From YouTube: GitLab 16.2 Kickoff - Enablement:Tenant Scale
Description
16.2 milestone kickoff for the Tenant Scale group. 16.2 planning issue: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/tenant-scale-group/group-tasks/-/issues/85
A
The
team
is
currently
pretty
much
at
full
capacity
for
this
Milestone.
However,
we
were
affected
by
a
feature
change
log
in
16.1
and
have
to
handle
a
bit
more
follow
than
expected
from
that
Milestone,
which
is
also
the
reason
why
we
kept
the
estimated
capacity
limit
for
this
Milestone
a
little
bit
below
than
what
is
realistically
possible
just
to
be
able
to
shoulder
the
issues
that
were
not
completed
in
16.1.
A
We
are
still
working
towards
the
three
goals
that
are
listed
here.
They
have
not
changed
since
the
last
Milestone,
but
I
want
to
call
them
out
again.
Just
in
case
you
haven't
seen
them
yet.
The
first
one
is
to
enable
decomposition
for
all
staff
managed
customers.
We
are
also
focusing
on
building
out
the
organization
prototype
and
are
working
towards
completing
the
second
iteration
of
cells.
A
The
main
focus
is
on
these
two
categories:
organization
and
cells.
The
rest
of
the
issues
are
things
that
came
in
through
security
vulnerabilities
that
we
have
to
fix.
We
are
trying
to
commit
to
about
five
bugs
per
Milestone
and
not
more
to
be
able
to
focus
on
the
organization
and
sales
category.
Mostly
all
right.
A
If
it
turns
out
that
this
is
more
problematic,
then
we
have
anticipated.
We
still
have
the
option
to
push
this
towards
18.0,
but
at
the
moment
we
are
anticipating
17.0.
A
The
next
goal
we
are
pursuing
is
to
build
a
prototype
of
the
organization,
also
to
unblock
further
work
on
cells.
We
have
defined
what
the
organization
should
contain
in
the
organization
blueprint
and
we
are
still
working
towards
completing
the
first
iteration
of
an
organization
in
16.2.
In
particular,
we
continue
working
on
some
fundamental
issues
to
generate
the
organization
entity.
A
They
do
not
look
very
different
from
what
is
to
be
found
in
the
admin
area
at
the
moment,
but
just
to
show
you
what
exactly
this
will
look
like
here
are
the
issues,
and
you
can
see
a
draft
of
this
page.
There
will
be
a
directory
that
lists
out
the
different
projects
that
are
available
in
an
organization.
A
A
A
One
original
idea
was
that
we
have
groups
projects
and
users
listed
together
in
the
directory.
At
the
moment,
we
are
anticipating
that
users
might
move
down
into
the
manage
section
of
the
sidebar
navigation,
so
there's
still
a
couple
of
smaller
items.
We
have
to
figure
out
in
terms
of
where
exactly
this
will
be
located.
Nevertheless,
we'll
start
the
front-end
work
on
this
already
foreign.
A
We
will
also
look
at
the
billing
pages
to
continue
our
discussion
with
the
Fulfillment
team
and
are
looking
into
how
the
organization
will
impact
the
user
profile
in
particular.
There's
a
couple
of
examples.
We
need
to
work
through
to
see
which
areas
are
affected
by
introducing
the
organization
and
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
those
that
we
need
to
get
through.
The
user
profile
is
one
that
our
team
owns.
A
A
The
second
iteration
which
we
are
currently
focusing
on
is
about
enabling
users
to
create
a
group
on
a
second
cell
for
the
case
that
users
are
shared
between
cells.
We
are
currently
working
towards
the
goal
to
demo
this
particular
iteration
of
cells
in
16.4.
So
you
will
find
the
steps
outlined
here
that
we're
planning
to
Showcase
in
the
demo,
essentially,
you
will
be
able
or
a
user
will
be
able
to
create
a
top-level
group
on
individual
cells.
A
So
in
16.2
we'll
work
on
some
issues
that
will
bring
us
closer
to
that
goal
and
those
are
the
highlights
for
16.2
for
the
tenant
scale.
