation
that
you
know.
A
J
Do
have
an
update
on
the
Fargo
yueshen
Youth
Initiative.
We
are
doing
a
planning
session
on
December
16th
and
we
are
going
to
be
planning
out
the
rest
of
the
year
and
the
events
and
stuff
that
they
do
have
coming
up
and
then
I
do
plan
on
attending
the
Lewis
and
Clark
PTA
meeting
and
centennial
in
December.
That's
what
I
have
thank
you,
perfect
bran
I.
K
L
Thank
You
president
Knudsen.
Let's
see
you
start
looking
back,
first
I
was
able
to
attend
on
a
personal
level,
the
Ben
Franklin
Orchestra,
my
daughter,
performed
in
it
back
on
the
15th
and
she's
in
the
seventh
grade.
They
performed.
They
completely
filled
the
Ben
Franklin
stage
with
stringed
instruments.
They
all
cleared.
L
The
eighth
grade
got
on,
and
this
was
a
while
all
after
the
sixth
grade
had
done
something
similar
the
hour
before
and
it's
just
astounding
what
a
wonderful
program
we
have
there
afterwards
I
was
talking
to
the
principal,
and
he
mentioned
that
Ben
Franklin
was
recognized
by
the
international
music
camp
this
past
year
for
their
participation
as
a
school
and
attend
a
music
camp
and
I'm
very
proud.
That
was
a
district
able
to
offer
that
opportunity.
But
I
know
it's
not
unique
to
Ben
Franklin
I
know
all
of
our
middle
schools.
L
L
Absolutely
it
was
this
performances
by
high
school
kids
like
just
really
really
impressive
on
the
19th
again
just
kind
of
a
personal
thing
in
our
schools.
He
was
at
the
parent-teacher
conferences
that
Clare
Barton
for
my
son
and
then
went
over
to
Hawthorn
to
talk
to
his
specialist
he's
working
with
over
there
and
just
standing
in
the
halls
and
watching
how
the
teachers
and
their
specialists
are
interacting
with
their
kids.
You
can
see
the
love
and
the
pride
that
all
of
our
teachers,
all
of
our
staff,
have
for
all
of
our
kids
in
our
district.
L
At
that
level.
It's
really
nice
to
see.
Looking
forward
to
tomorrow,
night
attending
the
Cass
County
Career
Technical
Education
Center's
board
an
advisory
meeting.
That's
gonna
go
over
at
Shannon
West
Fargo,
looking
forward
to
an
update
on
what's
happening
with
the
potential
for
the
Career
Academy
in
town
here
on
the
28th
I
will
be
doing
my
final
school
board
liaison
visit
to
Horace
Mann
Roosevelt,
really
looking
forward
to
this.
It's
their
joint
assembly,
they're
gonna,
have
everybody
over
at
Roosevelt
as
doing
their
celebration
of
citizenship
and
so
looking
forward
to
reporting
on
that.
L
At
our
next
board
meeting
and
the
next
week
on
the
6th
of
December
at
noon
here
in
the
boardroom,
the
negotiations
committee
will
be
meeting.
You
might
have
noticed
on
the
consent
agenda.
We
did
recognize
the
FAA
as
a
representative
organized,
and
so
we
need
to
be
getting
prepared
for
our
first
meeting
early
in
the
new
year.
That
is
my
report.
Thank
you.
Thank.
M
Okay,
so
both
health
insurance
committee
in
the
communications
committee
met
since
our
last
meeting,
so
I'll
just
share
a
couple
of
the
highlights
here.
Health
insurance
committee
met
today
and
spent
some
time
talking
about
the
history
and
really
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
John
Nelson
for
pulling
together
and
going
through
all
of
the
history
back
to
1993,
and
then
some
it
was
pretty
impressive.
M
We
spent
some
time
talking
about
the
goals
and
the
strategic
plan
for
the
committee
and
really
I
guess
one
of
the
goals
that
we
highlighted
was
that
you
know
it's
the
committee's
or
the
board's
job,
to
continue
to
find
avenues
of
input
for
students
and
staff
and
parents
and
the
community,
and
then
highlighting
the
community
highlighted
some
current
examples
of
this
being
Ellery
behavior
task
force,
the
early
childhood
task
force,
the
safety
committee
and
the
student
luncheons
that
currently
are
happening
with
mr.
Gandhi.
M
The
recommendation
that
came
from
that
discussion
is
that
students
would
be
invited
to
participate
as
well
in
the
building
usage
and
facility
task
force.
We
also
took
a
few
minutes
to
talk
about
or
well
actually
mr.
Gandhi
took
some
time,
I
don't
know.
It
was
probably
more
than
a
few
minutes
to
review
the
communication
audit
that
we
participated
in
several
years
back
and
just
to
share
some
of
his
thoughts
about
that,
and
our
future
meeting
we
have
on
here
is
for
December
17th
at
noon.
M
But
please
did
we
keep
that
meeting,
no
I
didn't
think
so
so
we
moved
it
to
January.
But
then,
as
I
was
looking
at,
this
I
thought
our
community
forum
is
January
10th.
So
do
we
need
to
reconsider
having
a
December
communications
committee
meeting
and
we
can
talk
about
that
or
do
a
survey
but
I
just
thought.
I
would
put
that
out
there
before
I
say
that
it's
for
sure
not
happening
in
December
and
that's
it
I
also
attended
the
LRE
behavior
task.
M
The
last
task
force
as
well
as
a
couple
other
meetings
as
an
observer
and
I
will
just
say
that
I
appreciate
the
hard
work
that
that
committee
is
doing
and
the
attendance
of
those
folks
to
be
there.
It's
a
big
commitment
and
I
really
appreciate
that
they
decided
to
do
at
least
one
more
meeting,
because
it's
it's
some
heavy
lifting
that
they're
doing
and
there's
some
really
good
conversations
happening,
and
they
really
needed
another
meeting
too
to
continue
that.
So
that's
it!
That's
why
Thanks.
A
Thank
you,
David
passed
around
the
president's
report.
I'll
give
you
a
little
info
on
what
I've
been
up
to
lately.
I
have
been
heavy
and
getting
a
little
heavier
on
the
liaison
visits.
So
I
was
at
Woodrow
yesterday
for
about
four
hours.
It
was
a
fabulous
way
to
start
the
week,
nothing
better
than
spending
time
in
that
building,
because
there's
so
much
good
stuff
that
happens
there.
So
I
received
an
opportunity
to
I
have
a
brief
overview
of
the
orientation
that
is
given
every
Monday
I.
Think
it's
at
3
p.m.
A
I
could
be
wrong
on
that
time.
But
I
know
it's
every
Monday
afternoon
for
students
interested
in
attending
Woodrow
and
learned
that,
and
that's
about
an
hour
presentation
and
learned
that
every
student
that
I
ultimately
attends
Woodrow
must
attend
that
orientation
so
that
the
students
have
a
good
understanding
of
what
that
school
has
to
offer
them.
That
was
wonderful,
and
also
when
I
was
there.
A
I
spent
a
little
bit
of
time
and
I
believe
it's
what's
called
the
family
room
and
I
had
no
idea
that
we
have
this
room
over
there,
but
it
is
a
room
so
that
mothers
with
babies
about
up
to
a
year
old
or
a
little
bit
older,
are
able
to
stay
in
school.
It's
really
a
classroom,
but
it
has
a
lot
of
what
would
be
needed
to
take
care
of
a
child
with
strollers
and
little
mats.
A
And
you
know
we
know
what
needs
to
be
taken
for
taking
care
of
for
a
young
young
baby,
and
so
we
have
a
professional
in
the
room
that
is
able
to
assist
taking
care
of
the
baby.
At
the
time
there
was
one
mother
with
her
baby
in
the
room,
and
then
the
mother
is
able
to
participate
in
her
education
right
in
that
room
and
then
also
take
care
of
her
baby.
A
It
kind
of
reminded
me
of
working
at
home,
but
any
rate
I
just
I
did
not
know
that
we
had
that
opportunity
in
the
district,
and
it
just
made
me
happy
to
see
that
and
tomorrow,
I
am
going
to
McKinley
and
I
will
be
there.
Also
on
Friday
last
week,
I
accompanied
fifth
graders
from
Longfellow
over
to
the
Dorothy
Day
house.
A
That
house
that
provides
shelter
for
men
in
our
community
and
the
students
had
really
great
questions
about
homelessness
and
when
asked
about
the
reasons
why
persons
are
homeless,
for
one
of
the
students
give
the
answer
of
because
there's
not
enough
affordable
housing.
That
was
just
amazing
to
me.
I
mean
just
knocked
it.
A
I
also
was
there
and
I
did
end
up
getting
standing
up
and
and
sharing
a
bit
about
our
our
Indian
ed
program
that
we
collaborate
with
West
Fargo
on
because
there
there
did
get
to
be
a
sense,
I
thought
from
at
least
some
in
the
room
that
just
wasn't
the
awareness,
that
of
any
of
what
we
do
in
the
school
district
and
in
West
Fargo
in
regard
to
Native,
American
education,
so
I
shared
that
we
have
I
shared
just
a
bit.
I
shared.
A
We
have
a
program
I
shared
if
individuals
have
questions
or
would
like
more
information
feel
free
to
John.
Was
there
so
either
contact
John
or
myself
to
be
a
liaison
to
then
them?
You
know,
connect
them
to
the
district.
If
they'd
like
to
learn
more
on
that
and
I
attended
the
day
prior
to
that,
a
restorative
justice
conference
that
lutheran
Social
Services
helped
to
put
on
it
was
over
at
Morehead
State,
and
there
are
a
couple
of
this.
A
A
We
go
okay,
thank
you.
It
doesn't
say
this
on
here.
It
doesn't
give
her
a
title,
but
Tamra
gave
a
wonderful
presentation
of
many
many
statistics
that
are
tied
to
again
birth
to
prison
school
to
Prison,
Pipeline
and
rupak.
Has
her
presentation
I
believe
if
individuals
are,
if,
if
we're
interested
in
receiving
that
presentation,
just
for
our
own
education,
I'm
sure
he'd
be
happy
to
share
that
out
and
the
other
kind
of
a
closing
session
was
we
titled?
We
are
all
connected
restorative
practices
and
the
school
community,
and
when
I
had
my
one-on-one
with
mr.
A
Yesterday
I
talked
about
this
conference
and-
and
they
said
well
yeah-
we
kind
of
practice
that
every
day
with
a
problem-solving
human
but
in
a
different
way,
so
I
any
rate.
It
was
such
valuable
information
also
attended
the
Communications
Committee
meeting
things
for
the
report.
Governance
meets
Thursday,
7:30
a.m.
this
Thursday
and
if
we
haven't
turned
in
our
school
liaison
homework,
I
know
I
still
have
mine
to
turn
in
that's
due
on
the
4th,
and
we
have
some
monitoring
homework
due
on
the
6th
I.
A
Suppose
anne-marie
will
be
sending
information
out
to
us
on
that
very
soon
and
Brian
and
his
wife
have
volunteered
to
host
a
holiday
gathering
for
us.
We
usually
do
something.
Every
year
I
know
there
was
a
doodle
poll
sent
out.
So
if
you
haven't
had
a
chance
to
respond
to
that,
please
do
so.
Thank
you
for
your
generosity,
December
14th
reminder
the
aspen
group
training,
I'm
really
hoping
we
can
all
be
we.
We
scheduled
that
date
quite
some
time
ago,
based
on
the
feedback
that
we
all
gave
in
terms
of
our
ability
to
attend.
A
So
if
there
are
any
questions
about,
you
know
an
inability
to
attend.
Just
please
please
work
on
making
that
a
priority
to
be
there
and
I.
If,
if
you
have
to
miss
anything
that
you
know
you're
able
to
be
there
for
the
most
of
the
day,
so
we
appreciate
your
taking
your
time
for
that
and
our
next
meeting
is
December
11th.
It's
the
same
day
that
there's
the
an
eggs
and
issues
meeting.
So
that's
my
report,
Robin
quick.
