From YouTube: Move basic gitops features to GitLab Free
A
Hello,
my
name
is
victor,
I
am
the
product
manager
of
the
configure
group
and
I
would
like
to
share
with
you
this
amazing
news
that
it
was
approved
to
move
basic
ptops
functionality
of
the
gitlab
agent
for
kubernetes
to
gitlab
free
tier.
What
is
what
is
the
scope
of
this
change
with
the
agent?
A
We
have
several
features
that
are
built
on
top
of
it.
One
is
who
based
deployments,
push-based
deployments,
container
network
security
container
window
with
scanning,
and
hopefully
more
will
come
soon.
This
change
affects
on
the
first
one,
the
pool
based
deployments
model
there.
The
currently
existing
features
are
to
be
moved
to
gitlab
free.
At
the
same
time,
you
already
have
on
our
roadmap
set
of
features
that
will
still
stay
in
premium.
A
A
In
the
ci
cd
case,
we
have
something
called
impersonation
how
you
can
restrict
the
agent
to
have
a
more
restricted
set
of
permissions
and
act
as
a
different
user
given
the
cluster.
Basically,
this
is
a
premium
feature
and
the
same
feature
for
the
pool
based
deployments
will
be
premium
as
well.
So
the
only
feature
that's
moved
to
core
is
the
pool
based
deployment
with
the
service
account
of
the
agent
itself.
A
What
is
the
timeline
of
this
change?
Of
course,
with
all
similarly
amazing
changes,
we
would
like
to
do
it
as
soon
as
possible.
At
the
same
time,
we
only
have
four
back-end
engineers
and
five
track
categories
to
take
care
of
which
means
that
this
it
will
take
at
least
a
couple
of
months
to
to
get
here.
I
hope
that
by
july
it
will
be
shipped
in
the
product,
but
I
didn't
promise
you
anything
here.
