From YouTube: GitLab Workspaces - SSH Connectivity
Description
This is a new feature that we just merged that allows you to connect to your workspace using your local VS Code instance.
A
Hi
everyone
I
wanted
to
talk
to
you
about
a
feature
that
we
just
released,
which
is
SSH
connectivity
for
workspaces.
So
today
in
gitlab
workspaces,
you
can
go
ahead
and
click
on
any
link
and
be
navigated
to
that
workspace
in
the
browser,
and
that
opens
up
your
workspace.
You
can
explore
your
main.go
file
or
whatever
repository
you
cloned
from
essentially-
and
this
is
a
very
sort
of
a
simple
go
example
that
I've
cloned
now
with
this
with
this
change.
Now
what
you
can
do
is
you
can
connect
using
your
local
IDE
instance.
A
So
you
could
connect
to
your
remote
workspace
with
your
local
IDE
instance.
So
what
I'm
going
to
do
is
connect
my
local
vs
code
to
the
workspace
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
copy.
My
workspace
name,
I'm,
going
to
go
to
vs
code
and
say
I
want
to
start
a
new
remote
connection
or
specify
my
workspace
name
and
also
my
hostname
for
SSH.
A
A
A
And
if
I
say
see,
my
main.go
file
is
the
same
as
what
I
saw
in
my
remote
development
environment
of
the
browser.
So
now
you
have
uniform
environment,
you
can
access
it
using
vs
code
locally
or
you
can
access
it
using
the
browser-based
vs
code.
Thank
you.
