From YouTube: Flux investigation decision
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Hello,
gitlab,
and
especially
hello
to
the
configure
team.
My
name
is
Victor
Knight
I'm,
the
product
manager
of
the
configure
group
here
at
gitlab
and
in
the
past
two
months,
I
can
say
we
were
looking
into
switching
from
our
in-house
via
GitHub
solution
to
Flag
City.
This
video
wants
to
summarize
our
decision.
It
will
have
two
approaches
in
the
next
sentence:
I'm
going
to
tell
the
decision,
and
if
you
are
more
interested
in
details
it
will
follow.
A
I
think
this
will
benefit
most
gitlabs
users
and
gitlab
as
a
company.
This
was
a
short
version.
Now
comes
the
long
one
if
you
need
more,
if
you're
interested
in
more
details.
So
we
looked
into,
we
started
the
Journey
of
this
kubernetes
integration
with
the
gitlab
agent
for
kubernetes
back
in
May
2020
and
back
then
the
current
flux
did
not
exist.
A
Now
we
want
to
Fast
Track
This
and
have
a
really
major
solution
for
our
github's,
offering
that's
why
we
are
going
with
flux.
In
the
past
two
months,
the
team
worked
really
hard
to
investigate
our
options
and
the
cost
of
switching
and
the
benefits
of
switching.
We
for
that
we
created
a
very
simple
framework.
A
What's
called
The
Rise
framework
is
documented
in
the
handbook.
It
stands
basically
for
rage,
impact
and
confidence
divided
by
an
Ashford
number,
and
we
did
that.
Try
score
both
for
the
in-house
solution
and
for
the
flux-based
solution.
A
All
in
all,
as
I
already
said,
we
are
going
to
move
with
flux,
but
actually
this
decision
wasn't
that
clear-cut
and
it's
not
at
all
clear,
even
though
the
numbers
seems
to
be
seem
to
be
very
clear
here
with
flux,
there
will
be
some
extra
complexity
coming
in
the
questions
as
well
around
the
business
case,
whether
it's
we
can
monetize
around
githubs
after
this
move.
But
we
have
some
good
ideas
how
to
proceed
in
this
direction
and
for
sure
we
will
have
a
major
bit
of
suffering
there.
