From YouTube: GitLab 13.12 Kickoff - Create:Editor
Description
Overview of what's planned for the Create:Editor group in 13.12.
Planning issue here: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/create-stage/-/issues/12833
A
This
is
another
one
where
we'll
be
carrying
over
some
work,
that
we've
been
doing
for
the
settings
and
navigation
category,
so
I'll
highlight
that
again
share
some
specifics
and
then
there's
one
other
thing
I
want
to
talk
to
you
about,
but
the
full
list
of
what
we're
working
on
is
on
our
release,
board
and
I'll
link.
This
planning
issue
in
the
youtube
video
below
in
the
description
so
feel
free
to
jump
into
any
issues
and
ask
questions
or
leave
feedback.
I'd
love
to
hear
it.
A
So
our
three
main
goals
for
the
14-0
release
have
been
to
build
a
mvc
for
our
content,
editor
in
the
wiki.
So
this
is
a
rich
text.
Wysiwyg
editor
that'll
be
in
the
wiki
to
start,
but
we're
hopeful
that
we
can
extend
it
to
all
markdown
editing
experiences
across
gitlab.
Our
mvc
is
really
focused
on
providing
the
the
basics
of
editing
and
formatting
markdown
using
the
common
mark
spec
and
then
we'll
be
iterating
towards
applying
full
support
for
the
gitlab
flavored
markdown
extension.
So
we're
well
on
our
way.
A
The
second
main
theme
for
14.0
has
been
to
work
on
simplifying
the
global
navigation
right
now.
The
projects,
groups
and
more
drop-downs
contain
a
lot
of
functionality,
we're
going
to
consolidate
those
into
a
single
menu,
as
you
can
see
here
in
these
screenshots,
where
they
will
be
a
little
more
discoverable
and
a
little
more
accessible.
A
Similarly,
the
left
sidebar,
both
the
projects
and
group
level,
can
be
a
little
overwhelming
and
dense.
So
we
have
some
updated
styles
for
the
left
sidebar,
as
well
as
some
information
architecture,
changes
ungrouping
some
of
the
larger
categories
and
making
multiple
top
level
sections
as
well
as
shuffling
some
things
around.
This
epic
is
also
targeted
for
14.00
and
we
are
working
behind
a
feature
flag.
A
So
that's
when
you'll
see
it
in
the
product,
but
we've
got
an
updated
styling
we're
simplifying
some
of
the
interactions
and
click
targets
to
make
it
a
little
easier
to
navigate
and
and
making
it
a
little
more
friendly
from
a
backend
perspective
where
the
the
code
will
be
something
that
is
a
little
less
fragile
for
making
changes
in
the
future.
A
Similarly,
and
something
I
haven't
highlighted
before
about
the
left
hand,
navigation
is
in
the
settings
section
of
the
left
hand
now
for
the
project.
One
thing
we're
looking
to
do
is:
pull
the
merge
request
settings
out
of
the
general
section
and
give
it
its
own
top
level.
Merge,
request
settings
view,
and
so
you
can
look
for
that
in
the
refactor
when
we
ship
it
in
14.0
and
last,
a
small
but
important
wiki
update.
So
when
we
added
group
level
wikis,
we
did
not
add
the
the
option
to
disable
them
at
the
group
level.
A
So
we're
going
to
introduce
a
new
setting
in
the
group
settings
to
disable
wiki
and
just
to
be
very
specific
here.
It
disables
the
group
level
wiki,
not
wikis,
for
all
the
groups
underneath
or
all
the
projects
underneath
that
group,
so
you
still
maintain
control
over
those
individually
within
the
project,
but
right
now
there
is
no
ability
to
disable
the
group
level
wiki,
and
this
would
introduce
that
that
capability
that
should
be
coming
in
1312
we're
not
building
that
one
behind
a
feature
flag.
So
look
for
that
in
the
release
post.
