Description
Create:Source Code - Planning of 15.0
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/create-stage/-/issues/12990
A
Hello,
dear
customers,
contributors
and
team
members,
my
name
is
torsten,
and
I
want
to
walk
you
through
what
we're
planning
to
do
in
the
15.0
milestone
in
source
code
management.
We
have
a
couple
of
bugs
that
we
need
to
fix.
Then
we're
gonna
work
on
finalizing
and
releasing
the
long-awaited
gitlab
ssh
sshd,
which
started
as
a
community
contribution.
A
Then
we're
going
to
continue
the
work
on
fips
compliance.
We
hope
to
finish
that
as
well
by
15.0,
then
we're
going
to
continue
highlight
gs,
implementation
so
to
improve
the
performance
using
rendering
on
the
front
end,
but
then
preparing
it.
On
the
back
end,
then
we'll
have
documentation
improvements.
One
is
about
explaining
how
storage
is
calculated
in
git
or
in
gitlab,
more
specifically,
and
then
we'll
also
document
merge
options
which
ones
exist
and
what
purpose
do
they
have
and
what
benefits
do
you
have
from
these?
A
Finally,
we'll
use
the
opportunity
of
15.0
to
and
to
do
some
breaking
changes,
we're
going
to
remove
a
feature
flag
and
from
15.0
push
rules
will
supersede
code
owners,
which
means
code
owners
feature
will
no
longer
be
available
for
the
purpose
of
access
control.
A
Then,
beyond
this
more
forward,
looking
we're
going
to
continue
to
look
in
merge
strategies.
What
can
we
do
to
improve
the
experience
there
then
source
code
rules
bringing
the
different
rules
that
we
have
into
one
single
place
for
better
user
experience,
we're
going
to
do
a
spike
there
and
then
also
look
into
code
owners?
A
You
will
find
everything
in
this
source
code
planning
feature
and
if
you
want
to
see
details
of
you
know,
what's
planned
for
the
back-end
and
the
front-end
team,
you
can
go
to
the
planning
boards
that
are
linked
in
this
issue:
I've
hidden
the
confidential
ones
here.
So
in
total
there
are
more
yeah.
That's
it,
I'm
hoping
for
a
great
15.00
and
yeah
talk
to
you
soon.
