Description
Check out the planning issue to see everything we intend to work on this milestone: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/291003
A
Hello,
I'm
tim,
I'm
the
pm
for
the
package
stage
and
today
I'm
going
to
be
talking
about
a
couple
of
features
that
we
have
lined
up
for
the
13.8
milestone,
which
is
scheduled
for
release
for
self-managed
on
january
22nd,
2021
happy
new
year,
everyone
so
we're
a
little
short-handed
given
the
holiday
schedule.
So
I'd
like
to
just
talk
about
two
issues
that
we
have
planned.
One
is
an
implementation
and
one
is
a
design
issue.
A
The
first
is
a
new
feature,
a
new
group
setting
that
we'll
be
adding
for
the
package
registry.
First,
we're
going
to
focus
on
maven,
and
this
setting
at
the
group
level
will
allow
you
to
choose.
If
whether
or
not
you
want
to
allow
duplicates
for
duplicate
maven
packages
to
be
uploaded
and
if
there
are
any
exceptions.
So,
for
example,
looking
at
this
design
where
we
could
see
actually
all
the
formats
supported
in
this
milestone,
we're
only
going
to
add
support
for
maven.
A
You
could
choose
whether
or
not
you
would
like
to
allow
duplicate
uploads
and,
if
not,
if
you
would
like
to
add
any
exceptions
by
default,
we
will
follow
what
the
public
registries
and
the
formats
themselves
follow.
So
for
maven
we
will
allow
duplicates,
but
you
will
have
the
option
to
go
in
and
say:
don't
allow
them.
A
The
second
issue
I
wanted
to
talk
about
is
an
improvement
in
design
for
the
cleanup
policy
for
tags.
So
one
feature
that
we've
heard
very
frequently
from
our
from
speaking
to
folks
in
the
community.
Is
they
you
set
up
a
new
cleanup
policy
and
you
don't
exactly
know
which
container
images
are
going
to
be
removed
by
that,
and
so
we've
had
this
request
to
add
in
a
dry
run.
So
what
you
know?
Basically,
you
enter
in
your
regex
and
then
you
want
to
know
which
images
will
be
affected
in
your
registry.
A
So
this
is
a
design
issue
that
we'll
be
implem
designing.
What
this
dry
run
could
look
like
what
the
functionality
will
be
and
then
we'll
be
doing
some
solution:
validation
on
that
and
rolling
it
out
in
early
2021,
so
yeah.
I
just
wanted
to
highlight
a
couple
of
features.
I
hope
everybody
has
a
happy
and
safe
holidays
and
I
look
forward
to
collaborating
with
you
in
the
issues
and
in
their
mrs
thanks.
