Notaries are selected to act as fiduciaries for the Filecoin network. Notaries are entrusted to uphold the Principles of the program - responsibly allocating DataCap to help foster legitimate use cases on Filecoin. Notaries review applications through the https://plus.fil.org/ Registry to select and then provide diligence in a public applications in https://github.com/filecoin-project/filecoin-plus-large-datasets.

This video will outline the steps to sign into the Registry, select an application, and how to approve the request for DataCap.

Hello welcome to the notary, onboarding video. My name is Philip angstu and today I'll teach you how to use the fill plus registry tooling for notice. Firstly, I would like to congratulate you all for becoming notaries. The notary application process has been a long one, but you made it so congratulations.

Secondly, I would like to thank you all for wanting to help the philplus community. Together we can build a layer of trust for the Falcon ecosystem.

Now, with that, let's get started so first you go to fill Dot plus.fill.org and you will be greeted with this front page over here. You'll select proceed for root, key holders and notaries.

Since you are a notary, you shall then select login as a notary, where you will be prompted to load your Ledger wallet at this point, please make sure your Ledger is connected with the Falcon app opened and enabled in expert mode. If that is true, and you click on load, Ledger wallet, this will appear, this model will appear and where you can select, which Ledger you want to. um You want to select for this tooling.

In my case, I have an I, know: S Plus, so I select on that and I press on connect.

If you do have multiple wallet addresses um on The Ledger, please select the correct one that you use to apply to become a notary, and when you do that, um you should be signed in with your Ledger.

Now that you have your Ledger signed in, you also have to sign in with the GitHub account that was associated with your notary application.

Please click on sign in with GitHub and where you'll be prompted to decide in with GitHub, and the whole GitHub sign in flow will begin.

Once you're through that, once then you have both GitHub signed in to the tooling and also your Ledger.

Now this will enable you to use The Fill, Plus radius, 3 tooling.

At this point, you can select different LDN applications that you want to approve of to select them. Please click on this tick box on the left, and once you do that you can approve request.

Please make sure that before you click on approve request, you do your proper due diligence on that LDN application. As you have stated in your notary application, signing many applications in the same. Approving of many applications in the same time could possibly be a trust and transparency violation, and we could ask you for reasons for why you did so when you click on approve request. This would appear it's a warning message asking you that you are about to issue approve of this much data cap to be issued to this LDN application.

If you are sure, please click on accept once you have accepted, the message should have gone through and everything should have been processed when that happens, to check that it was successful on the bottom right, it should say transaction successful.

um It would be followed by the message CID of your um of the transaction you just made. You can take this copy paste this into Phil Fox, to see more information about your on-chain footprint to make sure um to double make sure uh you can go on GitHub and then find the LDN application. There should be a comment posted by the bot saying, request, titled, request proposed or request approved.

This message should have all the information about who signed, as well as the message CID and much more.

Now you know how to sign things and basically use the fill plus registry, but oftentimes things break, and so I want to teach you how to troubleshoot this.

When you see an error, please right click on the screen and click on inspect.

This should open up something on the right showing all the code behind the website. Please click on Console console on the top right. This would um then, when you click on Console, all the error messages should show up um for why you got that error. Please screenshot that and then send it over to me or Kerry on the filecoin um falsecoin Foundation Slack.
