From YouTube: GitLab 14.9 Kickoff - Verify:Pipeline Insights
Description
My name is Jackie Porter, Acting Verify:Pipeline Insights product manager. As a reminder the Pipeline Insights group is responsible for all your testing and job output visibility needs in GitLab - from Review Apps for previewing changes, unit testing, accessibility, and performance testing as well as visibility into Build Artifacts. Today we are kicking off the 14.9 milestone, which features great more improvements for Build artifacts and implementation of MR widget improvements. Gina will also take some time to dive into our UX priorities for the next few milestones!
A
Hi,
welcome
to
the
14.9
verify
pipeline
insights
milestone
kickoff.
My
name
is
jackie
porter
and
I'm
joined
here
with
gina
doyle
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
our
priorities
in
14.9.
As
a
reminder,
the
pipeline
insights
group
was
formerly
known,
as
the
testing
group
is
responsible
for
testing
and
job
output
visibility
inside
of
gitlab.
This
includes
review
apps
for
previewing
changes,
unit,
testing,
accessibility,
testing,
performance
testing,
as
well
as
visibility
and
to
build
artifacts.
A
A
First
up
in
priority
is
thinking
about
how
we're
going
to
improve
some
of
the
performance
options
for
ci,
artifacts
storage
and
retrieval.
This
particular
issue
has
been
one
that
is
on
our
docket,
we'll
start
work
on
it
in
14.9
and
we're
hoping
to
deliver
it
in
14.10
wanted
to
call
this
out,
because
there
might
be
some
incremental
improvements
that
we
do
deliver
in
14.9.
B
Thanks
jackie,
we
recently
finished
up
some
art
some
research
around
artifacts
that
provides
us
with
more
information
on
what
type
of
data
would
be
necessary
when
deleting
them.
So
since
we
validated
that
that
was
something
that
users
are
looking
for,
we
are
going
to
enhance
the
artifacts
page,
which
is
what
this
issue
is,
and
this
page
is
actually
currently
behind
a
feature
flag,
but
we'd
like
to
include
more
meaningful
data
that
will
help
improve
the
traceability
of
artifacts
of
where
they
came
from,
as
well
as
help
determine
whether
they
should
be
deleted.
A
A
So
in
14.9
we'll
be
introducing
a
new
keyword
that
helps
improve
the
discoverability
of
coverage
reports.
It
also
will
be
an
extensibility
measure
where
it'll
help
us
support
other
types
of
coverage
reports
in
the
future,
so
for
people
who
are
not
using
kuberterra
but
maybe
using
jaycoco
or
another
type
of
coverage
format.
This
will.
This
will
be
a
foundational
item.
For
that
last
focus
in
14.9
are
mr
widget
improvements.
A
This
has
been
on
the
docket
for
us
for
a
while.
We're
really
excited
to
finally
be
contributing
toward
this
effort.
The
mr
widget
experience
currently
has
a
bunch
of
different
ways
of
interacting
with
it
with
the
mr
widget
and
one
of
the
things
that
we're
looking
forward
to
improving
is
test
summary
visualizations
inside
of
the
mr
widget.
So
it
looks
the
same
so
that
you
can
interact
across
all
the
mr
widgets
and
the
experiences
in
mr
widget.
