From YouTube: Product Planning: How to bulk edit issues related to an epic without opening multiple tabs.
Description
How a GitLab Product Manager uses GitLab in product planning tasks - When you need to update the metadata associated with issues under a single epic, don't open each issue in its own tab, use the issues list filtered by the epic to accomplish your task in fewer clicks!
A
Hey
everybody,
I'm
Amanda,
reeda
I
am
a
senior
product
manager
with
product
planning
here
at
gitlab
and
I
wanted
to
walk
through
a
quick
demonstration
of
how
I
use
bulk
edit
on
the
issues
list
to
for
various
reasons,
but
mainly
as
an
efficiency
tool.
A
So
let
me
share
my
screen
and
I
was
just
asked
whether
we
have
the
ability
within
an
epic
to
to
bulk
edit,
the
child
metadata
here
right,
so
I
have
when
I
I'm
in
this
epic
and
I
have
children
right
children,
either
epics
or
issues
or
both,
and
the
question
was:
could
I
bulk,
like
let's
say,
move
these
top
five
items
to
a
particular
Milestone
or
bulk?
Add
a
label
or
bulk
something
right
within
the
Epic
view?
No,
the
answer
is
no.
A
We
there
is
an
issue
for
this,
not
currently
prioritized
something
that
we
still
need
to
look
into.
So
there
is
an
issue.
If
you
want
this
feature,
please
do
subscribe
to
229353
and
give
it
a
thumbs
up.
So
we
can
watch
folks
interest
in
that
feature,
but
what
I
do
when
I
have
the
situation?
Is
this
certainly
comes
up?
I
want
to
edit
things.
A
You
know
more
more
than
one
thing
and
I
don't
want
to
open
a
bunch
of
tabs.
I
will
go
out
to
the
issues
list
and
I
will
actually
filter
by
the
Epic,
so
I
I
very
frequently
will
filter
by
an
epic
to
get
all
the
stuff
all
the
related
issues,
and
then
here
I
can
use
the
bulk
edit
of
the
issues
list
to
do
what
I
need
to
do.
A
So
if
I
want
to
select
them
all
or
just
a
couple
and
then
I
can
add,
a
label
or
I
can
update
the
Milestone
right.
A
So
these
are
all
things
I
can
do
and
then
I
can
select
the
update
all
I'm
not
going
to
do
this,
because
this
is
production,
but
the
this
filter
by
epic
is
really
useful
for
being
able
to
do
Mass
actions
like
that,
since
it's
not
available
in
the
Epic
at
the
moment-
and
you
know,
I-
would
really
love
to
learn
more
about
use
cases
for
why
you
might
want
to
see
this
within
the
Epic
view
itself,
so
that
we
can
understand
the
best
solution
for
that.
