From YouTube: GitLab 14.5 Kickoff - Enablement:Global Search
A
Hi,
I'm
john
mcguire
and
I'm
the
global
search
senior
product
manager.
I'm
going
to
take
you
through
what
we
have
coming
up
for
get
lab.
14
5.
get
one
fourteen
five
we're.
Actually
we've
done
a
lot
of
user
research.
We've
come
up
with
our
plan
for
some
of
the
most
useful
features
that
we're
prioritizing
to
add
to
the
search
experience.
A
This
one
is
quite
colorful.
We
are
going
to
be
adding
labels
into
the
results
for
our
issues
and
merge
requests
as
well.
We'll
do
issues
first
and
if
we
can
we'll
do
merge
requests
as
well.
Issues
will
be
the
priority
along
with
that
you'll
see
that
there's
going
to
be
a
label
filter
option
that
is
next
to
the
search
bar
underneath
our
other
filtering
options
that
we
have
to
kind
of
show
you
some
more
views
of
what
that's
going
to
look
like.
So
this
is
what
it
will
look
like.
A
If
it's
expanded
out,
you
can
see
it'll
retain
the
color
details,
you'll
be
able
to
do
this
across
groups
and
projects,
and
there
will
be
some
auto-complete
functionality
similar
to
what
you
have
when
you're,
adding
labels
into
an
issue.
Order
bar
once
you've
selected
a
label
or
two
which,
when
you
multi-select
you'll,
see
them
appear
above
and
will
have
an
x
next
to
it,
so
you
can
quickly
remove
those
the
labels
that
are
returned
and
the
options
that
come
up
are
based
on
your
current
result
set.
A
So
if
you
put
a
request
in,
if
you
put
a
search
in
and
you
don't
see
a
label,
the
reason
is
that
your
search
term
would
not
have
something
labeled
that
way.
So
it's
really
about
trying
to
find
things
that
are
already
labeled
this
way,
if
you're
trying
to
find
things
you
want
to
add
labels
to,
that
is
probably
something
that's
a
little
easier
to
do
from
the
issue.
A
There
will
be
an
apply
button,
and
today
this
is
something
that
we're
addressing,
but
the
apply
button
is
available,
even
if
you
haven't
made
a
change,
and
so
we
are
updating
that
and
there'll
be
another
option
in
the
drop
down
for
you
to
deselect
and
see
what
labels
are
currently
selected,
and
that
is
it
so
I'm
kind
of
excited
about
this
is
actually
one
of
our
most
requested.
Features
for
global
search
is
adding
the
ability
to
sort
and
filter
by
labels.
A
Labels
are
the
kind
of
unofficial
method
of
categorizing
a
lot
of
what
you
do
in
gitlab
and
so
being
able
to
quickly
filter
down
a
list
of
things
that
you're
looking
and
searching
through
by
now
group
by
project
the
status,
the
confidentiality
and
now
labels,
along
with
the
the
sorting
capabilities
that
we've
been
adding,
is
starting
to
add
to
a
pretty
feature
full
search.
So
I
hope
I
hope
you
enjoy
that.
I
hope
it
becomes
helpful
and
I'd
love
to
hear
your
feedback.
A
If
you
have
any
feel
free
to
comment
in
on
the
issue
and
thank
you.
