From YouTube: Handbook error mash
Description
The Growth Marketing team needs your help to fix errors across the handbook
A
Let's
talk
about
the
handbook,
I'm
just
kidding,
I
mean
we
can
improve
it,
that's
what
this
is
about,
but
I
wanted
to
do
something
that
was
on
theme
for
halloween
and
so
started
the
video
this
way.
Now,
let's
kick
it
over
I'll.
Do
some
screen
sharing
we'll
talk
about
what
we
want
to
do
to
improve
the
handbook.
A
Okay,
so
let's
move
into
a
serious
time
of
the
video,
I
want
to
show
you
an
audit
that
we
did
for
the
handbook
with
a
tool
we,
the
inbound
marketing
team,
uses
called
simrush
sem
rush
and
it
crawled
our
site
and
look
for
issues
that
search
crawlers
might
run
into
when
they
crawl
the
handbook
specifically,
and
so,
as
you
can
see
here,
you
know
when
we
look
at
the
handbook.
The
site
health
of
just
this
section
of
our
site
is
around
58,
so
you
know
if
it
was,
we
want
to
be
above
90.
A
If
you
know
you're
above
that,
it's
really
pristine.
You
don't
have.
Hardly
any
errors,
like
you
know,
broken
links
or
duplicate,
meta
descriptions,
page
titles,
those
kind
of
things,
so
we
have
2
365
errors.
So
when
we
click
in
and
look
at
this,
what
you're
going
to
find
is
that
a
lot
of
these
are
duplic
meta
descriptions.
A
You
know
the
inbound
marketing
team,
you
know
we
are
working
on
keep
maintaining
the
health
of
the
marketing
site,
and
so
it's
a
challenge
for
us
to
have
the
resources
to
come
in
and
fix
the
handbook,
because
it
requires
a
lot
of
investigation
if
it's
not
our
handbook
page.
So
that's
where
the
the
the
larger
get
lab
team
comes
in
and
can
help
us
really
improve
the
handbook
and
so
final
thing.
A
The
reason
why
this
matters
to
gitlab
as
a
whole,
marketing
as
well
specifically,
is
that
the
overall
health
of
pages
on
about.getlab.com
has
an
impact
on
how
well
we
we
rank
for
competitive
terms.
We
do
extremely
well
for
branded
terms
anything
that
includes
git
lab.
We
want
to
continue
to
incrementally
increase.
How
well
we
perform
when
people
are
searching
for
terms
related
to
devops?
That
don't
include
include
the
term
get
lab,
so
improving
the
handbook
helps
us
to
get
there.
So
that's
why
we're
asking
teams
to
help
us?
A
You
know
make
sure
that
each
handbook
page
is
as
healthy
as
it
can
be
from
a
crawler
perspective,
so
that
crawlers
search
crawlers
can
come
in
and
see
what's
different
and
unique
about
each
page
and
why
it's
needed.
So
this
will
help
us
improve
external
discovery
of
these
pages
in
google.
It'll
help
us
with
internal
search
and
it'll
also
help
raise
the
tide
for
all
pages
across
about.getlab.com,
so
watch
for
these
updates
over
the
next
couple
weeks.
Our
plan
is
to
try
to
focus
on
this
at
the
end
of
october.
A
We'll
have
some
more
news
about
that
coming
soon.
So
thank
you
for
taking
the
time
to
watch
this
update
and
I'm
excited
about
getting
to
work
on
the
handbook.
Thanks.
