From YouTube: Paste Image in Markdown in the Web IDE
Description
In GitLab 13.1 we'll be releasing the ability to paste an image directly in to Markdown content while you're editing that file in the Web IDE.
A
Hi,
my
name
is
KY
Armstrong
I'm,
the
product
manager
for
the
editor
group
here
at
github
and
I
just
wanted
to
showcase
an
upcoming
feature.
We've
got
in
13.1,
which
will
be
released
on
the
22nd
of
this
month.
So
let
me
go
ahead
and
share
my
screen.
We'll
kind
of
dive
right
into
it.
So
I'll
share
my
screen.
I've
got
the
IDE
already
opened
the
web
ID.
A
Are
you
open,
created
a
new
directory
called
pasting
image
and
so
features
that
we're
adding
allows
you
to
paste
an
image
from
your
clipboard
directly
into
markdown
content
while
you're
editing
it?
So
let
me
just
create
a
new
file
here
and
we'll
show
you
what
that
looks
like
so,
as
I
start
I'll,
do
this
both
ways?
First,
so.
A
Manually
and
so
in
order
to
add
an
image
today,
the
way
this
works
is
I.
Gotta
go
sort
of
find
this
image.
You
know
over
here,
I
can't
drag
and
drop.
There's
no
nothing
to
do
here.
So
I've
got
a
click
on
the
directory
to
upload
a
file.
We're
gonna
upload.
This
one
I
see
that
it
gets
uploaded
now,
I
want
to
reference
it
in
a
smart
town
back
yet
I've
got
a
bunch
of
problems
with
this.
A
Don't
do
this
on
a
regular
basis.
You
know
remembering
this
syntax
or
remembering
all
of
this
is
fairly
complicated.
It's
a
little
bit
of
a
burden.
It
sort
of
breaks
up
the
flow
of
sort
of
the
rest
of
the
content.
You
might
be.
Writing
took
a
long
time.
I
was
able
to
juggle
through
that
and
didn't
type
that
out
and
get
that
out
here.
A
What
we
can
do
now,
though,
is
and
so
I'm
gonna
come
back
over
here.
I'm
gonna
click
on
this
image,
I'm
going
to
do
a
command
C
to
copy
that
and
then
I'm
just
gonna
hit
command,
V
and
paste,
and,
incidentally,
you'll
see
where
the
syntax
was
automatically
done.
We
named
the
image
FX
PNG
correctly,
given
the
path
to
that
image,
and
you
can
see
the
image
was
uploaded
in
the
directory
where
I
was
working
on
my
content.
So
this
really
streamlining
the
streamlines
the
flow
of
adding
an
image
while
you're
writing
markdown
content.
A
So
we're
really
excited
about
this.
Some
future
things
we
might
be
looking
at
is
dragging
and
dropping
those
images
in
to
help
do
this.
You
know
being
able
to
drag-and-drop
over
here
or
specifying
past
or
other
file
name
future,
but
right
now
we're
really
excited
to
just
make
this
process
faster
and
easier
for
users
as
they
edit
content.
So
if
you've
got
a
need
for
pasting
images
in
or
you
work
with
images,
a
lot
you've
got
some
ideas
about
how
we
can
prove
this
or
continue
to
make
some
changes
here.
