From YouTube: GitLab 13.2 Kickoff - Enablement:Distribution
Description
Highlights for the next release for configuring and deploying self-managed GitLab
A
Welcome
to
the
13.2
kickoff
for
the
distribution
team,
I
am
Larissa,
Lane
I'm,
the
product
manager
for
distribution.
Today,
I
will
be
covering
some
of
the
highlights
of
things
we'll
be
working
on
in
13.2,
starting
with
some
new
features
that
are
coming
and
then
I
will
talk
about
some
of
the
components
and
dependencies
that
are
bundled
with
get
lab.
A
A
One
of
the
benefits
of
Patroni
is
that
we
expect
improved
performance,
including
when
the
master
goes
offline
and
then
comes
back
offline.
That's
right
online.
We
will
be
able
to
automate
rejoining
that
know
it
into
the
PostgreSQL
cluster,
rather
than
the
situation
that
we
have
today,
where
that's
a
manual
effort
to
have
that
node
rejoin
the
cluster
Patroni
was
actually
bundled
in
the
omnibus
package
in
13.1.
As
an
experimental
feature,
we
still
have
some
more
work
to
do
to
test
and
document
Patroni
and
we
still
have
some
sub
commands
that
need
to
be
added.
A
We
have
we've
been
doing
some
research
and
we
have
also
done
some
proof-of-concept
work
and
where
we
have
some
ideas
about
how
we
might
like
to
implement
this.
So
in
13.2
we
will
be
getting
feedback
on
the
proposed
solution.
I
highly
encourage
you
to
come
in
and
take
a
look
at
this
issue.
If
this
is
something
that
you're
interested
in
and
review
the
proposal
and
provide
feedback.
A
A
A
A
Okay,
now,
in
terms
of
components
and
dependencies,
we
added
support
for
PostgreSQL
11
in
actually
we
made
it
the
minimum
required
version
in
get
like
13
point
higher,
and
our
plan
was
to
add
support
for
first
ghost
PostgreSQL
12
as
soon
as
we
could.
After
that,
one
of
the
blockers
has
been.
We
have
had
to
wait
to
add
Patroni,
because
our
current
version
of
rep
manager
doesn't
work
with
Postgres
12.
A
So
now
that
we're
making
good
progress
on
Patroni,
we
have
scheduled
the
first
issues
to
add
Postgres
12
and
initially
this
will
just
be
an
opt-in
version.
That's
available
for
a
brand
new
installs.
We
will
not
get
to
testing
the
upgrade
or
a
high
availability
or
geo
aspects
of
Postgres
12,
so
that
will
be
coming
in
a
future
release.
A
We'll
be
adding
support
for
a
bun
to
2004
and
scheduled
for
this
release,
so
hopefully
you'll
be
seeing
a
passage
for
about
to
2004
in
their
very
near
future
and
also
for
us
where's
12.5.
Currently
we
only
have
a
package
for
size,
twelve
point
two
and
then
finally,
we
will
be
bumping.
The
minimum
supported
version
of
kubernetes
to
one
point
thirteen.
So
this
is
for
deploying
get
lab
on
kubernetes,
and
this
will
free
us
up
to
start
adding
some
of
the
more
recent
versions
of
cuban
edges
as
well.
Thank
you.
