open
source
project

help
find
open
source
projects,
and
it's
been
a
passion
of
mine,
because
I
got
my
career
through
open
source
and
I've
continued
to
sustain
my
career
through
open
source
and
I
just
want
to
share
that
same
same
experience
with
other
folks.

we've
built

last
literally
a
couple
weeks

be
honest
but
open
source.
It
started
as
like
a
platform,
a
tool
for
me
to
track

open
source
contributions.
So
that's
what
app
that
open
source.pizza
is
sell
today,
but
what
it's
actually
turning
into
is
like
a
pathway
in
the
open
source.
So
we
want
to
basically
provide
the
sort
of
stepping
stones
for
people
to
contribute
their
first
contribution.

it's
a
very
ambitious
goal
and
I
think
a
lot
of
folks
have
attempted,
as
well
as
I've,
been
successful
on
getting
people
to
contribute
and
like
what
we're
currently
working
on
is
like
trying
to
being
bring
these
sort
of
maintainer
projects
and
then
first-time
contributors
closer
together.
So
we
have
a
project
which
is
called
hot,
open,
sauce.pizza
and
that's
just
a
discovery
tool
just
to
find
out
based
on
everybody
who
signed
up
for
open
source.
What
we
do
is
we
go
and
check
your
stars
and
then
you'll
last
30
Stars.

go
to
see
if
any
other
people
in
opensoft
have
also
started
that
repo
and
then
we
make
that
comparison
and
then
share
those
projects.
We're
also
going
to
do
something
very
similar
with
contributions.
So
if
you've
contributed
to
a
project
and
you're
part
of
opens
we're
going
to
help
celebrate
that
the
show
anything
else
that
other
folks
have
contributed
to
we'll
showcase
those
and
yeah.

just
literally,
where
we're
getting
started.

discoverability
aspect,
because
I
know
that's
like
a
common
issue,
especially
for
first-time
contributors.
They're
like

want
to
contribute,
but,
like
I,
don't
know
where
to
find
them.

the
demonstration,

I
want
to
see
what
the
new
version
of
Open
Source
looks
like
and
I
want
people
to
be
able
to
get
a
chance
to
to
to
learn
more.

what
we
have
so
far
is
we
have
just
a
simple
listing
and
again
like
this
is
something
that
folks
have
done
before
like
list
a
bunch
of
repositories.
I
think
there
are
our
differences
that
we're
actually
going
to
be
showcasing
projects
that
other
folks
in
open
source
are
also
interested
in.
So
that
is
a
difference
and
we
have
the
ability
to
essentially
upvote
different
projects.

the
most
part,
it's
typescript
and
we
do
have
some
like
JavaScript
in
some
places,
but
majority
of
its
typescript,
and
what
I
like
about
typescript
is
that
even
first-time
contributors
like

eventually
figure
it
out,
because
a
lot
of
our
typescript
code
is
clean.
If
there's
anything
that
you're
writing
incorrectly
typescript
will,
let
you
know
also,
we
do
have
a
pretty
aggressive
winter.

real

I
love
typescript,
because
well
there
it's
a
love-hate
relationship,
but
because
of
of
the

typing
that
it
does

sure
it
kind

helps

a
question
about
the

weekly
hot
projects.
How
are
you
all
doing
that?
Is
it
just

we're

built

Super
Bass

powered

already

going
to
be

worked

team

quite

bit

a
lot

folks
find
it

intimidating
to
make
their
first
contribution

we
try
to
do
is

open
source.

there's

lot

guard

and

you
make
your
first
contribution
so
a
lot
of
folks
who
recently
merged
in
good
first
issues
we
had
essentially
like
we.
We
have
a
lot
of
actions
that
push
you

right
direction.

well.
We
do
have
an
action,
the
basic
way
to
cut
releases
and
deploy
this
into
a
GitHub
package
as
well
as
deploy
it
up
to
a
production
on
nullify,
but
I
was
actually
looking
for
that
issue.

basically
identify

you

read

contributing

adding

new
library

the
project
like
that's
something
we

context

comes
to
contributions
like
we
can
code
review
issues

all

stuff
is
also
relevant

context

contribution.

when

comes
to
our
projects,
our
the
things
that
are
getting
added
like
code
review
is
actually
pretty
important
for
open
source
because
we
have
a
web-based
product
so
like
we
need
to
know
if
it
works
at
mobile.
We
need
to
know
if
it
works
on
Safari
and
that's
what
this
team
is
doing
and
what
it's
recently
done
with
some
all-in
interns
this
summer,
who
are
in
the
triage
team,
I've
elevated
them
to
actually
contributing
to
small
bugs
on
the
product.
So
it's
a
it
doesn't
have
to
be
as
daunting
like.

If
you
don't
know
what
to
do
next,
like
we
have
stuff
in
place
to
push
you
in
the
right
direction,
and
if
you
triage
enough
stuff
and
like
you
show
up

think
the
best
thing
you
can
do
when
it
comes

open
source
is
to
show
up,

you
have
a
pathway,
the
mentorship

a
pathway
and
the
contribution.

our

comes

and

times

the
contributing

a

that
your
motivation
for
building
opensauce
was
because
you're

passionate

open
source,

want
to

go

that
a
little
bit
more
about

what
motivated
you
specifically.

what
motivated
me
was
that
I
I
learned
how
to
code
like
four
years
after
college
originally
had
a
finance
degree.
Graduated
the
last
recession
took
a
sales
job
and
then
I
learned
how
to
code
for
that
idea,
and
what
I
found
out
really
quickly.
Is
that
there's
a
lot
of
open
source
code
to
like
ship
a
web
app
pretty
quickly
and
that's
what
I
did
so
eventually,
I
got
a
job
and
had
this
idea
of
like
building
this
little
integration
on
top
of
slack
and
at
the
time
slack
was
super
brand
new.

It's
one
Auto
invite
people
into
the
into
the
the
org,
mainly
because
that
infrastructure
that
exists
for
slack.
At
that
time,
yeah
and
I
found
on
GitHub.
There
was
already
a
solution.
What
I
was
trying
to
do?
Unfortunately,
I
didn't
know
how
to
read
that
code
or
how
to
get
it
to
work
so
I
emailed
the
maintainer
directly
and
the
maintain
a
response,
to
my
surprise,
responded
back
to
me
actually
showed
me
and
spent
time
showing
me
how
to
use
node.js
and
from
that
experience,
I
ended
up
making
a
contribution
back
to
their
readme.

On
basically
unblocking
the
next
person
who
comes
through
and
eventually
slack
embedded
that
into
their
their
feature
set.
So
it's
like
null
and
void
at
this
point,
but
that
one
experience
has
like
set
me
up
to
like
anybody
can
do
whatever
you
would
like
to
do
when
it
comes
to
code
through
open
source,
just
by
finding
a
cool
project
and
like
you
could
also
contribute
back
and
the
thing
about
open
source
that
I
found
out
really
quickly,
because
I've
got
contributions
to
react.
Native
and
I
got
contributions
to
node.js.

could
like,
if
you
were
trying
to
get
in
the
NBA
like
as
an
NBA
player
like
or
basketball
player,
College
High
School
whatever
and
someone
said,
hey
LeBron's
doing
pickup
games
down
the
street
like
you
should
go

that's
your
opportunity
and
be
like
okay,
cool
I'm
gonna
go
play,
pickup
LeBron,
guys,
like
he's
a
legend
he's
the
goat
and
yeah.
Of
course,
I'm
gonna
go
if
not
play
at
least
watch
the
people
who
are
playing
against
them
and
learn
from
that
experience
and
with
open
source.

It's
literally
the
same
thing
like
I
go
into
node.js
and
I
can
go
open
a
PR
or
a
comment
on
an
issue
and
provide
feedback
on
stuff
and
node.js
is
like
a
it's
a
heavy
hitter.
Obviously,
so
maybe
aim
lower
a
little
bit
like
if
you
want
to
make
a
contribution,
but
there
are
folks
who
are
skilled
to
go.
Do
contribution
to
node.js.
They
just
don't
know
it.

What
we
want
to
do
is
when
there's
contributions
ready
to
be
had
like,
where
to
be
not
spamming,
will
basically
blast
out
to
all
of
our
community.

learn

one
tool,
this
new
library,
you
can
make
contributions
anywhere
