Description
Fargo Public Schools - Board of Education Special Meeting - Live Broadcast - May 6, 2019
A
Good
afternoon
it
is
noon.
Monday,
May
6th,
the
Board
of
Education,
is
meeting
for
a
special
meeting
today
to
to
have
on
the
agenda
the
Lincoln
Elementary
office
remodel,
and
is
there
a
motion
for
approval
of
the
agenda
and
is
there
a
second
there's
been
a
motion
in
a
second
everyone
all
signify
by
saying
yes,
yeah
motion
passes.
Moving
on
to
item
4
award
of
bid,
Lincoln
Elementary
School
front
entrance
entrance
memo
92
Jim.
Would
you
like
to
take
it
from
here?
Please.
B
Yes,
sir,
thank
you.
We
took
this
the
planning
meeting
last
Friday
and
we
just
wanted
to
be
report
to
you
that
we're
asking
that
you
approve
the
bids
that
came
in
they
came
in
under
over
the
the
budget
that
was
prepared
earlier.
The
earlier
budget
was
six
hundred
eighty
nine
thousand
eight
hundred
fifty
eight
dollars
and
after
we
opened
the
bids,
the
total
price
came
in
at
eight
hundred
and
eighty
two
thousand
five
hundred
forty
nine
dollars
and
forty
four
cents.
B
That's
all
in
with
architect
fees,
construction
management,
FF&E,
contingency
general
conditions.
All
those
typical
costs
that
we
that
we
put
in
there
are
two
alternates
that
can
be
accepted
or
not.
One
is
as
we
got
into
the
building.
We
realized
that,
since
the
office
is
already
in
the
building
further,
it
would
probably
be
a
nice
accommodation
to
make
that
hallway
that
goes
perpendicular
to
the
office.
We
carpet
that.
B
Older
equipment
try
to
match
what's
20-some
years
old,
so
the
price
of
that
was
ten
thousand
seven
hundred
dollars
and
then
the
price
of
the
carpet
option
or
altered
number
one
is
eight
thousand
four
hundred
and
twenty
three
dollars
so
with
that
I
can
ask
any
questions.
I
do
have
with
me
the
architect
and
construction
manager,
Gertz
construction
manager,
dan
Kleist
back
there
and
then
also
Mike
Weber
from
AAPC,
the
architect
of
design.
So.
A
C
A
B
I
think
we
enlisted
Tim's
ear
from
server
to
just
like
what.
What
could
we
expect
for
costs
when
we
walked
around
a
building
talked
with
their
principal
and
some
of
the
office
staff
and
just
see
how
that
how
that
works?
You
know
and
what
what
they
would
like
to
see.
So
they
were
engaged
somewhat,
but
I
think
the
some
of
the
cost
overruns
were.
Definitely
it's
part
of
a
smaller
project
and
mobilization
costs
and
getting
contractors
there
to
do
a
little
bit
of
concrete
versus
a
lot
to
price
per
square
foot
grows.
B
So
I
think
that
was
a
surprise
then
also
there
was
some
drainie
in
front.
Of
course
it
was
November
December
when
we
were
walking
through
there.
So
there
was
some
stuff
under
the
feet
of
snow
that
were
there
that
nobody
really
realized
that
until
we
started
digging
into
it
and
and
seeing
how
big
the
footings
had
to
be,
they
got
very
very
close
to
some
drain
tile
that
wasn't
appropriate
to
put
there,
so
we
had
to
actually
reroute
some
of
the
drain
tile.
B
If
you
remember,
oh,
maybe
six,
seven
years
ago,
we
had
a
drainage
problem
in
the
basement.
There
we
have
it
put
some
drain
tile
around
the
school.
The
tunnels
had
some
water
in
and
we
had
some
issues
there,
so
we
don't
want
to
lose
that
we
want
to
make
sure
we
routed
that
to
keep
that
tunnel
dry,
so
that
was
part
of
some
of
the
cost
overruns.
I
think
that
I
can
identify
here.
