Description
Jarek Ostrowski explains how to connect to your GitLab wiki from your local environment and get the right packages installed.
A
I'm
a
product
designer
on
the
knowledge
team
at
get
lab,
and
this
is
a
demo
of
how
to
update
a
wiki
locally
in
your
ide
like
atom
or
visual
studio
code,
so
to
get
started.
If
you
are
viewing
your
wiki
on
git
lab
in
the
upper
right
corner
will
be
a
link
that
says
clone
repository
and
you'll
go
ahead
and
click
this
and
here
you'll
get
instructions
on
how
to
clone
the
wiki
and
install
prerequisites
and
for
the
sake
of
this
demo,
I've
already
gone
ahead
and
installed.
A
Gollum
and
github
mark
down
here
so
it'll
be
about
five
minutes
to
install
these
prerequisites
so
once
you've
done
that
you'll
go
ahead
and
clone
your
wiki.
So
in
your
terminal,
you'll
go
ahead
and
run
that
git
clone
and
then
you'll
cd
into
that
directory
into
that
wiki,
and
here
I'll,
just
open
the.
A
This
is
a
lexicon
list
that
we've
we're
currently
iterating
on
for
design
management
and
it's
a
place
where
everyone
can
see
the
definitions
so
we're
all
on
the
same
page
when
we're
talking
about
elements
in
design
management,
so
I'll
go
ahead
and
describe
this
global
drop
zone,
and
this
is
going
to
be
a
place
where
you
drag
and
drop
designs
into
design
management
inside
get
lab,
and
so
what
this
is
is
a
place
to
drag
and
drop
designs
which
will
then
upload
to
the
design
tab.
So
let's
describe
that
here,
let's
say.
A
A
drag
and
drop
drop
zone
to
upload
multiple
designs
and
for
the
sake
of
this
demo
I
won't
think
too
much
about
this,
but
just
show
you
how
we
can
do
this
in
edit
this
wiki
locally.
So
I've
gone
ahead
and
made
a
change.
I'm
going
to
hit
save
and
we
are
currently
on
master
and
we'll
also
just
commit
this
directly
to
master.
A
So
we're
going
to
do
get
add,
write
a
commit
message,
update
global
drops,
out,
drop
zone
description
and
then
we'll
get
push
to
master.
