Hi there this is kristin dubenko and I'm the PM on the knowledge group in the create stage. Our group works on two category level features with the wiki and design management in twelve. Seven were continuing the work on two direction level issues that have now slipped both of these required a lot of back-end architecture, discussion and we're making sure that we get them right.

The first one is generating smaller versions of design images. When new versions are uploaded for this one, the team evaluated three ways we could achieve the image resizing.

The first one was using the gitlab CDN, which ultimately would not work for our self-managed customers, although it would have been a very easy win to use that they evaluated using an internal gitlab image resizing service service, which is a cool idea, but doesn't exist yet so it didn't support getting our MVC out quickly and then, ultimately, the team landed ongoing with writing their own uploader class, which ultimately generates the smaller images based on the params that you give us the second issue that slipped with supporting design management links when adopting links in markdown and this one you can see the description in the 12 v, kickoff we're still working on this.

It's probably gonna slip or probably would ship in twelve eight but we're targeting twelve seven. Four right now we have one new direction issue, which is a front-end Direction issue and that's implementing zoom functionality on the design view its issue, thirteen two one, seven and what we are doing here is in this code. Pen demo, you can see I've got my image and its full width if I click, the plus and minus buttons I can zoom in on.

In and out on it, so what this does is it enables uploading of larger images where you might want to zoom in and get pixel level detail.

The other thing I wanted to mention, even though it's not a does it's not a direction item, we did have to squash a bug in twelve six, which I know a lot of you have come and told me about where your comments essentially take over the width of the design and that you could see starting this starting at this wid that ended up looking like this, and so this was fixed in twelve six, so you'll have the full real-estate and then also the zoom added on.

In terms of wiki, there's no direction level issues for twelve seven, however, our amazing user researcher Katherine completed a research issue in twelve six around exploring the value of the wiki should had lots of cool affinity of mapping around missing capabilities improvements and then the overall feedback- and she listed them nice and neatly here in issue three forty and so in twelve. Seven. We're going to be using this to prioritize the backlog and start to get more of these implemented. Now that we really have it backed up with her research.
