From YouTube: Security Awards Program - AMA 2020-11-19
Description
Presentation of the Security Awards Program for the Nov 19th AMA hosted by the Security Engineering and Research sub-dept.
A
Hi,
I'm
philipp
from
the
security
team
and
today
we're
going
to
talk
about
the
gitlab
security
awards
program.
So
the
security
awards
program
is
a
new
program
created
by
the
security
engineering
and
research
sub
department
to
recognize
security
initiatives
to
secure
the
gitlab
product.
So
it's
a
contest
for
everyone
at
gitlab
and
we're
going
to
give
away
prices
at
the
end
of
every
quarter
next
year.
We're
going
also
to
have
a
grand
prize
at
the
end
of
the
fiscal
year.
A
A
Obviously
this
is
the
first
iteration
of
this
of
this
program
and
this
contest
we're
working
very
actively
this
quarter
to
improve
that,
mostly
because
everything
so
far
has
been
completely
manual.
So
we
want
to
automate
the
process
as
much
as
we
can
we'd
like
to
also
improve
the
gamification
as
part
of
the
next
iteration.
A
The
point
system
is
going
to
be
involved
in
something
more
predictable,
so
that,
if
you
do
some
actions
in
the
future,
they
will
be
automatically
awarded,
and
you
will
get
some
points
automatically,
instead
of
being
nominated
by
someone
and
the
vote
system
that
I
just
described,
the
leaderboard
is
going
to
be
automated
as
well.
We
want
to
optimize
this
portion
of
the
program
because,
right
now
again,
everything
is
completely
manual,
even
the
creation
and
the
maintenance
of
the
leaderboard.
A
And
last
but
not
least,
we
want
to
anticipate
the
mechanics
for
the
upcoming
security
champions
program
that
we
will
probably
start
launching
next
quarter,
but
we
want
to
be
able
to
mix
the
two
and
make
sure
that
there
is
no
collision
between
the
two.
