From YouTube: GitLab 12.8 Kickoff - Create:Static Site Editor
Description
Kick Off video for the Static Site Editor Group and GitLab Handbook in the Create Stage of the DevOps lifecycle.
A
Hi
everyone,
my
name-
is
Eric
sugar
and
I'm,
the
product
manager
for
the
static
site,
editor
group
and
the
handbook
which
were
part
of
the
create
stage,
and
today
I'd
like
to
highlight
what
we
working
on
for
the
12.8
release.
First
off
we're
adding
a
small
feature,
but
one
we
hope
will
make
sharing
from
the
handbook
much
easier
and
more
organic,
we'll
be
adding
the
ability
to
quickly
share
selected
text
via
Twitter,
with
one-click
simulator.
A
What
you
might
find
on
medium
when
you
select
a
line
of
text,
tooltip
will
show
up
and
it
will
take
the
selected
text
and
compose
a
tweet
for
you.
The
next
two
features
are
improvements
to
the
handbook
itself,
so
they're
more
relevant
for
those
who
are
editing
handbook
content.
But
anyone
who
has
edited
handbook
contact
knows
that
the
build
pipeline
can
take
an
awful
long
time
to
complete.
A
So
we
have
two
efforts:
kicking
off
in
12.8
that
we
hope
will
result
in
significantly
reduced
build
times
and
first,
we're
going
to
be
implementing
incremental
builds
for
the
handbook
content.
So
this
will
allow
us
to
dramatically
improve
build
times
by
building
only
the
source
files
that
were
changed
in
a
given
mr.and.
A
Next,
we'll
be
working
on
changes
to
the
underlying
repository
structure,
to
lay
the
foundation
for
both
pipeline
performance
improvements
and
future
feature.
Work
specifically
we'll
be
moving
to
a
mono
repo
with
separate
projects
and
therefore
separate
pipelines
for
each
of
the
main
sections
of
the
site,
and
this
work
is
directly
related
to
our
goal
for
providing
improved
static
site,
editing
experience
and
will
allow
us
to
iterate
on
the
editing
experience
of
the
handbook
in
isolation
from
other
sections
of
the
site
and
ultimately
bring
that
editing
experience
over
as
a
core
feature
in
the
product.
