A
Okay,
thank
you.
Agenda's
approved
next
we'll
move
on
to
the
recognition
of
the
audience.
At
this
time.
The
board
will
hear
comments
from
the
public.
We
ask
that
each
speaker
who
has
signed
up
to
address
the
board
State
their
name
and
home
school
district
for
the
record
speakers
must
refrain
from
using
this
form
to
criticize
or
complain
about
a
specific
employee
or
student
by
name.
Vulgar
or
profane
language
will
not
be
tolerated.
The
board
is
interested
in
your
comments
and
will
listen
carefully,
but
is
not
obligated
to
respond
or
debate
issues
in
this
forum.
A
This
evening,
four
speakers
have
signed
up
to
address
the
board.
Each
speaker
will
be
allotted
a
maximum
of
three
minutes
upon
conclusion
of
the
allotted
time.
A
chime
will
sound
and
the
speaker
is
asked
to
conclude
if
necessary.
A
final
chime
will
sound
15
seconds
later,
signifying
the
end
of
the
speaker's
time
at
the
podium.
I
will
now
now
call
our
first
speaker
to
the
podium
who
is
al-shut.
A
C
Good
evening
my
name
is
Al:
Shep
I
live
in
North
Fargo
I
currently
have
students
at
North,
High,
Ben,
Franklin
and
Washington
Elementary,
my
wife
and
I
this
week,
starting
our
18th
year
with
students
at
wash
with
in
the
Fargo
Public
Schools,
and
we
still
have
one
that'll
probably
take
us
through.
So
we've
been
here
almost
30
years,
we'll
have
kids
in
Florida
public
schools.
C
Wherever
that
a
lot
of
people
go,
these
things
and
they're
upset
and
they
scream
and
they
holler,
and
the
one
thing
that
I
do
for
my
kids
every
year
before
they
ever
go
to
school,
is
that
I
pray
for
them
and
I
just
felt
led
that
I
would
like
to
pray,
say
a
prayer
over
you
guys
and
over
the
schools.
If
you
it's
okay
with
you,
there's
no
objection,
then
I'll
go
dear
Lord.
We
pray
for
the
leadership
of
Florida
Public
Schools.
We
ask
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them
this
coming
school
year.
C
We
ask
that
you
would
give
them
wisdom
and
Guidance
with
all
the
decisions
that
they
faced
this
year.
We
pray
for
all
the
school
administrators
throughout
Fargo,
Public
Schools.
We
ask
that
you
would
watch
out
for
them
and
protect
them.
We
asked
for
guidance
and
wisdom
for
all
the
decisions
that
they
are
faced
with
each
and
every
day
at
their
school
buildings
that
impact
the
staff
and
teachers
and
students
in
their
buildings.
We
pray
for
all
the
teachers
that
work
for
Fargo,
Public
Schools.
We
ask
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them.
C
We
pray
that
you
would
would
lead
them
and
guide
them
daily,
as
they
teach
the
students
in
their
classrooms.
We
pray
that
peace,
love
and
joy
would
abound
in
their
classrooms.
We
pray
for
the
our
sped
teachers
throughout
Public
Schools.
We
ask
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them.
We
pray
that
you
would
lead
them
and
guide
them
as
they
work
with
students
that
need
extra
help.
We
pray
that
peace
and
joy
and
love
what
also
abound
in
their
classrooms.
C
C
We
pray
for
all
the
staff
from
public
school
buildings
throughout
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them
and
give
them
guidance
as
they
interact
with
students
each
and
every
day.
We
pray
for
our
public
employees
all
throughout
the
district
that
you'd
watch
and
protect
them,
and
all
that
they
do
to
help
Federal
schools.
C
We
pray
for
our
parents
and
our
Guardians
of
the
students
of
attend
Florida
public
schools
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them,
that
their
homes
would
be
safe
and
that
you
would
their
homes
would
be
a
place
of
peace
and
joy
and
love.
We
pray
for
our
students
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
them.
We
pray
that
you'd
give
them
wisdom
and
guidance
as
they
make
choices
daily
that
impact
their
future.
We
pray
that
you
would
would
be
with
them
and
fill
them
with
peace
and
joy
and
love
this
coming
school
year
and
Lord.
C
We
just
pray
over
our
schools
in
general
Lord
that
you
would
watch
and
protect
over
them
from
any
violence
that
would
come
outside
from
outside
the
school
system.
One.
We
pray
that
this
would
be
a
year.
That
would
be
like
no
other,
that
good
would
come
from
every
aspect
of
it
Lord
and
that
you,
and
through
that
Lord
it
would
be
one
that
would
always
be
remembered
in
closing,
may
the
Lord
bless
and
keep
you
the
Lord
make
his
face,
shine
upon
you
and
give
be
gracious
to
you.
F
Well,
I
hope
you
all
enjoyed
my
vacation
as
much
as
I
did
I
know
that
Paul
sent
his
sent.
My
regards
and
I
found
that
quite
humorous
when
I
watched
back
I'm
a
little
disappointed,
I
didn't
get
to
be
here
for
the
preliminary
budget
meeting.
F
I
distinctly
remember
on
more
than
one
occasion
that
we
that
there
was
discussion
had
by
this
board
about
funding
positions
with
the
Esser
dollars
and
the
concern
was
well.
What
do
we
do
after
the
user
dollars
go
away?
Well,
those
of
us
who've
seen
a
lot
figured
that
oh
they'll,
probably
just
built
the
taxpayer
after
the
user
dollars
go
away
and
lo.
C
F
F
Now,
I,
don't
think
that
we'd
be
compliant
if
we're
using
the
emotional
skewed
stats
of
the
Trevor
Project
to
be
making
administrative
decisions,
but
speaking
of
administrative
decisions,
I
was
also
reviewing
memo.
32.
F
And
all
of
the
conversation
around
it
about
informing
parents
about
things
and
the
laws
that
you've
talked
about
not
following,
if
you're
not
telling
the
parents,
are
you
also
not
telling
the
state?
Which
means?
Are
you
misrecording
data
and
falsifying
records.
G
Good
evening
my
name
is
Cheryl
biller
I'm,
a
taxpayer
in
the
Fargo
Public
School
District,
and
a
fierce
advocate
for
public
education.
I
live
near
Fargo,
South
I
am
not
a
mom,
but
I
am
a
volunteer
with
the
Fargo-Moorhead
local
group
of
Moms,
Demand,
Action
and
I'm
here
this
evening
to
share
some
information
with
you
and
to
make
a
request
that
you
would
take
one
courageous
step
to
implement
a
proven
solution
to
reduce
gun
violence
in
our
community
hear
the
words
of
those
impacted
by
gun
violence
in
the
U.S.
G
In
a
little
over
six
minutes,
17
of
our
friends
were
taken
from
us,
15
were
injured
and
everyone
absolutely
everyone
in
the
Douglas
Community
was
forever
altered.
Emma
Gonzalez,
Parkland,
Survivor
I'm,
tired
of
being
scared
of
sending
my
child
to
school,
said
my
friend
Mackenzie,
who
is
a
parent
of
a
West
Fargo
Public
School
student.
G
My
friend
Shayna,
who
teaches
high
school
here,
says
every
day
after
opening
my
classroom
door,
I
promptly
relock
it
considering
the
possibility
today
might
be
the
day
a
shooter
comes
to
my
school
and
my
friend
who's.
A
first
grader
in
Morehead
said
when
the
shooter
comes
to
my
school
I
hope
we
are
in
the
library,
because
there
are
lots
of
good
hiding
places
there.
G
G
We
are
requesting
that
you
present
a
postcard
size
card
that
explains
these
five
steps
called
be
smart
to
every
student
in
your
schools
at
least
once
a
year.
That's
all
just
send
these
materials
home
with
your
kids.
There
is
more
that
we
can
do.
We
have
a
program
that
goes
with
this
or
a
presentation.
Rather,
that
goes
with
this
or
you
could
add
a
digital
version
to
Communications,
but
really
the
first
step
is
just
sending
this
material
home
with
the
kids.
G
H
This
organization
is
to
keep
everyone
safe.
So
please
do
consider
her
request
to
educate
our
community
about
safe
gun
storage.
The
organization
does
offer
free
gun
locks
and
I
did
lock
up
a
couple
of
ours.
Just
take
some
pictures
of
them
just
to
demonstrate.
If
anybody
has
questions,
but
thank
you
so
much
for
your
time
and
for
all
you
do
for
our
kids.
A
J
J
As
for
for
a
couple
of
business
items,
the
superintendent
and
I
had
a
chance
to
meet
I
think
I've
reported
on
that
prior
to
this,
and
our
goal
was
to
talk
about
the
district
committees.
That's
a
provision
that
is
a
required
meeting
between
the
two
of
us
in
the
contract.
J
A
couple
of
those
discussions
were
sort
of
directed
to
some
other
cabinet
members
that
they
would
be
more
appropriate
with
so
I've
been
working
today
to
get
some
of
those
scheduled
and
looking
forward
to
having
those
meetings
to
follow
up
on
the
meeting
that
I
had
with
Dr
Gandhi.
J
Additionally,
this
week
as
teachers
go
through
professional
development,
part
of
the
contract
provides
provision
for
two
half
days
of
professional
practice,
meaning
teachers
will
have
at
least
two
half
days
to
do
whatever
it
is
that
they
need
to
do
to
get
their
classrooms
ready
for
students
to
arrive
and
to
prepare
things
like
materials
or
that
first
day's
lesson
plan
or
the
first
week.
Perhaps
if
they're
able
to
really
put
their
their
time
to
use
I
think
many
teachers
would
be
very
glad
to
share
how
they
put
that
time
to
use
and
if
you're
in
buildings.
J
That
could
be
a
good
question.
If
you
see
a
teacher
around
to
to
ask
them
about
that,
those
four
hours
really
eight
hours,
two
half
days
of
professional
practice,
time
many
teachers,
my
middle
school
colleagues,
are
at
back
to
school
night
right
now,
and
so
hopefully
a
lot
of
parents
and
families
are
with
their
children
at
back
to
school
night.
Others
have
that
on
Thursday
and
I've
heard
at
least
the
high
school
doing
it
on
Wednesday
night.
J
So,
as
we
step
into
a
new
school
year,
the
FEA
looks
forward
to
getting
back
to
some
sense
of
regular
order,
and
part
of
that
will
mean
probably
before
we
all
come
together
in
this
format.
For
us,
it
would
mean
getting
together
with
our
building
reps,
who
provide
some
leadership
in
each
building
and
getting
together
with
our
executive
board
that
provides
some
leadership
across
the
district,
so
those
are
some
things
kind
of
on
the
plate
of
FEA
leadership
here
in
the
near
future.
K
Yeah
as
a
grant
reference,
you
know
our
teachers
are
back
this
week
and
it's
professional
development
week,
so
it
is
exciting,
as
we
gear
up
for
accepting
and
welcoming
all
of
our
students
that
come
in
on
Monday,
we
are,
we
did
decide
through
through
the
board
and
through
governance,
so
we
will
do
enrollment
updates
as
well
through
the
superintendent
reports
and
just
like
last
week.
I
will
hand
it
over
to
Missy
who's
more.
On
top
of
it.
L
So
when
we
look
at
so
every
Monday,
we
take
a
look
at
how
enrollments
changed.
August
is
our
most
fluctuation
week
to
week,
so
we
have
gained
probably
about
200
students
from
last
week
in
our
system,
as
people
are
finishing
up
their
registrations,
so
our
registration,
total
district
is
11
345.
As
of
today
and
last
year,
as
of
September
1st,
we
were
at
11,
389
and
RSP
is
predicting
us
to
be
at
11
437.
So
we're
very
close
to
our
RSP
thought.
L
Elementary
is
at
5214,
which
is
probably
where
you
have
the
largest
gain
of
registrations
being
taken
in,
and
so
we're
up
123
registrations
from
last
week,
as
we
are
looking
at
things,
middle
schools
at
2555,
which
is
actually
just
almost
similar
to
last
week,
and
the
high
schools
at
3000
576,
which
is
up
one
from
last
week.
So
it
does
show
you,
as
the
students
are
in
our
system
longer
and
things
the
registration
flips
over
is
is
a
little
easier.
L
One
thing
that
we
really
monitor
is
kindergarten
right
now,
with
we
still
have
a
few
kindergartners
finishing
up
their
enrollment,
but
including
them
we'd
be
at
776
and
last
year.
At
this
time
we
are
around
758
and
RSP
was
predicting
us
to
be
around
900,
and
so,
but
this
was
the
same
as
last
year.
Rsp
also
predicted
us
to
be
around
900..
L
We
have
to
remember
that
kindergarten
is
the
toughest
year
for
them
to
predict,
and
so
we
don't
have
they
do
the
best
they
can
with
all
the
the
data
we
can
provide
going
forward,
but
otherwise
I
find
that
they're
very
accurate
with
our
grade
levels
once
they're
in
our
system,
but
any
questions.
A
N
O
O
M
A
P
I
A
A
O
Yes,
so
what
I
want
to
understand
was
more
of
just
looking
at
the
how
much
it
would
cost
the
districts
for
for
one
years.
You
know
if
it's
a
two-step
I
totally
get
it,
but
I
just
want
to
understand,
because
there's
first
and
foremost
teachers,
you
know
pay
is
very
I
understand.
You
know
we
have
amazing
pay
here,
but
at
the
same
time
you
know
I'm
just
looking
at
it.
It's
like
it
doesn't
mix
in,
or
maybe
it
does
to
you
all.
But
for
me
that
is
a
you
concerned.
O
Ninety
dollar
per
an
hour
to
a
to
a
mental
health
provider
compared
to
what
we,
what
we
paying
our
teachers
and
then
at
the
same
time.
How
many
minutes
is
it?
Does
it
take
for
that
individual
for
one
hour
to
be
paid,
even
though
it
I
mean
I'm
talking
about
the
student
overall?
How
many
minutes
do
they
spend
with
each
student
when
they
come
in
to
for
their
for
the
help
that.
L
That
no,
no
it's
fine,
so
the
intent
of
this
is
that
we
are
hiring
a
company,
but
that
also
comes
it's
not
just
for
that
person
that
person's
doing
the
service,
but
they
also
have
other
pieces
and
other
people
that
would
provide
so
that
is
inclusive
the
charge
for
everyone
within
their
company
to
deliver
mental
health
therapy.
So
we
had
asked
for
for
level
C
and
our
Explorer
Academy
that
we
would
have
an
on-site
mental
health
therapist
that
could
deliver
a
small
group
and
individual
therapy.
L
L
O
You
I
I
appreciate
it.
The
reason
why
I'm
doing
this,
because
sometimes
you
know
parents
or
individuals
that
who
are
watching
us
live
will
not
understand.
Why
are
we
paying
these
mental
health
provider
this
much
of
money
besides,
it's
better
for
us
to
break
it
down
for
them,
so
they
understand
exactly
what
are
we
doing?
You
know
in
our
meetings
and
and
that
way
they
wouldn't
have
to
come
back
and
question
us.
Why
are
we
doing
this
and
that
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
they
understand?
Why
are
we
doing
this.
A
M
R
M
A
The
last
item-
okay,
sorry,
everybody,
okay,
then
we'll
move
on
to
business.
Holding
all
of
this
we'll
come
back
to
that,
because
we
have
an
approved
memo
number
33
yet,
but
our
first
item
of
business
that
was
on
the
agenda
comes
to
us
through
memo.
Number
32
and
I
would
just
look
to
rupak
to
introduce
that
four
of
us.
K
K
This
is
the
first
monitoring
of
strategic
initiative,
one
when
we
update
our
strategic
plan
refresh
in
the
next
couple
of
meetings
here
there
might
be
some
tweaks
that
we
decide
to
make,
or
even
looking
at
some
of
the
indicators
that
we're
looking
at,
we
may
have
some
conversations
around
that
we'll
also
obviously
build
on
the
conversations
that
we
have
today.
Just
so
you
know,
our
strategic
plan
is
a
living
document,
but
strategic
initiative.
K
One
is
you
know
our
core
mission
of
educating
and
empowering
all
students
to
succeed,
but
it's
also
important
to
know
that
at
this
time
of
year,
based
on
our
GP
calendar
of
when
we
monitor
this
will
always
be
a
lagging
indicator
as
well
for
some
of
the
data
that
we
take.
K
Look
at
so
a
lot
of
the
challenges
and
next
steps
that
Dr
Henson
and
her
team
have
identified
was
really
the
ongoing
work
of
the
entire
year,
but
feel
free
to
ask
her
why
she
picked
and
highlighted
some
of
the
data
points
that
they
did,
but
really
just
wanted
you
to
know
that
some
of
the
plans
have
already
been
put
in
place
on
areas
of
need
that
we
may
have
identified
as
well,
because
it's
such
a
lightning
indicator
as
well.
So
with
that
being
said,
I'll
hand
it
over
to
her.
S
We
looked
at
graduation
rate,
completion
rate,
Choice,
ready
data
and
student
literacy
performance
all,
but
well
all
of
that
information
is
in
North
Dakota
insights,
so
you
can
certainly
dig
in
to
even
further
I
did
pull
out
for
graduation
one
piece
of
data
kind
of
for
each
one,
but
so
it's
all
in
there
and
again
it
is
I,
would
say
it's
older
data
and
then,
as
we
look
at
this
here,
we're
looking
at
that
data,
but
also
looking
forward
to
the
future.
So
the
graduation
data,
we
pulled
both
graduation
data
and
completion
data.
S
That
I
was
really
pleased
with
the
completion
data
and
that's
really
that
students
up
to
the
age
of
22
are
looking
to
graduate,
and
you
know
taking
time
out
of
that
mix
for
students
sometimes
is
key,
so
that
data
was
there
Choice
ready.
We,
it
is
in
the
insights,
but
we
pulled
from
both
Dr
Jonas
and
Andy
dahlin
the
work
that
they
do,
because
they
they
have
and
and
actually
where
Stephen
he
left.
But
Steven's
done
a
lot
of
work
too
on
the
system
and
how
we
collect
data.
S
So
we
pulled
that
data
just
from
our
system
and
then
for
the
literacy
performance.
I
did
pull
the
most
current.
That
insights
had
on
literacy
performance,
but
also
I
put
in
the
plan
that
that
we've
been
working
on
since
last
year,
around
literacy
that
affects
a
lot
of
Elementary,
but
it
also
will
impact
secondary
as
well,
and
so
that's
in
there
but
I
as
as
we
move
forward
with
the
literacy
performance.
We
are
seeing
individual
successes
at
schools
and
then
the
goal
would
be
to
systematize
that
and
really
make
it
into
a
system.
S
M
Yes,
Robin.
Thank
you
Dr
Hansen,
I
I
would
my
eyes
were
drawn
to
page
six
about
bar
building
assets
and
reducing
risk,
and
it
looks
like
we're
expanding
that
from
South
High
to
Carl,
Ben,
Ed,
clap
in
Madison,
yeah
and
and
and
I
was
I.
Had
the
privilege
of
attending
the
governor's
North
Dakota
Summit
on
Innovative
education
and
had
lunch
with
the
creator
of
Barr
and
Todd
Burch
from
South
talked
about
how
how
beneficial
it
is.
I
know
there's
some
grants
available
talk
to
me
about
why
this
this
division
chose
to
expand
that
program.
Yeah.
S
S
It
expanded
and
I
think
helped
structure,
mtss
systems
at
the
high
school
level
to
really
look
at
students,
strengths
look
at
their
assets,
but
then
start
looking
at
what
else
do
they
need
and
that
that
was
a
really
positive
piece,
and
we
want
to
really
be
able
to
expand
that
for
all
of
our
schools.
Although
I
will
say
we
have
schools
that
have
great
mtss
systems
in
place.
S
This
just
helps
support
and
structure
time
for
teachers,
but
also
it
helps
I
would
say,
really
focus
on
those
positives
but
provide
at
least
at
the
secondary
some
structure
to
what
an
mtss
system
could
look
like.
We've
worked
with
the
University
of
Minnesota,
now
we're
in
our
well
third
year
technically
but
second
year
for
mtss
work,
and
this
is
something
that
we
feel
will
help
support
the
the
goals
that
we
want
for
mtss
to
then
dig
into
and
really
disaggregate
out.
The
data
that
we
have.
S
I
D
A
B
O
Sorry
well
Dr,
Hansen
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
your
presentation
for
the
information
that
you
give
us
you
you
provided
for
us
as
of
last
year,
I
have
until
this
year,
I
had
a
pleasure
to
actually
did
volunteer
at
South
High
and
bar
was
one
of
them.
So
I
had
a
couple
of
students
that
were
actually
part
of
my
team,
where
I
was
able
to
talk
to
them,
be
able
to
identify
what
they
want.
O
What
is
the
practically
like
the
needs
and
what
went
wrong
where
they
can
go
just
practically
like
them,
making
making
this
choice?
That
is,
is
good
for
them
at
the
same
time,
teacher
is
there
to
guide
them
and
just
to
make
sure
that
everything
goes
as
a
planned,
and
then
on
top
of
that,
you
know
just
being
at
ilc
too
as
well.
It
taught
me
so
much.
You
know
how
important
this
bar
is.
This
program
is,
and
the
fact
that
you
know
is
get
to
the
point
where
they're
extending
it.
O
K
Yeah,
so
one
of
the
reasons
that
when
we
did
our
strategic
plan
refresh
and
we
in
the
result
policy
indicators
looked
at
contextualizing
all
the
data
when
we
said
analysis
of
choice,
ready
analysis
of
graduation
rate
is
just
because
there's
so
many
different
data
points
that
we
can
pick
and
choose
and
pull
based
on
where
we
kind
of
see
the
needs
of
different
pieces
right.
K
So
when
you
look
at
Choice,
ready,
Choice
ready
in
itself
is
one
data
point,
but
Choice
ready
is
composed
of
three
different
components
with
workfit,
Workforce,
military
ready
and
post-secondary,
but
another
piece
that
we
actually
track
as
kind
of
scholarships
too,
because
that's
there's
a
North
Dakota
scholarship
that
takes
a
substantial
amount
of
work
to
qualify
for,
and
you
know,
as
fresh
as
like
two
hours
ago,
we
just
received
an
email
which
is
just
very
impressive.
That
speaks
a
lot
of
volumes
to
the
work.
K
Our
standard-based
instruction
in
our
high
school
teams
are
doing
that
even
in
the
class
of
2024.
Already
we
have
over
125
students
have
already
qualified
for
the
six
thousand
dollar
scholarship
from
North
Dakota.
So
that's
part
of
the
start
of
the
school
year,
which
means
they
still
have
a
year
worth
of
work
for
the
rest
of
the
students.
K
We
have
23
percent
of
the
students
at
Davies
26
at
South
or
26,
and
north
13
South
of
students
qualifying
for
the
North
Dakota
scholarship,
which
is
over
a
million
dollars
already
so
I'm,
just
very
impressive
work
that
we're
really
trying
to
do
to
make
sure
that
our
students
are
not
just
graduating,
ready
but
graduating
to
be
able
to
support
their
post-secondary
or
education
or
their
Workforce
needs
as
soon
as
they
graduate
as
well,
which
is
a
great
opportunity
by
our
state.
So.
G
T
Have
is
a
lot
of
the
data
is
lagging
considerably,
but
I
noticed
that
we
do
have
some
data
from
the
2223
school
year
wedged
deep
into
the
report
for
the
choice
ready
stuff.
T
Could
we
get
I
mean,
like?
Are
those
estimates
no.
S
T
So
my
my
thought
was.
T
K
That's
a
great
question.
Actually,
so
the
long
and
the
short
answer
is
we.
We
probably
try
not
to
communicate
because
they
clean
the
data
based
on
Mobility
students
coming
in
and
out
cohort
to
what
the
case
is
and
like,
as
it's
always
just
been
a
practice
for
us
not
to
communicate
ahead
of
what
the
North,
Dakota,
insights
or
DPI
is
going
to
recognize
as
a
graduation
rate,
because
even
a
one
percent
difference
can
then
change.
K
Look
like
we're
misleading
the
community
or
what
so
we
submit,
or
they
will
pull
our
data
from
PowerSchool
and
then
they
will
clean
it
with
their
rules
on
enrollment
Mobility,
which
students
are
assigned
to
our
campuses,
which
students
are
assigned
to
like
a
home
cap,
and
so
they
came
in
the
middle
of
the
year
and
some
of
those
other
pieces,
and
there
might
be
other
rules
that
they
scrub
the
data
for
as
well.
K
But
it's
not
official
until
it's
DPI
and
we
are
embargoed
actually
I'm,
not
sure
about
graduation
rate,
but
at
least
like
accountability
in
some
other
pieces
were
embargoed
by
DPI
to
not
share
that
data
until
they
make
it
official
foreign.
T
Move
a
little
quicker
because
we're
dealing
I
mean
like
this
report
is
like
14
months
old,
and
so
my
question
then
for
administration
is
like
and
and
I
understand.
This
is
like
really
high
level
data
right.
This
is
like
steering
a
you
know,
giant
boat.
You
know
it
takes
10
miles
to
make
a
right-hand
turn
and
I
and
I
think
this
question
is
related,
but
more
you
know
distinct,
like
I.
Understand
that,
like
this
level
of
data
is
really
important
for
the.
T
This
board,
but
how
does
the
district
you
know
take
really
I,
don't
want
to
call
it
outdated
because
it's
the
newest
thing,
but
really
like
this
is
old
data.
And
how
do
you
leverage
that,
among
your
staff,
in
order
to
you
know,
use
it
to
direct
meaningful
change
right
I
mean
like
if,
if
you're
using
this
data
you're,
you
know
saying
you
know
to
staff?
Oh
man,
like
word,
we
really
need
to
raise
graduation
rates.
T
I
U
So,
yes,
this
data
is
lagging
data,
but
at
the
same
time
as
the
data,
that's
there
around
Choice
ready
as
an
example.
We
have
also
built
for
our
students,
so
there
is
forward-facing
to
them
their
four-year
rolling
plan
towards
graduation
so
that
they
can
be
an
active
participant
in
looking
at
their
own
data,
where
they're
at
along
that
Continuum
to
getting
the
credits
that
they
need
for
graduation.
Also,
the
other
components
of
being
Choice
ready.
U
We
also,
then,
are
counseling
staff
meet
with
all
of
our
students
to
take
a
look
at
where
they're
at
on
that
Continuum
of
learning
and
then,
as
we
talk
about
in
this
report,
developing
our
own
early
warning
system
for
what
students
are
at
risk
so
that
we
can
put
more
time
and
effort
into
that.
So,
although
this
is
lagging
data,
we
also
at
the
same
time,
are
looking
at
current
data
and
working
specifically
with
the
staff
in
our
buildings,
the
students
and
their
parents
around
graduation.
S
And
can
I
jump
in
just
real
to
add
on
to
what
Dr
Gross
said
that
within
our
strategic
plan?
So
these
are
the
results
right,
but
we
use
and
I
think
to
Dr
gross's
point.
We
use
then
those
formative
assessments
that
are
that
very
current
data.
That
really
are
that
live
data
with
staff.
Most
of
that
data
is
in
edu
climber.
That's
live
with
the
early
warning
system.
We've
been
able
to
again
with
Steven's
help
and
Dell
vogel's
help,
but
we
are
able
to
enter
the
evidence-based
grading
system
within
that
too.
S
K
K
More
so
I
think
you
know,
in
addition
to
that,
being
just
lagging
data.
I
would
also
say
that
we're
not
solely
dependent
on
DPI,
because
sometimes
dpi's
data
is
not
as
accurate
either
like
so
a
couple
years
ago,
in
Choice
ready
all
Class
A
schools
in
the
state
took
a
hit
because
of
just
like
there
was
a
calculation
or
when
a
data
submission
deadline,
and
they
didn't
accept
the
data
afterwards,
even
though
we
have
some
challenges
with
when
that
submission
deadline
was
communicated.
K
But
regardless
of
that
at
this
point
in
time
really
and
what
I'm
going
to
give?
You
is
very
high
level.
But
we
have
our
data
as
a
district
when
it
comes
to
teaching
and
learning
practices
housed.
In
maybe
three
major
platforms.
We
have
kick
up,
which
is
you'll,
see
anything
from
student
achievement,
data
to
walk
through
data
that
we're
collecting
and
monitoring
on
an
ongoing
basis.
But
then
we
also
have
data
in
our
Hub
that
we
use
as
well.
K
We
are
currently
working
on
integrating
that
to
this
one
platform,
called
Cascade
that'll
sit
here
in
metrics,
so
the
goal
really
is.
Every
time
our
teaching
and
learning
team
meets
or
our
standard-based
instruction
team
meets.
They
are
looking
at
whether
or
not
we're
making
reasonable
progress
using
the
real-time
data
metrics
that
they've
identified,
even
if
that
report
is
going
to
be
monitored
the
following
September
right,
because
if
we
know
and
we're
looking
at
data
in
a
fluid
motion,
then
we
can
react
in
that
time
and
in
that
motion
as
well.
K
You
know
what
what
are
key
steps,
what
are
next
steps
and
what
we
see
when
we're
contextualizing
that
data
later
in
September,
so
really
our
goal
is
our
goal
would
be
as
a
district
to
get
our
strategic
plan
and
everything
integrated
into
one
platform.
So
we
can
honestly
monitor
at
any
given
time
if
you
wanted
to,
but
this
is
just
putting
together
the
report
for
you
on
our
analysis,
because
we
are
looking
at
on
an
ongoing
basis.
E
N
E
D
A
D
O
Do
obviously
I
do
not
know
why
you
got
pulled
in
obviously
Mr
Greg
Clark
over
there
did
had
a
whole
discussion,
and
that
was
not
poll.
So
that
being
said,
I
actually
think
that
Missy
did
explain
it
a
little
bit.
I
just
want
to
understand
more
because
the
reason
why
I
asked
it's
because
we
do
have
speaker
does
comments.
They
do
ask
us
a
lot
of
questions.
Why
do
we
have
all
of
this
informations
and
they
do
not
understand
so?
V
L
The
only
thing
I
will
mention
is,
for
example,
the
only
number
I
can
remember
is
diagnostic
testing
with
our
local
vendors
is
like
125
dollars
an
hour
per
student,
so
the
fee
did
not
look
out
of
line
from
other
Mental
Health
Providers
I.
Just
think
that,
like
everywhere
short
staffed,
we
are
now
seeing
different
vendors
from
other
areas
apply
for
for
these
positions.
K
I'm
just
scrolling,
through
their
bid
packet
to
like,
be
able
to
answer
the
question.
I
can't
find
the
year
that
they
were
accepted
or
became
into
business
right
off
the
bat.
But
I
can
tell
you
that
just
looking
at
their
company
profile
as
they
included
in
they
have
award
won
awards
in
2019,
so
they've
definitely
been
there
for
longer
than
that.
But
then
they
have
some
clients
that
include
their
educational
institutions.
K
Federal
government
say
facilities,
private
Health,
Care,
Systems,
penal
institutions
and
Enterprises
that
range
in
size
from
a
few
hundred
to
over
a
few
thousand
employees,
I
think
they're
pretty
established,
and
then
they
say,
with
over
six
years
of
experience,
we've
been
a
trustable
reliable
partner
to
our
clients
and
then
kind
of
go
into
their
second
share.
More
of
that
information
as
well.
T
Greg
as
kind
of
a
maybe
a
more
generalized
question
when
it
comes
to
like
ordino
bids
and
stuff,
would
it
be
something
that
you
know
we
can
use
this
particular
one
as
an
example
that
we
could,
like
any
board
member
could
request
to
view
the
full
bid
doc
like
packet
of
documents?
K
K
W
Yep
Dr
McKenna
Madam
president
members
of
the
board,
so
our
goal
is
to
always
internally
hire
for
all
of
our
positions,
and
you
know
we're
going
to
really
do
the
best.
We
can
so
that
we're
not
in
this
position
next
year,
but
at
times
just
like
other
school
districts
in
the
state
and
across
the
country.
K
And
I
won't
say
that
it's
particular
for
this
specific
piece,
but
I
do
want
to
just
draw
one
thing
like
as
we
look
at
qualified
services,
for
especially
in
the
field
of
mental
and
Behavioral
Health,
just
know
that
our
billability
our
ability
to
build
against
insurance
as
a
public
school
district
is
very
limited
by
the
state.
So
we
do
when
we
go
to
bid
for
services
looking
for
Universal
service
providers.
K
Sometimes
there
is
that
cost,
because
we're
providing
the
whole
cost
of
that
service
that
we're
going
to
provide
students.
So,
prior
to
this
consent,
agenda
agenda
item,
you
saw
the
connect
and
support
Telehealth
counseling
services
that
was
I,
think
30-minute
sessions
for
students.
We
did
that
during
covid
with
another
group
as
well,
but
we
can
only
go
up
to
a
certain
point
to
provide
what
I
call
like
tier
one
math
Services
before
it
gets
to
in-depth
need
that
someone
would
go
against
their
insurance
and
oftentimes.
K
What
we
try
to
do
as
a
school
district
provide
the
services
that
we
can
for
students
that
may
not
have
access
to
that,
but
we
know
that
not
all
of
our
students
may
have
insurance
as
well.
So
we
might
pay
a
premium
to
be
able
to
provide
a
service
to
everyone
else,
because
that
company
itself
is
not
billing
against
another
funding
source
as
well.
O
Well,
first
and
foremost,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
clarifying
those
questions
and
and
I
really
appreciate
that
I
totally
get
it
that
in
North
Dakota
we
are
definitely
shortest.
You
know
in
mental
health
provider
in
general
and
I
totally
understand
that
you
know
that
it
take
about
a
couple
of
months
before
anybody
else
can
get
into
the
Provider
Services
here.
So
it's
something
that
I'm
aware
of
I
just
want
to
I
just
want
us.
O
I
just
want
our
community
to
know
you
know
where
the
breakdown
and
this
you
know
I
have
absolutely
I'm
not
against
it.
You
know,
I
am
for
it
because
I
love
the
fact
that
you
know
we
can
provide
services
to
our
students,
because
that's
the
most
important
thing
and
for
for
them
to
be
educated
and
for
them
to
sit
in
their
classroom
and
for
them
to
understand
exactly
what
material
being
taught
for
them.
So
I
totally
appreciate
it.
So
thank
you.
I
E
A
Yes,
thank
you.
Motion
passes.
Moving
on
to
item
number,
eight
board
reports,
we'll
start
with
you,
Katie.
Q
I
T
I
believe
the
only
thing
I
had
was
attended
a
negotiations
committee
meeting
last
week.
Kitty
was
also
there
and
I
do
not
have
my
liaison
visits,
completed
or
scheduled,
because
last
year,
I
felt
like
I,
missed
out
on
a
lot
of
fun
by
showing
up
before
school
started,
and
only
admin
was
there.
So
I
want
to
see
students
and
teachers
so
I'm
waiting.
X
Thank
you,
committee
work
is
coming
up,
but
isn't
getting
going
yet
till
early
September,
so
that
is
on
the
list.
Negotiations.
Last
week
we
had
a
meeting
today
to
answer
some
questions
and
I
need
to
set
up
my
building
visits
as
well
and
I'm,
hesitant
too,
because
I
never
have
visited
a
building
I,
don't
think
when
the
kids
weren't
in
it
and
it's
just
a
different
Dynamic.
So
it's
on
the
list
thanks.
D
Since
our
last
meeting
end
of
governance
negotiations,
we
had
a
planning
committee
meeting
where
we
focused
really
on
what
information
and
data
the
administration
had
to
have
ready
for
us
for
our
work
session.
Coming
up
later
this
month.
Not
later
this
evening,
SEC
s-e-e-c
had
our
annual
Retreat
and
yesterday
I
at
the
12th
anniversary
of
the
opening
of
Davies,
we've
got
to
welcome
the
staff
back
12.
M
M
There
are
some
minor
adjustments
to
Denise
Jonas's
contract
that
I
will
forward
to
Business
Services
very
minor
and
then
others
C3
Tech
news.
Last
Tuesday,
as
I
mentioned,
I
attended
the
governing
Summit
for
Innovative
education
and
Dr
Jonas
was
awarded
the
pathways
of
innovation
award,
which
I
think
is
the
the
highest
honor
at
that.
As
far
as
governmental
Affairs
committee,
you've
all
seen
our
first
meeting
that
will
be
scheduled
at
6
September
15th
at
noon.
I
sent
out
some
correspondence
with
that
and
additionally
I'll
be
sending
some
the
entire
board.
M
I
A
I
N
Well,
yeah
planning
committee
meeting
governance
committee
meeting
and
then
yes,
last
week
we
had
a
negotiations
committee
meeting
gearing
up
for
our
mediation
session
that
we're
having
tomorrow
night
right
here,
five
o'clock
invite
everyone
to
attend
and
we'll
we'll
have
a
good
night.
So
that's
that's!
All
I
have
to
report
great.
O
Well,
thank
you
so
much
awesome
that
I
get
to
hear
amazing
things
happening
so
on
August
16
I
was
able
to
attend
at
claps
elementary
schools,
where
I
find
a
ton
of
students
are
sitting
in
that
area
and
getting
their
hair
cut
by
the
skill
Cuts.
Oh
my
God
they're,
so
cute
I
had
an
amazing
visit
with
a
principal
Jennifer
and
Nikki.
They
just
they
showed
me
so
much
about
a
clap
what
it
when
it
starts.
O
How
many
students
are
there,
how
many
classroom
I
get
to
follow
them
and
one
of
my
favorite
ones
that
I
really
love
there?
Is
that
they're
school-wide
pledge?
It
said
we
are
the
leader
of
our
journey
to
Excellency.
We
are
inspired
to
learn
and
and
empowered
to
leads.
We
honor
diversities.
We
will
succeed.
O
I
thought
it
was
just
amazing
because
of
the
fact
that
you
know
they
have
so
much
diversity
in
their
in
their
schools
and
just
how
they
all
get
along
is
just
outstandings
and
I.
Just
wouldn't
even
have
a
word
to
say
it.
I
was
just
blown
away,
so
it
was
a
really
great
visit.
O
The
same
day,
I
did
learn
in
the
morning.
I
did
attend
the
at
the
brunch
and
learn
that
was
interesting
and
I
get
to
talk
with
forgot.
Her
name
I
apologize,
but
she's,
amazing
and
today,
I,
get
to
see
Dr
Gandhi,
presenting
at
all
staff
meeting
and
and
I
and
I
thought
he
presented
beautifully
to
our
Fargo
Public
Schools
And,
the
fact
I,
what
I
love
the
facts
is
that
is,
he
asked
he
put
in
four
questions
regarding
belonging
on
a
diagram.
O
P
Newman
yeah,
thank
you.
I
too
was
able
to
attend
virtually
the
FPS.
All
staff
and
I
really
enjoyed
hearing
Amy
herrick's
comments
and
Dr
Gandhi
I
think
you
did
a
great
job.
P
Just
setting
the
tone
for
an
exciting
New
Year
to
come
is
very
positive
other
than
that
I've
just
been
planning
for
and
creating
agenda
items
for
our
new,
our
cea
meeting
I'm
the
new
chair
of
the
cea
committee,
and
we
are
meeting
on
September,
8th
and
I'm,
also
working
on
writing
a
piece
about
what's
happening
in
ta
for
the
newsletters
for
Fargo
Public
Schools
other
than
that
okay
I'm
gonna
be
picky
for
a
second
I
just
noticed
on
item
10.
It
says
next.
A
A
Okay,
so
last
week,
I
attended
planning
and
negotiations
and
I
had
my
first
liaison
visit
at
Longfellow
Elementary
and
they
were
doing
assessments.
So
even
though
School
wasn't
hadn't
started,
it
was
a
frenzy
of
activity.
A
We
I
think
a
lot
of
us
know
principal
Hendrickson
and
he's
just
a
phenomenal
leader
of
that
building
and
there's
so
many
great
staff
I
got
to
connect
with
several
and
I,
had
a
all-around,
really
great
visit
and
I'm
hoping
to
get
back
for
as
many
activities
as
I'm,
able
to
and
I
believe.
That's
all
I
have
so
we'll
move
to
nine
and
look
to
Seth
about
a
possible
executive.
A
All
right
all
right
now,
item
10
and
thank
you
again,
Dr
Newman.
The
next
meeting
date
is
September
12th
all
right
and
it
is
6
29.
A
We
are
adjourned,
we're
going
to
take
a
few
minutes
break
and
then
come
back.
