From YouTube: Package speed run - settings overview
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
A
One
thing
we
learned
from
research
is
that
when
you're
using
the
package
registry
UI,
it's
kind
of
frustrating
to
then
navigate
back
to
settings,
so
what
we
did
is
we
added
this
little
navigation
item
here?
So
let
me
show
you
what
an
actual
example,
so
here
I'm
in
a
group
and
let's
say
I-
go
to
operate
to
the
package
registry.
A
You
could
see
here
that
this
will
link
me
to
the
settings
for
my
group
and
at
the
group
level,
just
as
a
reminder
for
settings.
We
have
a
few
options.
You
can
control,
you
could
choose
whether
to
allow
or
prevent
duplicate,
Maven
and
generic
packages.
This
exceptions
box
allows
you
to
use.
You
could
enter
any
names
like
allow
duplicates
and
you
could
prevent,
let's
say
anything
that
has
release
or
Dev
in
it
as
an
example.
A
This
is
also
where
you
can
control
whether
or
not
packages
can
be
forward
will
be
forwarded
to
the
public
Registries
for
Maven,
I'm,
sorry
for
npm
and
python.
What
this
means
is
that
if
I
have
this
turned
on
that
I
try
to
install
an
npm
package
and
it's
not
found
it-
might
get
that
registry
that
we
will
gitlab
will
send
a
request
to
npmjs.com
and
try
and
pull
the
package
from
there.
A
This
is
another
interesting
option
you
can
choose
whether
or
not
you
want
to
enforce
this
setting
for
all
subgroups
and
you
that
basically
means
the
setting
will
Cascade
down
to
some
to
the
all
the
subgroups
nested
under
this
parent
group
same
option
for
Python,
and
then
you
have
options
here
for
the
dependency
proxy
as
well.
At
the
project
level,
same
thing,
I'm
going
to
go
to
operate
package
registry
and
then
I
see
here.
I
can
click
to
my
settings
and
the
options
we
have
here
at
the
project
level
are
about
the
cleanup
policies.
A
A
If
you're
publishing
a
lot
of
Maven
packages
and
you're
allowing
duplicates
you
could
it's
a
good
way
of
limiting
how
many
duplicates
can
exist
and
anything
more
than
10
will
be
deleted,
and
you
can
also
set
cleanup
policies
for
your
container
registry
here
as
well,
but
since
in
16.0
we
have
a
separate
issue
to
link
settings
from
the
container
registry
I'll
dive
into
that
a
little
bit.
Then,
thanks
for
watching.
