From YouTube: Corp Comms ONLY: Sprout Social Tutorial
Description
This tutorial will teach you the basics of Sprout Social and the following features: Compose, Publishing, Content Calendaring, Deleting, and Pausing All. it is intended for the corporate communications team.
A
All
right,
so
the
most
important
thing
to
learn
in
sprout
social
is
how
to
publish.
So
what
that
means
in
sprout
is
the
compose
a
message
tool
feature.
So
this
blue
button
right
here
is
how
you
compose,
which
means:
how
do
you
publish
a
post
to
social?
So
you
would
click
your
blue
button
and
then
they
call
this
the
profile
picker.
A
So
you
would
click
this
tab.
If
you
say
you
didn't
want
to
post
to
twitter,
you
wanted
to
post
to
facebook
or
if
you
want
to
post,
to
linkedin
and
notice
how
right
now
like
I
am
truly
deselecting
and
selecting
the
reason
being
is
for
get
lab
social.
As
you
can
see
our
urls
here.
We
want
you
to
schedule
one
piece
of
content
three
separate
times,
because
we
don't
want
to
lose
the
tracking
behind
like
linkedin,
twitter
or
facebook.
Otherwise
it
would
just
show
social
as
a
whole.
A
So
that
is
why
I'm
only
posting
to
twitter
right
now
so
yeah.
So
I
start
by.
I
already
have
a
blog
queued
up,
so
I
would
have
started
by
grabbing
my
url,
I'm
putting
in
our
tool
but
that'll
be
separate.
Let
me
just
grab
my
twitter
url
and
one
of
my
pro
tips,
especially
since
you
are
not
a
social
media
manager.
This
is
not
part
of
your
daily
job.
A
I
just
wanted
to
share
that
every
single
blog,
but
now,
knowing
that
about
the
blog
team,
this
I
hope
this
continues,
but
every
single
blog
post
at
gitlab
at
the
very
bottom,
has
a
post
already
they
do
a
click
to
tweet.
So
what
I
would
recommend
for
you
folks
is
to
copy
and
paste
that
over
well.
First,
let
me
put
my
url
in
so
you
put
your
url
in.
I
always
do
click
the
shortened
links
because
sometimes
I
have
to
add
an
image,
and
that
would
just
be
too
long
but
yeah.
A
A
So
in
this
instance,
obviously
we
want
to
take
advantage
to
expand
our
reach
and
tag
aws,
so
to
do
that,
you're
going
to
start
with
the
at
sign
and
start
typing
out
the
profile
you
want
to
tag
and
sprout
will
find
profiles
based
off
of
that
search,
and
so
for
me
right
now.
I
know
that
that
is
the
profile
I
want
to
click
and
select
another
pro
tip.
A
A
You
click
the
emoji
feature
right
there,
hypothetically
speaking,
if
an
image
is
not
pulled
from
the
meta
description
of
the
url
or
you've
been
provided
an
image,
you
would
click
this
camera
icon
to
upload
your
media
and
then
you'd
upload
your
image
that
way,
and
then
it
would
attach
itself
over
here.
You
would
see
that
so
now
I
have
my
social
copy.
I've
tagged
an
account.
I
have
my
url.
A
The
next
step
is
that
you
really
want
to
make
sure
you're
applying
tags,
all
the
appropriate
tags.
I
would
say
every
single
post
has
at
least
one
to
three
tags
in
it.
In
this
example,
I
know
that
this
is
a
blog.
I
also
know
that
this
is
an
owned
link.
This
is
on
the
gitlab
website.
We
own
that
tracking.
A
So
it's
an
owned
link,
and
I
know
that
there's
a
partner
here,
so
I'm
going
to
search
partner
and
the
major
partners
we
have
specific
tags
for
if
it's
not
one
of
these
top
ones,
it's
just
a
generic
partner
tag.
So
but
here
I
know
it's
aws,
and
so
now
my
post
is
tagged.
It
has
all
the
right
tracking
in
it,
and
you
move
on
to
the
scheduling
portion
of
this
by
default,
get
lab
social
actually
schedules
out
by
specific
day
and
time.
A
We
don't
auto
schedule
when
we
don't
click
the
immediately
unless
there's
very
specific
situations,
so
we're
going
to
click
the
specific
day
and
time
and
you'll
know
that
I
practiced
this
tutorial,
because
I'm
going
to
pick
july
16th
to
tell
you
that
that
is
my
last
day,
I'm
so
sorry
so
july.
16Th,
my
other
pro
tip,
is
that
I
always
hover
over
the
date
and
keep
in
the
back
of
my
mind,
I'm
like
okay,
so
around
9
a.m,
ish
around
1,
30
p.m,
there's
already
two
tweets
going
out.
A
So
that
tells
me
I
need
to
space
out
my
third
post.
This
leads
wonderfully
into
how
we
kind
of
have
a
daily
calendar
at
get
lab.
We
want
at
least
three
tweets
going
out
every
single
day.
It's
okay!
If,
on
the
weekends
it
drops
to
like
two,
we
have
one
facebook
post
per
day:
it's
okay!
If
we
don't,
because
sometimes
the
content
just
isn't
available,
and
we
really
just
try
and
keep
a
presence
there,
we
really
want
at
least
two
linkedin
posts
per
day,
but
yeah
so
back
to
it.
A
I
hovered
over
I'm
actually
going
to
select
the
sixteenths,
and
then
this
feature,
the
use
optimal
times
feature,
is
going
to
make
sure
that
our
post
is
being
seen
by
the
most
eyes
possible
on
social
media
that
day.
So
this
is
where
it
gets
a
little
tricky,
though
I
swear
that
sprout
knows
that
I'm
on
eastern
standard
time.
A
A
So
that
tells
me
that
I
need
to
actually
select
the
third
trending
time
of
the
day.
So
I'm
going
to
select
that
11
20
am
that's
it
then
you
would
schedule
so
we
click
that
blue
schedule
button,
and
so
that's
how
to
compose
this
then
kind
of
leads
into
where
I
want
to
show
you
the
publishing
feature
so
well
publishing
view.
So
you
want
to
hover
over
your
main
nav,
the
little
airplane
icon
and
we
go
to
publishing
and
that
hold
on.
I
want
it
to
be
in
the
calendar
mode.
A
So,
yes,
you
have
your
main
nav
and
then,
when
you
go
to
each
of
these,
they
have
their
own
nav,
and
so
I
want
to
show
you
the
calendar
view
I
personally
like
the
month
and
list
view.
If
you
wanted
to
change
the
view
you
have.
This
is
the
toggle
for
it.
I'm
going
to
use
this
opportunity
to
show
you
how
to
delete
a
post
so
had
I
known
the
date
july
16th,
I
would
go
over
to
there.
I'd
click,
the
twitter
button
and
it's
gonna
load.
A
Okay,
so
you're
now
seeing
all
the
tweets
we
have
going
on
that
day
if
we
needed
to
delete
that
post.
For
any
reason
we
click
this
little
trash.
Can
button
and
we
delete
that
message-
you
won't
see
that
immediately
take
effect,
so
I
always
like
refresh
it
just
to
make
sure
because
sometimes
it
just
it's
a
little
glitchy.
A
This
is
something
I
use
when
I'm
working
on
like
a
campaign-by-campaign
basis.
I
mainly
stay
and
I
don't
really
ever
use
the
weak
view.
I
stay
in
list
in
months,
but
the
other
thing
I
wanted
to
show
you
if
you
are
trying
to
find
a
specific
post,
a
really
good
way
to
toggle
through
that
is
by
selecting
the
tag.
So
we
knew
that
I
had
just
added
the
blog
tag
to
it.
If
I
select
this
tag,
every
single
post,
that's
a
blog,
will
show,
in
my
view,.
A
A
So
the
smart
inbox
is
really
your
place
to
kind
of
see
every
single
message
where
we're
mentioned,
and
it's
your
chance
to
like
comment,
share
and
interact
with
our
communities
online
so
say,
if,
like
you
saw
a
community
member
said
that
they
hit
a
certain
number
of
contributions
you
want
to
like
that.
You
want
to
celebrate
it.
Maybe
even
you
know
comment
like
hooray
or
something
like
that.
A
A
If
we
wanted
to
actually
reply
so
this
person
said
I
would
love
to
schedule
new
prs
on
github,
bitbucket
and
gitlab
okay
in
this
situation.
If
I
really
wanted
to
reply,
you'd
click
the
left
facing
arrow,
I'm
just
going
to
pretend
I'm
not
actually
going
to
do
that.
So
you
type
your
reply
and
then
you'd
click
send
and
it
would
automatically
close
it
out
and
remove
it
from
your
smart
inbox.
A
Okay,
so
yeah,
so
that's
the
main
reasons
why
you'd
use
smart
inbox,
but
there
are
these
really
random
situations
when
we
might
get
a
request
in
slack
to
find
a
specific
post.
What
I
always
do
is
I
pop
into
the
smart
inbox
tool-
and
I
use
like
so
if
I
wanted
to
use
actually
like
search
git
lab
and
get
lab
remote,
so
it's
gonna
pull
every
single
mention
that
has
gitlab
and
the
word
remote
in
it
and,
if
you're
not
finding
a
lot
in
your
search,
I
always
click
search
all
messages.
A
Instead,
if
you
knew
when
it
was
posted,
you
can
filter
by
like
the
time
frame.
But
yes,
those
are
the
very
few
reasons
why
you'd
be
in
the
smart
inbox
tool.
So
now
I'm
going
to
just
go
over.
Oh
and
one
other
fact
is
mainly
when
it
comes
to
product
related
stuff.
I
would
recommend
sending
product
related
messages
or
concerns
over
to
dev
evangelism
or
the
support
channels.
A
In
very
rare
situations.
We
have
a
crisis
communications
opportunity
where
we
need
to
actually
quickly
pause
all
messages.
This
is
very
rare,
but
if
there
ever
was
an
emergency,
where
say
will
was
out
like
with
no
on
vacation
with
no
wi-fi
no
access
and
something
some
really
big
fire
drill
happened,
and
you
don't
know
what
the
posts
are
that
are
going
out.
Well,
we're
going
to
pause
them,
and
then
you
can
work
on
it
later.
A
So
you're
going
to
go
back
to
your
main
nav
you're,
going
to
hover
over
your
account
settings
click
account
settings,
go
to
settings,
we're
going
to
scroll
down
to
publishing
settings
and
there's
this
really
big
red
button.
This
is
the
pause
all
feature.
The
reason
why
I
would
recommend
it
doing
this
way
and
not
being
like.
Oh,
I
have
to
delete
all
these
posts
individually,
I'm
not
going
to
press
it
by
pressing
stop
posts.
It
automatically
takes
all
of
your
future
scheduled
work,
your
social
media
posts
and
puts
them
into
drafts.
A
It's
important
to
remember
when
the
crisis
is
over
to
turn
them
back
on.
So
you
would
go
to
the
same
section
and
click
this
button
again,
but
now
that
leads
me
to
show
you
where
drafts
are
so
after
you
turn
this
back
on.
Remember
all
those
messages
were
sitting
in
drafts.
They
don't
just
like
magically
go
back
on
your
calendar,
so
we're
going
to
go
back
to
publishing
and
we're
going
to
go
to
drafts
under
the
publishing
navigation
tab,
and
I
left
one
sitting
here
on
purpose
so
say
this
was
that
situation?
A
What
you
need
to
do
next,
if
you're
like?
Oh,
I
actually
need
to
edit
that
that
language
is
is
no
it's
kind
of
sensitive
now,
so
we're
going
to
click
that
edit
button
you'd
make
your
changes
and
then
it's
important
to
remove
the
this.
Is
a
draft
toggle
or
it
will
remain
sitting
in
drafts,
so
you're
going
to
click
that
toggle
and
move
forward.
The
steps
that
I
just
taught
you
so
you'd
select
your
date
your
time
and
then
you'd
hit
your
schedule.
