Sign
motion
passes
we'll
move
on
to
the
recognition
of
audience
portion
of
our
agenda.
At
this
time
the
board
will
hear
comments
from
the
public.
We
ask
that
each
speaker
who
has
signed
up
to
address
the
board
State
their
name
and
home
school
district
for
the
record
speakers
must
refrain
from
using
this
form
to
criticize
or
complain
about
a
specific
employee
or
student
by
name.
Vulgar
or
profane
language
will
not
be
tolerated.
The
board
is
interested
in
your
comments
and
will
listen
carefully,
but
is
not
obligated
to
respond
or
debate
issues
in
this
forum.
A
This
evening
each
speaker
will
be
allotted
a
maximum
of
five
minutes.
We
have
two
speakers
signed
up
upon
conclusion
of
the
allotted
time.
A
chime
will
sound
and
the
speaker
is
asked
to
conclude
if
necessary.
A
final
time
will
sound
15
seconds
later,
signifying
the
end
of
the
speaker's
time
at
the
podium.
I
will
now
call
our
first
speaker
to
the
podium
which
is
Devin
statinski
welcome,
Devin.
D
D
He
knowingly
makes
a
false
entry
in
or
false
alteration
of
a
government
record
or
knowingly
without
lawful,
Authority
destroys
conceals
removes
or
otherwise
impairs
the
Verity
or
availability
of
a
government
record.
There's
other
parts
to
this
that
it
being
a
class
C
felony
for
some
parts
and
a
Class
A
misdemeanor
for
other
parts.
D
Sentry
code
is
a
little
bit
more
lenient
than
the
federal
regulations
for
records.
Keeping
and
I
won't
bore
you
with
that.
That's
all
the
way
throughout
the
CFR
in
many
many
sections.
E
Good
afternoon
Jason
Copley
I,
don't
know
the
district
number
we're
at
Longfellow
Elementary.
The
reason
I'm
here
today
is
basically
to
speak
when
I
was
not
afforded
the
right
to
speak
for
myself
uniforms
not
for
sympathy
or
anything
that
I
am
full
time
with
the
garden
came
here
after
work.
I've
served
in
this
community
North
Carolina
state
for
17
years.
E
I
am
a
substitute
teacher
at
Fargo,
North
High
School
I
am
a
varsity
football
coach
at
Fargo,
North,
High,
School
and
I
volunteer
and
I'm
a
full-time
recruiter
for
Fargo
North
High,
School
I
live
two
blocks
north
of
the
VA
I
live
and
I
serve
in
this
community,
of
which
my
children
attend.
Longfellow
I
currently
have
one
son,
who
is
a
first
grader
at
Longfellow
Elementary
we
were
first-time,
parents
went
in
and
he
was
part
of
the
after
school
program
as
a
kindergartner.
E
Through
all
this,
you
know
learning
as
you
go
for
those
of
you
that
kind
of
first-time
parents
and
figure
it
out
as
you
kind
of
go
along,
but
we
were
not
aware
that
you
have
to
re-enlist
for
the
after
school
program
every
year
when
we
called
and
asked
about
it,
we
were
told
you
can
be
put
on
a
waiting
list
and
I
said:
okay.
Well,
let's
go
on
that
waiting
list.
How
many
people
are
on
it
and
I
was
told,
there's
39
families
that
are
still
on
the
waiting
list
ahead
of
me.
E
E
That's
not
my
problem
and
was
hung
up
on
I
proceeded
to
call
back
and
was
basically
told
that
here's
some
other
options,
but
we
can't
help
you
I
talked
to
the
superintendent
of
Fargo
Public
Schools,
that
is
in
charge
of
the
elementary
Division
I,
can't
remember
the
name
off
the
top
of
my
head,
and
they
were
completely
taken
back
that
there's
39
people
on
the
waitlist
at
Longfellow
come
to
find
out
as
they
dig
deeper.
That's
not
the
only
elementary
school
that
has
a
waiting
list.
The
good
news
that
I
have
heard
is
I.
E
Believe
they've
opened
up
extra
space
in
the
schools
to
try
to
accommodate
the
extra
families
that
are
waiting.
Unfortunately,
I
received
a
lifetime
ban
from
the
after
school
program.
I
was
told
that
I
was
rude
and
aggressive
on
the
phone
and
swore
at
the
employees
of
the
after
school
program,
which
did
not
happen
we
received.
E
We
were
not
informed
of
this
via
telephone
via
face
to
face
I
got
an
email
stating
you
are
officially
banned
from
the
after
school
program
because
of
this
rules
and
regulations
that
we
have
when
I
called
the
president
of
the
after
school
program,
I
told
them
do
I,
get
to
say
my
side
of
the
story
and
they
told
me
it's
irrelevant.
The
decision
has
been
made.
You
are
banned,
so
we
found
our
after
our
after
school
care.
E
For
my
eldest
son
about
two
months
ago,
my
wife
reached
out
to
the
president
of
the
after
school
program
submitting
an
apology.
We
are
sorry
if
it
came
off
as
rude
or
offensive.
We
did
not
mean
any
of
this.
Would
you
reconsider?
They
said
that
they
would
take
it
to
the
board.
The
board
convened
whether
it
was
taken
forward.
We
don't
know
we
got
another
email.
A
week
later
said
nope
the
band's
still
there
so
I,
don't
know
what
strength
you
have.
E
Basically,
what
I've
been
told
is
they
have
their
rules
because
it's
their
business
I,
don't
know
if
they
rent
out
Fargo,
Public,
Schools
or
not,
but
talking
with
other
parents
trying
to
use
the
after
school
program.
This
is
not
the
only
time
it's
happened.
The
other
parents
didn't
receive
a
band
but
have
been
told.
E
Tough
luck
find
something
else
figure
it
out
and
as
a
parent,
it
is
very
hard
when
my
family
and
my
children
and
I
trust
them
to
go
to
Fargo
Public
Schools
I
work
in
this
community
I
have
the
badge
that
says
that
I'm,
a
teacher
at
Fargo,
Public,
Schools
I,
can
sub
anywhere
I.
Give
back
to
this
community
I've
served
this
community
for
17
years
and
to
be
treated
that
way
without
being
able
to
say
my
side
of
the
story
and
just
via
phone.
It's
nope
lifetime
ban.
Okay!
E
Well,
then,
what
are
some
options
for
somebody
to
watch
my
three
children,
because
it's
not
as
simple
as
the
daycare
that
they're
at
now
somebody
has
to
pick
them
up
from
school
and
take
them
somewhere.
If
any
of
you
know
on
the
North
side,
there's
about
three
options
and
there's
waiting
lists
for
all
of
them,
so
I
do
appreciate
the
fact
that
there
seems
to
be
steps
taken
to
expand
the
area
that
they
can
have,
but
I
don't
know
because
obviously
I
haven't
been
able
to
be
a
part
of
it.
E
So
this
is
kind
of
mild.
It's
not
hey,
make
a
decision
fix
it.
It's
I
wasn't
I
was
told
that
my
voice
can't
be
heard.
The
first
time
I
was
rudely
spoken
to
I
was
hung
up
on
and
you
can
ask
any
of
the
teachers
at
Fargo,
North,
High,
School,
80
of
them
probably
know
who
I
am
and
if
you
told
them,
the
accusations
that
were
put
against
me
they
would
all
be
like
Jason
would
never
do
that.
A
F
And
good
evening,
everyone,
it's
great
to
see
all
of
you
this
evening,
a
couple
months
ago
when
it
was
CTE
month,
I
dropped
off
a
little
treat
to
celebrate
CTE
and
CT
Champions,
and
so
tonight
I
honor,
you
and
I.
Thank
you
as
a
board
for
being
a
CTE
Champion
for
Fargo
Public,
Schools,
Career
and
Technical
education
and
I
wanted
to
also
provide
information
on
what's
happening
this
year.
This
was
one
of
the
AHA
moments
for
me
is
in
working
with
Career
and
Technical.
F
Education
is
the
connection
that
we
have
with
the
Cass
County
organization
and
in
visiting
with
some
of
the
new
board
members
like
Katie,
Christensen
and
Nikki
golickson,
and
then
Seth
has
been
on
the
Cass
County
group
for
a
while.
It
was
just
that
moment
of.
Maybe
you
just
need
to
step
back
and
say
what
is
Career
and
Technical
education
in
Fargo
Public
Schools?
How
is
it
connected
to
Cass
County?
What
does
it?
F
How
are
we
working
with
Choice
ready,
because
Mr
dahlin
has
been
our
leg
eye
candy
for
Choice,
ready
this
year
in
Fargo,
Public
Schools,
and
then
also?
How
does
that
connect
to
the
career?
Innovation
Center
project
that
you're
hearing
about
in
our
community.
So
that's
the
overview,
education
and
experiences
to
prepare
students
for
future
careers
as
it
aligns
to
Fargo
Public
Schools
operational
goals.
Tonight
we'll
cover
three
areas.
What
is
our
tiered
instruction
that
impacts
all
Learners?
F
How
is
this
community
outreach
happening
through
Career
and
Technical
education
and
then
also
this
continuous
Improvement
in
accountability
process
that
we're
looking
at
through
Choice
ready?
You
can
see
the
detailed
goals,
but
I
will
continue
on
for
the
sake
of
time,
as
CTE
is
happening
in
our
schools.
F
I
just
really
want
to
spend
a
little
bit
of
time,
shouting
out
and
thanking
the
Educators
that
make
it
happen,
one
of
the
biggest
challenges
we
have
right
now
in
education
or
if
it's
Child
Care,
is
finding
people
that
want
to
work
with
our
humans
in
the
classroom
and
be
passionate
about
what
they
do.
And
if
you
take
a
look
at
this
picture
in
the
fall,
we
had
our
first
kickoff
and
these
are
the
CTE
Educators
that
are
in
our
classrooms,
from
our
middle
schools
to
our
high
schools
and
our
career,
advisors
and
I.
F
Think
it's
just
important
when
you
put
that
group
together
the
power
behind
their
talent
and
expertise
and
hard
work
to
help
students
succeed,
and
sometimes
you
don't
see
that
Collective
group
across
our
district
and
it
was
fun
I
also
I'm,
really
excited,
because
we've
been
scaling
up
leadership
across
Career
and
Technical
education
to
create
more
quality
and
focus,
and
so
you'll
see
in
the
middle
of
the
screen.
We
have
some
folks
that
I'll
be
sharing
a
little
bit
more
tonight
as
far
as
CTE
leadership.
F
Ultimately,
it's
the
students
on
the
side
that
we
want
to
help
raise
the
bar
for
for
success
in
careertech
Ed.
This
isn't
just
our
ideas
leaders
our
teachers
in
the
classroom.
It
is
really
based
on
some
high
quality
Frameworks.
First
of
all,
we
have
a
vision
which
is
a
national
model,
the
association
for
Career
and
Technical
education.
That
sets
the
vision
and
then
also
we
have
our
five
principles
and
our
standards
from
the
Department
of
Career
and
Technical
education.
So
the
courses
that
we
actually
Implement
are
based
on
solid
standards.
F
We
have
high
quality
Frameworks
with
measures
that
we
look
at
for
12
standards
and
then
also
every
five
years.
The
department
of
Career
and
Technical
education
comes
out
with
a
with
an
evaluation
team
to
visit
our
classrooms
and
then
finally,
we
have
advisory
committees
that
we
look
to
every
year
twice
a
year
to
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
what's
happening
in
the
community
around
us
and
how
we
can
improve
our
curriculums.
So
the
ideas
that
are
happening
in
our
classrooms
are
really
based
on
those
guidelines.
F
Fargo
Public
Schools
is
a
leader
they're,
one
of
the
largest
districts
in
the
state
of
North
Dakota
they've,
always
been
Progressive
they've
always
had
just
wonderful
Career
and
Technical
education
programs,
and
so
they
are
seen
as
the
leader
in
our
region.
When
we
look
at
Cass
County,
the
Career
and
Technical
education
Consortium
that
was
defined,
Fargo
Public
Schools
was
critical
in
helping
that
come
to
fruition.
It
started
with
Northern
Cass,
West,
Fargo
and
Cass
County
then
expanded
to
Central,
cast
and
I.
F
Think
it's
important
to
know
that
Fargo
Public
Schools
is
a
part
of
this
Consortium
and
in
the
work
that
I
do.
We
have
this
umbrella
in
this
network
that
we're
trying
to
develop
because
the
programming
is
challenging
sometimes
to
have
a
lab
space
for
it.
Qualified
instructors
and
curriculums
those
locations
for
delivery
are
happening
across
all
of
our
high
schools
in
Cass
County,
and
also
the
ndscs
Fargo
North
site.
F
I
think
what
was
really
interesting
as
Seth
has
been
on
our
governance
board
for
our
C3
Tech
as
we
name
it.
We
expanded
this
year
to
add
two
more
board
members
to
represent
Fargo
Public
Schools
because
of
its
size,
and
then
Nikki
gullickson
came
on
and
Katie
Christensen
as
we
move
forward
with
those
board
members.
F
We
now
have
went
from
a
four
person
board
member
to
nine
and
as
legislation
is
in
session
right
now,
a
Sentry
code
may
change
again,
and
so
that
transition
might
be
one
board
member
and
then
two
District
Representatives,
so
something
to
stay
tuned
to
so
looking
across
this
network.
What
we
really
want
to
do
is
focus
on
goals,
focus
on
exploration,
to
help
our
students
think
about
what
pathway
they
want
to
choose.
F
F
On
your
desk
or
at
your
table.
You
have
two
documents:
one's
a
booklet
that
shows
all
of
the
pathways
that
are
available
to
students
in
Fargo,
Public
Schools,
along
with
some
additional
information.
It's
the
2223
booklet
so
for
next
year,
we'll
update
that
with
the
new
Choice
ready
indicators
and
any
course
changes
that
have
happened
for
Fargo
Public,
Schools
you'll
also
notice.
One
flyer
that
shows
the
education
pathway
just
pulling
that
out
in
a
little
more
detail.
F
F
Ryan
Pierce
has
been
working
with
our
department
as
a
educator
and
now
a
CTE
curriculum
coordinator.
One
of
our
goals
is
to
really
have
high
quality
CTE
for
our
tier
one
EBR.
That
work
is
happening
and
we're
also
working
with
ndscs
to
explore
every
CTE,
dual
Credit
Opportunity
and
right
now
we
have
about
25
courses
identified
that
have
the
potential
to
be
dual
credit
with
our
local
Regional
North
Dakota
institution
that
could
lead
to
transition
to
also
post-secondary
with
ndsc,
NDSU
or
other
institutions.
F
F
We
want
to
serve
all
students
and
what
does
that
mean?
We've
also
always
had
a
career
in
technical
resource
educator
at
our
South
High
School
and
North
program
this
year
we're
making
some
Transitions
and
we
are
looking
at
instructional
coach
that
will
be
working
with
identifying
our
special
populations
through
edu
climber
and
then
also
working
with
our
teachers
to
help
scare
scale
their
skills
at
the
tier
one
level.
So
Heather
Sinkler
is
making
that
transition
this
year
and
it's
really
fun
I'm
going
to
be
to
put
a
big
plug-in
for
edu
climber.
F
We
had
a
request
of
how
many
Native
American
students
are
in
CTE
classes
and
with
that
tool
she
was
able
to
pull
like
145
students,
our
Native
American,
and
then
how
many
students
are
in
CTE
and
just
quickly.
We
could
access
that
data
to
determine
how
successful
they
are
in
the
program.
So
those
are
the
kinds
of
things
we're
working
on
for
continuous
Improvement.
F
Ultimately,
we
want
students
to
be
leaders,
so
we
have
our
Career
and
Technical
student
organizations.
One
of
the
goals
we
have
this
year
in
working
with
with
Miss
Lana
Duffy
Figley,
who
you'll
meet
in
a
moment,
is
taking
our
student
leadership
from
the
co-curricular
and
also
recognizing
them
through
a
National
Technical,
Honor
Society.
So
that's
in
the
works,
and
hopefully
next
year,
we'll
have
our
first
cohort
of
nths
students
in
Fargo,
Public
Schools,
so
moving
forward.
H
Good
evening
I'm,
Lana
feely
and
my
position
is
the
business
partner
liaison
for
Fargo
Public
Schools
this
year.
One
of
our
goals
was
really
to
tier
our
work
based
learning.
So,
as
you
see
on
your
screen,
we've
got
three
tiers
that
we're
working
with
tier
one
is
really
for
all
of
our
students.
We
want
career
awareness
for
all
the
students
that
enter
through
Fargo
Public
Schools
doors,
and
we
do
create
those
opportunities,
whether
it's
Junior
Achievement,
all
the
way
up
to
some
of
the
things
we
do
with
Workforce
Wednesday
Wednesdays
in
our
high
schools.
H
Tier
two
is
really
our
career
exploration,
where
students
are
of
finding
maybe
a
pathway
that
they're
interested
in
and
they're
getting
into
classes.
So
an
example
would
be
our
simulated
environments,
such
as
our
construction
classes,
where
students
are
building
those
houses
and
they're,
really
exploring
that
career
path
and
all
the
things
that
might
go
with
that
career
path.
And
then
our
tier
three
is
our
career
preparation
and
that's
really
external
stuff
outside
of
our
classrooms,
where
we're
going
beyond
the
classroom
into
our
community.
H
We
really
want
partners
with
this,
so
we've
really
identified
not
just
us
at
Fargo
public,
but
also
our
students,
our
parents
and
our
businesses,
our
our
partners
with
our
career-based
work-based
learning,
and
where
can
you
get
in
for
more
information?
Well
on
our
website?
We've
created
sections
for
each
of
our
partners.
If
they
want
more
information,
they
can
go
out
and
find
it
on
our
website.
H
What
are
we
doing
in
our
schools
right
now?
We
have
really
good
partners
and
teams
in
our
schools.
These
are
our
career
advisors.
We
have
one
at
each
school
that
works
closely
with
our
career
counselors
in
our
schools,
and
they,
as
you
can
see,
are
providing
those
tier
one
opportunities.
These
are
just
some
examples.
H
This
is
our
some
of
examples
of
opportunities
within
tier
three.
If
a
student
is
really
connected
with
our
CTE
courses,
such
as
construction
with
that
simulated
environment,
they
then
would
qualify
for
the
green
over
here
with
the
CTE
credit,
which
would
be
our
Cooperative
learning
experience
if
they
are
not
connected
with
CTE,
there's
still
opportunities
for
them
to
get
those
external
experiences
through
credit
or
no
credit
work
experiences.
H
When
we've
had
our
advisory
committees.
A
lot
of
our
business
partners
have
told
us
that
students
need
certain
skills.
So,
as
you
can
see
on
your
screen,
we've
got
career
ready
practices.
These
are
our
big
five.
We
want
our
students
to
be
responsible
employees.
We
want
them
to
have
technical
skills.
We
want
them
to
communicate
clearly
and
effectively.
We
want
them
to
be
able
to
problem
solve
and
they
need
to
be
able
to
be
a
team
player
with
teamwork.
H
F
I
think
one
of
the
things
I
really
wanted
to
share,
and
this
has
been
shared
a
while
back
I
think
Mr
Johnson
has
been
on
the
board
and
heard
presentations
before,
but
Fargo
Public
Schools
is
one
school
within
the
region,
and
so
when
we
talk
about
reaching
out
to
the
community,
there's
many
schools
with
the
same
idea
and
the
same
aspirations.
And
so
when
we
look
at.
Why
are
we
focusing
on
this
work
through
Atlanta
and
in
this
work-based
learning?
F
It's
really
to
make
it
efficient
and
make
it
meaningful
for
the
businesses
and
to
help
them
feel
prepared
and
successful
if
they,
if
they
take
on
our
students
as
well?
So
that's
one
of
the
things
I
just
wanted
to
share
as
a
slide
as
we
think
stay
connected
and
then
Lana.
Maybe
you
want
to
come
back
up
here
and
share
a
little
bit
about
some
of
the
resources
that
we're
working
on
as
well.
H
Yes,
this
is
kind
of
the
exciting
part
of
my
job.
Honestly,
we've
just
had
some
really
wonderful
opportunities
given
to
us.
Really,
if
you
look
at
the
are
you
ready?
Many
of
you
maybe
have
heard
of.
Are
you
ready,
if
not,
please
go
check
it
out.
H
This
is
available
to
us
free
Statewide
for
all
of
our
students,
and
really
they
have
done
a
wonderful
thing
and
connected
with
golden
path,
Solutions
to
create
what
we
call
Compass,
so
students
can
go
in
and
get
matched
with
their
profile,
and
then
business
partners
will
actually
connect
with
our
students
directly
on
this
site.
So
it's
really
great
Statewide.
H
Our
students
can
go
out
and
learn
more
about
careers,
there's
videos
on
there,
but
we
can
also
go
out
with
students
and
teachers
and
look
for
business
partners
for
our
advisory
committees.
Students
can
look
for
opportunities
through
that
and
they
can
match
themselves
to
careers
as
well.
So
both
are
really
great
tools
that
are
free
to
us
to
use
with
our
students
and
our
teachers.
F
I
think
moving
forward
I
mentioned
the
advisory
committees
already.
This
is
an
example
of
our
Auto
advisory
committee.
I.
Think
one
of
the
things
I've
had
conversations
about
over
the
years
is,
you
know
where
does
Career
and
Technical
education
fit
in
for
Workforce
Development?
Sometimes
we've
had
people
say.
Are
you
trying
to
chat
track
my
child
into
a
career
pathway
and
are
you
limiting
their
ideas
in
high
school?
By
doing
this,
our
goal
is
really
to
help
students
explore
and
sometimes
they
may
choose
to
stay
and
do
more
or
they
might
find
another
door.
F
That's
my
new
t-shirt
and
so
I
think
just
having
students
think
about
what
is
out
there
really
matters
to
save
time
and
money
in
in
high
school.
This
is
a
powerful
slide
for
me
because
if
you
look
at
the
bottom
picture,
it
says
thanks
to
General
equipment
and
those
students
in
the
picture
above
this
was
actually
sent
to
me
by
General
equipment.
A
gal,
that's
on
our
advisory
committee
by
the
name
of
Ann
pauler
and
those
students
are
Fargo
South,
Automotive
graduates
who
now
work
at
General
equipment
and
she
convened
them
with
their
teacher
Mr.
F
Cross
and
Mr
prestigard,
who
Mr
prestigard,
is
a
teacher
who
was
Mr
cross's
former
teacher,
so
it's
just
a
power
of
what
does
Workforce
Development
look
like.
Sometimes
it
takes
time
to
see
that,
but
it
is
really
in
it's
just
really
exciting
to
watch
how
students
gravitate
to
their
passion
and
they
become
very
productive
citizens.
F
On
the
right
hand,
side
you'll
see
some
companies
that
we've
been
working
with
this
year
to
create
apprenticeship
programs
or
more
intentional
connections
through
work
based
learning
and
Fargo.
Public
Schools
is
one
of
those
whether
it
turns
into
a
para
educator
in
the
classroom,
which
is
our
vision
for
the
education
pathway
or
it
turns
into
somebody
who's
working
on
the
facilities.
We
have
some
students
out
painting
earning
credit
because
they're
interested
in
maintenance,
so
there's
just
these
opportunities
within
our
own
District
to
cultivate
this
idea
of
work-based
learning
and
Co-Op
Credit
moving
forward.
F
The
idea
of
the
career
Innovation
Center
continues
with
ndscs.
Their
North
Campus
is
very
busy.
We
have
a
full
manufacturing
request
of
students
for
next
year.
They
may
not
even
be
able
to
take
all
of
our
requests
and
then
on
64th
and
42nd
Avenue.
The
building
continues
to
have
some
early
Construction
and
we're
waiting
to
hear
about
some
funding
from
the
legislative
session
to
see
how
far
that
building
starts
to
evolve
moving
forward
in
the
next
few
months.
F
But
ultimately
it
is
a
location
that
will
have
some
secondary
programming
in
it,
just
like
Fargo
ndscs
on
the
19th
Avenue,
and
it
will
have
some
opportunities
always
for
post-secondary
and
adult
Learners
training
in
there
as
well.
So
stay
tuned
as
this
continues
to
evolve
with
our
partnership
and
thanks
to
Fargo
Public
Schools
for
your
leadership
in
that
process.
F
I
think
finally,
I
used
to
have
this
slide.
That
I
always
talked
about
why
Career
and
Technical
education,
and
mostly
I,
was
promoting
our
graduation
rate.
Cte
students
graduate
a
concentrator
at
a
higher
rate
than
average
students,
because
they
stay
in
school
and
then
have
a
passion
for
what
they're
doing,
but
really
Choice
ready
has
been
our
next
real
reason
for
our
Rel,
well-rounded
student
and
Mr.
Dahlin
is
here
in
the
audience
today
and
I
just
really
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
him
for
his
work
to
help
with
Choice
ready.
F
You
heard
a
report
last
year,
you've
seen
some
of
the
dashboard
work
he's
doing.
Fargo
Public
Schools
took
the
lead
on
that
and
he
is
now
expanding
to
a
project
across
the
state
of
North
Dakota
but
I.
Think
at
its
big
picture
macro
level,
you've
made
a
difference,
but
what
I
think
is
most
powerful,
as
students
9
through
12
are
now
engaged
in
thinking
about
being
Choice
ready
and
scholarship
ready,
and
there
were
some
students
senior
students
that
were
not
and
with
Mr
Dolan's
leadership
and
the
career
advisors.
F
They
went
through
and
looked
at
those
students
and
now
43
more
students
were
identified
in
the
last
couple
weeks
to
be
Choice
ready,
senior
graduates
because
they
just
took
the
time
understood
what
to
look
for
and
had
the
help
to
support
those
students
to
complete
the
process.
So
I
think
when
we
talk
about
what
the
success
is.
Choice
ready
graduates
is
one
of
our
goals
and
that's
one
of
the
accountability
measures
that
we'll
be
looking
at
for
Career
and
Technical
education.
A
Thank
you
so
much
for
this
report
and
thank
you
all
for
being
here.
I
actually
am
going
to
start
for
once
with
a
question
and
then
I'll
open
it
up,
because
that
was
so
good.
My
question
is
around
the
intersectionality
of
CTE
and
our
children
with
special
needs.
A
It
was
interesting
to
hear
the
demographic
of
Native
Americans.
Do
we
have
an
idea
of
how
many
children,
Serve
by
504s
or
IEPs
RN
CTE?
Did
they
see
similar
success
rates?
You
know
I.
Think
of
of
all
the
children
that
we're
trying
to
Career
prep
or
Workforce
develop,
maybe
they're
the
highest
needs
so
I'm
just
curious.
How
that
plays
out
with.
F
F
One
of
the
things
that
we're
really
excited,
I'm,
going
to
go
back
to
edu
climber
again,
is
being
I'm
able
to
pull
that
specific
information,
and
so
that's
what
we
will
be
working
on
is
to
identify
how
those
demographic
data
is
being
how
they
are
performing
I
guess
in
each
of
our
CTE
programs
and
courses,
so
that
is
kind
of
on
the
cusp.
So
I
don't
have
an
answer,
but
we
could
pull
that
and
give
that
back
to
the
board
this
spring.
If
that's
something
you're
very
interested
in.
A
F
Do
have
a
student
that
we're
exploring
that
maybe
doesn't
meet
all
of
the
requirements,
but
at
the
same
time
we
really
felt
this
was
a
an
opportunity.
The
student
was
doing
has
a
job
and
doing
very
well
in
their
job,
and
we
did
some
reference
checks
and
that's
something
that
Lana
is
working
on
to
say.
Let's,
let's
start
with
this
student
that
they
may
not
get
all
the
criteria
and
say
this
might
be
an
option
for
the
student
to
find
success
in
school
when
they
start
outside
of
school.
B
B
I
didn't
understand
what
I
voted
for
I'm
just
curious,
because
I
was
excited
to
hear
that
we're
now
going
to
make
our
students
eligible
for
the
National,
Technical,
Honor,
Society
and
I'm,
assuming
just
because
of
the
way
we
do
things
we'll
have
students
that
actually
qualify.
For
that.
Is
there
a
scholarship
opportunity
available
for
those
students
as
well
outside
of
obviously
the
scholarship
program
we
have
for
all
students
in
North,
Dakota.
F
I
would
have
to
say
the
students
that
qualify
under
the
National,
Technical
Honor
Society,
there's
a
plethora
I,
would
have
to
say
of
scholarship
opportunities.
What
we
find
is
students,
many
times,
are
challenged
with
how
to
apply
and
complete
the
application
process.
So
one
of
our
goals
within
then
those
identified
students
is
to
help
them
successfully
land
a
scholarship,
there's
many
technical
scholarships
that
sit
on
the
table
on.
You
is
because
students
within
that
demographic
may
not
know
how
to
start
or
finish
the
process.
F
I
First
and
foremost,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
that
was
a
wonderful
well
put
together.
Presentation
thanks,
I
just
have
a
question
on
just
looking
at
your
boards
and
CTA
educator
and
their
standard
I'm
not
seeing
any
like.
Maybe
maybe
let
me
rephrase
it
are
theirs
like.
Are
there
an
application
for
you
to
apply
on
to
apply
to
be
on
this
kind
of
board,
like
maybe
they're,
a
diverse
community
that
can
come
in
trying
to
diversify
that?
You
know,
and
things
like
that
on
the
advisory
committee.
F
Boards
yeah
there
isn't
an
application
process
most
of
the
time,
we're
looking
for
somebody,
who's
willing
and
interested
we're,
but
we
are
looking
for
somebody
who's
aligned
with
the
program
area.
So
if
we're
looking
at
our
automotive
technology,
we're
looking
for
people
that
are
working
in
that
area
or
if
it's
in
marketing
or
if
it's
in
Health
Sciences,
it
could
be
somebody
working
in
a
medical
field.
So
we're
just
looking
for
that
group
of
people
so
that
they
can
provide
input
from
the
community.
F
Was
a
little
higher
than
that
143
I
believe,
and
then
there
was
also
we
did.
There
was
a
recommendation
to
do
some
cross
referencing,
so
I
think
we
ended
up
with
about
175
students.
That's.
F
A
F
A
Okay,
we'll
move
on
to
our
legislative
report
board
member
Robin,
Nelson
Has
indicated
to
us.
She
is
unable
to
be
here
tonight.
She
did
send
us
an
email
prior
to
this
meeting
with
a
very
brief
sort
of
legislative
update
and
I
asked
her
if
it
would
be
okay.
If
I
read
parts
of
that-
and
she
said
please
do
so.
I
will
read
in
her
absence
not
much
to
report
the
voucher
bill
or
otherwise
known
as
House
Bill
1532.
A
A
It
sounds
like
discussion
is
occurring
about
adding
board
policy
requirements
for
school
calendars
regarding
virtual
learning
required
snow
days
and
a
plan
to
implement
it
sounded
like
there's
some
frustration
with
some
districts
misusing
the
spirit
and
defaulting
to
Virtual
learning
days
too
readily
from
what
board
member
Nelson
can
surmise
our
current
Fargo
Public
Schools
Board
calendar
policy
would
readily
meet
the
intent
of
probable
language,
so
she's,
not
too
worried
of
with
our
built-in
two
snow
days
and
our
our
capacity
to
use
Virtual
learning,
hope,
I'm,
representing
that
correctly,
okay
and
then
next
on.
A
J
Thank
you
board
members.
I
guess
you
know
just
going
back
to
our
CTE
report.
Thank
you
to
Dr
Jonas
and
her
team
as
well
just
wanted
to
provide
one
point
of
clarification
and
I
apologize.
I
was
looking
looking
at
some
of
the
datas
to
your
question
as
well.
So
part
of
the
high
school
graduation
requirements
for
Fargo
Public
Schools
are
three
elective
credits
in
which
students
can
opt
to
take
a
CTE
class.
J
They
can
take
a
world
language
class
or
a
fine
arts
class
as
well
as
part
of
that,
and
then
obviously
we
have
different
diploma
programs
as
well,
where
you
can
take
more
credits
as
well,
so
the
opportunity
to
take
CT
will
be
open
to
all
students,
but
when
we
break
down
the
data,
I
think,
maybe
specifically
what
to
look
at
for
would
be
which
students
are
opting
to
take
a
CT
class,
maybe
versus
one
of
the
other
programs,
and
then
the
breakdown
of
that
as
well,
but
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that
all
students
as
part
of
their
graduation
requirement
that
the
secondary
will
take
three
elective
credits,
of
which
CT
is
one
of
those
options.
J
So
just
put
that
in
context
with
that
data
as
well,
because
sometimes
it'll
be
a
conflicting
priority
with
another
subset,
a
couple
of
things
in
just
my
update
today.
First
in
your
board
packets,
under
Human
Resources
actions,
you
may
see
an
extensive
list
for
non-renewals.
Just
please
know
that
that
predominantly
that
list
is
four
positions
that
are
under
a
1.0
FTE,
because
that's
our
annual
non-renewal
of
overloads.
So
that
does
not
mean
individuals
are
being
non-renewed
from
the
district.
J
They're
overload
positions,
and
sometimes
there's
also
going
to
include
positions
that
are
Grant
funded
that
are
going
to
be
dependent
on
federal
crimes
the
following
year
as
well,
but
those
are
overload
positions
primarily
on
that
list
and
that's
why
it
seems
a
little
bit
longer,
but
those
are
not
just
kind
of
FTE
positions
as
a
district,
along
with
continuing
to
to
work
on
a
daily
basis
in
battle
with
the
ongoing
winter.
J
We
are
well
underway
with
the
design
process
for
our
what's
going
to
be
our
new
eight
nine
building
as
well
so
I
think
I
shared
previously.
We're
excited
that,
based
on
just
what
the
most
recent
demographic
report
for
Fargo
Public
Schools
is
shared.
Is
that
the
building
that
we
are
currently
in
process
of
pursuing
or
building
for
Relief
on
the
South
Side
enrollment
will
not
need
to
open
up
as
a
fifth,
eighth
and
Ninth
Grade
Center.
It
will
just
open
up
as
a
middle
school.
J
Also,
and
the
reason
for
that
is
because
to
provide
Bennett
with
relief,
the
migration
of
students
that
would
go
from
Discovery
to
the
new
school
would
allow
a
discovery
to
house
fifth
graders
and
the
district's
going
to
make
that
decision
to
do
that.
For
a
variety
of
reasons.
First
and
foremost,
we
will
have
two
grade
levels
at
the
new
building
versus
three,
but
secondly,
from
the
student's
perspective
avoid
one
less
transition,
because
those
students
would
go
from
fifth
grade
to
sixth
grade
at
Discovery.
J
J
Lastly,
today
gets
to
be
another
day
where
I
get
to
do
one
of
the
funnest
parts
of
my
job,
which
is
to
recognize
our
great
staff,
so
RTE
heat
helps
with
our
summer
school
programming
and
also
our
El
programming
at
she's,
housed
at
the
Dakota
building,
but
really
has
an
impact
across
our
district,
and
she
was
our
2022
super
support
staff
of
the
year,
just
a
very
well
deserving
individual,
and
it
was
great
to
be
able
to
celebrate
her
today.
So
thank
you.
A
A
A
K
As
per
usual,
lots
of
negotiations,
committee
meetings
and
and
negotiations
with
the
FEA
are
continuing
and
are
trying
to
move
forward
as
fast
as
possible.
Given
weather
doesn't
like
to
cooperate
in
that
in
that
vein,
but
we
should
be
I,
think
good
and
all
the
rest
of
the
time
we
should
be
able
to
make
every
meeting
work.
K
This
past
weekend,
I
attended
the
national
school
boards
convention
in
Orlando
and
learned
more
than
I
expected,
and
it
was
quite
an
adventure,
so
we'll
have
stories
to
tell
for
quite
some
time,
I'm
sure
and
earlier
today,
I
met
with
Suzanne
sensky,
a
fellow
member
of
the
Native
American
commission.
K
That's
on
with
me,
she's
a
new
member
as
well
as
this
is
my
first
year
being
a
member
of
that
and
and
just
had
a
meeting
to
kind
of
get
to
know
each
other
and
see
what
we
can
do
for
work
on
that,
commission
and
and
what
what
we
can
do
as
a
board
to
to
help
those
those
Native
American
students
and
and
just
kind
of
get
the
ball
rolling
on
some
Communications
with
that
board.
K
I
Oh,
thank
you
so
much
well,.
I
I
Orlando
is
interesting,
but
there's
a
lot
to
discuss
on
that,
but
I
I
learned
so
much
especially
on
to
two
sessions
that
were
really
opened,
my
eyes
and
just
just
talking
to
them
and
just
trying
to
understand
how
they
they
are
doing
work
at
their
school
systems
and
how
we
are
as
Fargo
Public
School
really
opened
my
eye
in
so
many
different
ways
that
I
haven't
seen
things
before.
Then
then,
some
of
the
work
that
we
do
here
I
thought
those
were
really
relevant
and
we
should
definitely
look
into
these
more
today.
I
I
had
an
honor
to
to
be
at
the
superintendent's
lunch
with
the
students
wow.
They
have
a
quite
a
lot
of
information
to
to
Really,
discuss
and
and
I
hope
that
you
know
like
I
hope.
All
of
us
can,
you
know,
invite
them
and
just
be
able
to
to,
for
you
personally
like
to
listen
to
their
to
this
concern
and
just
putting
information
to
the
table
for
the
board
and
to
just
really
understand.
What's
going
on
within
our
school
system,
it
will
really
move
you,
because
those
are
the
things
that
I
feel
like
that.
I
I
I
C
Yeah
so
since
we
last
met,
I
attended
the
National
School
Board
conference
on
April,
1st,
2nd
and
3rd,
and
attended
a
lot
of
really
great
breakout
sessions.
That
was
a
great
experience
and
then
the
storm
sort
of
thwarted.
All
of
our
negotiation
and
other
efforts
that,
following
week
so
I
it
didn't
really
have
much
to
report
from
there
and
then
today,
I
had
the
privilege
of
attending
the
big
floody
band
concert
at
Discovery,
which
was
really
fantastic.
C
B
Well,
I
too,
attended
a
negotiation
Committee
in
a
national
school
board
meeting
and
I
just
need
to
give
a
shout
out
to
Greg
Clark
because
he
kept
two
of
us
awake
long
enough
to
get
us
home.
So
thank
you,
sir
and
I
gotta
just
say
nobody
on
this
board
has
to
worry
about
having
perseverance,
that's
for
sure.
L
That
was
a
real,
unique
experience,
lots
of
good
learning
opportunities
and
good
time
spent
in
a
van
with
other
board
members
staying
awake
as
best
we
could.
It
was
an
interesting
experience,
a
good
one,
albeit
we've
got
a
lot
of
good
people
on
this
board.
It's
it's
good
and
then
cea
will
be
this
Friday
morning.
G
G
Pessimism
coming
through
but
I
was
I
did
not
expect
NS
the
nsba
conference
to
be
as
educational
as
it
was
I
kind
of
went
going.
You
know
thinking,
you
know.
This
is
kind
of
a
test
for
me
to
see
if
it
was
going
to
be
something
useful
and
other
board
members
who
had
been
there
before
said
yeah,
it's
gonna
be
useful.
I
was
skeptical,
but
it
I
actually
had
quite
a
few
good
lessons
and
and
takeaways
and
things
to
to
explore
afterwards.
So
I'm
was
pleasantly
surprised
and
energized
by
that.
G
The
other
thing
I
was
surprised
by
was
today's
student
cabinet
meeting.
G
You
know,
I
went
in
thinking,
it
was
going
to
be
students
taking
an
hour
to
complain
about
food
and
dress
code
stuff,
but
I
was
very
pleasantly
surprised
at
the
depth
of
the
conversation
that
they
were
able
to
to
bring
and
engage
with
and
yeah.
That
was
that
was
fantastic.
M
Board
Association
conference
with
everyone
I
missed
out
on
the
band
ride,
though,
because
I
had
a
different
way
home,
so
I
guess
I
missed
out
on
that
experience,
since
our
last
meeting
I
have
put
quite
a
bit
of
time
into
tracking
legislation
watching
committee
meetings.
Keeping
up
on
that
and
the
last
thing
that
I
wanted
to
share
with
my
time
is
the
Washington
Elementary
School
lost
a
teacher
unexpectedly
on
March
31st
I,
wasn't
sure
if
our
board
was
aware
of
that
and
I
wanted
to
public
publicly
acknowledge
Melody
pakmara.
M
She
was
a
first
grade.
Teacher
and
I
met
her
quite
a
few
years
ago.
She
helped
me
with
the
book
fair.
She
was
an
amazing
volunteer.
She
gave
so
much
time
and
effort
to
that
school
and
she
eventually
became
a
first
grade
teacher
there
and
I
attended
her
funeral
and
I
cannot
even
tell
you
the
number
of
comments
about
her
dedication
to
our
students
to
Washington
Elementary.
M
She
has
four
kids
who
are
in
our
school
system
right
now
and
I.
Think
the
teachers
at
Washington
are
hurting
a
lot
from
losing
a
friend
and
a
colleague,
so
I
want
to
acknowledge
that
huge
loss
that
we
will
all
be
feeling
her
family,
her
kids
and
her
colleagues
and
her
first
grade
students
who
lost
her.
A
A
I
too
attended
the
National,
School
Board
Association
in
Orlando,
and
maybe
I'll
just
kind
of
like
there's
been
a
lot
of
hinting
around
to
this,
but
first
I'll
say
out
of
my
three
years
on
the
board.
This
was
my
absolute
favorite
year.
I
feel
like
the
breakout
sessions,
have
gotten
better
I
learned
so
much
and
came
back
very
energized.
That
was
a
great
word
Greg
for
things
we
could
do
in
our
own
district,
one
of
which
was
a
student
advisory
for
our
school
board
too.
A
So
the
many
districts
are
doing
that,
but
very
cool
things,
very
cool
people,
our
other
elected
officials
in
other
cities,
just
doing
great
things
for
kids.
It's
a
really
it's
a
great
thing
to
be
a
part
of
after
three
labor
intense
days
of
this.
The
storm
was
hitting
North
Dakota
and
we
learned
that
our
flight
was
canceled
to
come
home
so
and
then
we
may
not
get
back
till
Friday
or
whatever.
A
We
all
made
that
happen
and
I
did
not
have
the
luxury
of
sleeping
17
hours.
That
is
amazing.
I
just
went
back
to
my
real
life
the
next
day,
but
that
was
amazing.
So
thank
you
all
who
are
involved
in
that
I
too
have
been
attending
the
ndsba
webinar
series
and
doing
the
best
I
can
to
follow
they're
a
little
in-depth.
A
Let's
see
what
else
too,
no
one
has
mentioned
the
FPS
staff
picnic.
We
got
a
little
disappointed.
Jim
Anne-Marie
is
said
that
is
August
1st
at
South
High
this
summer.
So
it's
on
all
of
us
as
board
members
to
get
our
door
prizes
so
start
now
and
then
just
friendly
reminder
of
the
youth
Film
Festival,
that's
happening
two
days
from
now
at
the
Fargo
theater
there's
many
many
of
our
FPS
students
who
have
entered
films
I.
Not
only
am
a
judge.
A
A
L
A
Okay,
thank
you
for
that.
I
will
affirm
our
next
regular
meeting
date,
which
is
April
25th.
It
is
6
26.
We
are
adjourned.
