From YouTube: GitLab 14.4 Kickoff - Enablement:Distribution
Description
Kickoff for the Distribution group for the GitLab 14.4 release.
Planning issue - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/distribution/team-tasks/-/issues/910
A
The
priorities
in
this
order
are
operator,
certification,
sas,
reliability,
omnibus
tips,
compliance
linux
on
z,
support
secrets,
configuration
and
any
tech
debt
that
we
are
able
to
pick
up
kind
of
at
the
end.
So
the
first
one
I'd
like
to
talk
about
is
our
operator
certification.
We
were
happy
to
ga
the
operator
in
14.3
and
moving
forward
in
our
next
steps
of
the
operator
is
going
to
be
pursuing
official
operator
certification.
A
So
there's
a
lot
of
things
that
kind
of
go
into
that
one
of
the
main
ones
that
we
need
to
pursue
this
milestone
is
retool
publishing
images
for
red
hat
certification,
so
we
want
to
make
sure
the
images
that
we
deploy
with
gitlab
are
able
to
be
certified
through
the
red
hat
certification
process.
So
that's!
This
is
a
big
one
that
we
want
to
pick
up
and
probably
work
on.
First.
The
next
item
that
I
mentioned
is
our
pips
compliance
and
specifically
we'll
we
are
pursuing
omnibus
compliance.
A
First
cloud
native
will
absolutely
come
next,
but
one
of
the
first
ones
we're
going
to
pick
up
here
is
our
omnibus
tips.
Compliance
as
you
can
see.
We
kicked
off
a
couple
issues
in
our
last
milestone.
It
was
great
that
we
were
able
to
pick
those
up
as
we
kind
of
continue
moving
forward.
You
can
see
that
we've
got
the
next
kind
of
four
set
of
issues
here
scheduled
for
14-4,
as
we
move
forward
with
this
compliance.
A
The
next
item
is
again
moving
forward
with
another
item
that
we
saw
last
mile
soon,
which
is
linux
on
z
support.
So
this
is
a
research
spike
kind
of
epic
that
we're
working
through
here,
as
we
see
what
it
would
look
like
to
support
linux
on
z
and
the
next
step
of
that.
We
we
completed
our
kind
of
initial
investigation
kind
of
investigating
what
would
take
to
support
that
and
the
next
step
that
we
discovered
in
our
initial
spike
is
supporting
grpc
on
the
s390x
architecture.
A
Finally,
one
of
the
another
ones
that
we've
been
working
on
in
a
while
is
just
you
know,
secure
solution
for
managing
omnibus
configuration
secrets-
and
this
is
another
one
that
we
mentioned
previously-
that
we
are
continuing
to
work
on
and
make
progress
is
encrypting
all
rails
passwords
stored
in
the
gitlab
rb
file.
We
ticked
off
one
another.
You
know
similarity
to
some
of
the
other
ones.
A
We've
kicked
off
one
in
our
last
milestone
and
as
we
kind
of
continue
to
move
forward,
and
hopefully
pick
some
of
these
up
in
our
14.4
milestone
as
we
continue
to
work
towards,
you
know
a
greater
solution
for
securing.
You
know
those
configuration
secrets.
A
So
this
is
our
14.4
milestone,
scheduling,
issue
and
we're
happy
to
be
working
on
this
thanks
have
a
great
day.
