From YouTube: Review Infra/Dev Oncall Survey and Next Steps
A
B
We're
recording
okay,
great
all
right.
Well,
this
is
the
this
is
a
meeting
to
review
the
infra
dev
on-call
survey,
June
30th
great,
so
yeah
we
put
out
a
survey
a
few
weeks
ago
for
all
of
the
engineers,
all
the
back
end
engineers
specifically
to
give
us
their
input
on
the
infra
dev
on
calls
process,
which
has
been
in
place
for
almost
a
year,
maybe
ten
months
and
has
been
working,
but
we're
wondering
if
we
can't
iterate
on
it
and
maybe
make
some
changes,
maybe
some
improvements.
A
B
C
A
C
A
A
C
A
B
I
I
personally
I'm
I'm
I'm
feeling
like
this.
This
might
not
you
know
if
if
we
redid
it
and
we
try
to
get
more,
you
know
more
people
to
respond.
We
may
get
a
little
fluctuation
in
the
data.
I
think
we're
I
think
you
can
get
some
trends.
Maybe
sit
like
a
general
picture
from
this.
That
I
think
is
pretty
telling
at
least
that's
just
my
gut
feeling.
I
think
that
we
can.
We
can
extrapolate
sorry
I'm
an
internet
is
bad.
B
A
A
B
Know
to
me,
I,
like
I,
think
we
can
definitely
take
this
information
and
iterate
on
the
current
process,
because,
like
what
I'm
seeing
is
that
there
there's
definitely
an
interest
in
automating
the
weekday
okay.
If
we
split
this
from
weekday
and
weekend,
I
think
that
weekday
on-call
and
me
100%
automated.
That's
what
I'm
reading
from
this
data
that
we
can
create
a
bot
which
James
has.
C
B
Proposed
and-
and
you
know,
worked
on
that
could
basically
handle
anything
that
happens
during
the
weekday,
but
that
weekend's,
a
more
limited
you
know
like
36
hours
over
a
weekend
would
would
be
what
we
would
need
to
self
schedule
for
those
that
are
qualified
to
work
on
ER
to
do
on-call
on
a
weekend.
That's
what
I
see
in
this
data,
that's
what
it's
pointing,
which
would
be
an
iteration
that
I
think
would
be
beneficial.
Would
would
people
who.
A
Sign
up
for
it
on
the
on
the
weekday
would
they
have
to
join
the
slack
group,
but
would
the
bot
automatically
add
them
during
their
work
hours?
If
it's
automated
I
think
would
work
if
people
have
to
take
action
to
add
and
remove
themselves,
I
think
they're,
gonna,
just
forget
and
and
I
think
the
process
would
break
down
some.
So
automated
add
people
so.
B
What
I'm
imagining
is
that
everyone
that's
on
the
current
list.
That's
currently
participating
on
call
would
be
part
of
the
process,
part
of
the
weekday
process,
so
everybody
so
and
whenever
a
new
back-end
engineer
joins
after
three
months,
we
can
decide.
How
are
they
added?
Because
we
have
that
problem
right
now,
with
the
spreadsheet
right,
like
their
man.
D
I
think
I
mean
that's
the
easiest
thing
to
do.
Yes
to
the
people
who
want
to
volunteer
or
the
people
we
have
available
to
be
in
be
in
this
channel
and
then
the
world
would
choose
from
that
specific
channel.
It
could
be
far
the
restrictions,
because
I
mean
in
the
same
channel.
They
could
be
people
from
infrastructure
and
so
on.
So
we
may
have
to
check
the
title
or
some
say
that,
but
those
are
minor
details
so.
A
C
The
color
is
to
implement
more
rules
here,
because
he,
if
you
all
recall
that,
because
because
we
can
elite
ability,
so
some
people
should
take
more
with
the
day
shifts.
So
loaded
rules
are
in
that
document.
Right,
so
everybody
knows.
There's
a
separate
document
share
the
eternally
based
on
their
locality.
So
how
difficult
it
is
to
implement
that
rule
so
that
we
don't
overload
the
people
who
actually
are
eligible
for,
because
you
know
that
I
think.
If
we
use
about
for
the
weekdays,
we
probably
need
that
logic.
D
C
D
D
I'm
sorry
I
was
just
gonna,
say
I
think
I
think
that's
the
idea.
Well,
it's
not
entirely
random.
So
what
I
did
with
the
boat
right
now
is
just
base
and
the
number
of
sort
of
things
someone
who
already
did
it
so
someone
who
had
an
incident
and
thing
by
the
boat
then
it
would
be
at
the
bottom
of
the
list.
So
the
one
thing
I
mean
that
this
really
involved
for
the
weekend
as
well,
even
in
the
beginning.
So
if
someone
gets
thinking
that
we
can
but.
C
A
B
A
A
I
think
it's
better
I
agree
I'm
from
let's
do
so.
Everyone
who
is
people
back
in
engineers
who
are
part
of
this
either
sign
up
the
weekday
or
weekend
if
they're
weekday
they
go
in
the
slack
Channel
and
the
BART
will
randomly
choose
them
when
they're
online
and
if
it's
weekend
and
they
do
one
of
the
other
and
if
they're
weekend,
then
they
will
sign
up
for
a
schedule
and
we'll
still
manage
that
by
spreadsheet
and
you
do
one
or
the
other.
A
B
And,
and
and
the
thing
to
think
about-
is
that
you
know,
because
we're
talking
greatly
reduced
number
of
hours
on
the
weekend
and
potentially,
and
it's
going
to
be
hopefully
less
work
and
and
potentially
easier
to
find
people
to
fill
the
slots.
I
guess
like
that's
only
risk
is
that
we
don't
have
enough
people
to
cover
the
weekend
at
all,
but
we
have
that
problem
right
now,
so
they
can't
imagine
that
it
be
any
worse.
D
C
We
continue
to
do
the
assignment.
There's
limitations
still
apply,
so
this
method
is
not
going
to
improve
the
weekend
in
any
ways,
but
the
weekdays
I
think
it's
better
because
we
have
a
part.
So
it's
easier
for
us
are
years
to
find
out
who
is
available
or
just
a
ping.
Someone
and
also
the
bar
will
randomly
pick
someone
based
on
their
availability
online,
so
people
won't
have
to
schedule
their
time.
A
And
someone's,
let's
say
someone's
online
there
they're
on
weekday
you're
online
and
they
miss
the
zoom
message,
or
they
really
can't
do
it.
For
let's
say
you
know,
they're
doing
childcare
or
whatever.
Whatever
reason
is
the
bot
will
move
on
to
the
next
person?
Will
randomly
choose
another
person,
it's
not
like
they
have
during
their
work
hours,
whatever
those
happen
to
be,
they
have
to
be
sitting
there
and
watching
and
waiting
right.
It's
it's
now.
There's
a
potential
for
I,
don't
want
to
call
it
abuse,
but
you
know
kinda
not
doing
many
incidents
and
not.
C
A
D
C
D
Someone,
for
example,
someone
gets
Bing
and
after
X
number
of
minutes
they
don't
respond.
Then
the
boat
will
be
someone
else,
but
actually
that
person,
because
this
at
the
top
of
the
list
and
this
person
didn't
acknowledge
the
message
it
will
still
be
at
the
top
of
the
list.
So
for
the
next
incident,
this
person
who
didn't
respond
will
still
be
at
the
top,
obviously
depending
on
availability
and
other
things,
but
it
will
remain
at
the
top.
So
if
they
keep
saying
no,
no,
they
will
still
remain
at
the
top
and
everything.
D
A
D
Yeah,
the
other
thing
am,
I
noticing
the
buddhist
down
there.
I
know
some
of
the
engineers
stress
concern
about
getting
ping
on
sort
of
focus.
Times
like
they
may
have,
they
may
be
working,
they
may
be
online,
but
there
are
times
where
they
they
just
want
to
focus
or
like,
for
instance,
some
engineers
prefer
not
to
do
reviews
during
say
randomly
4
to
6
p.m.
D
or
something
I
want
to
focus
on
something
and
and
and
I
think
I
saw
two
or
three
people
expressing
that
in
the
feedback
and
I
did
put
a
few
a
few
things
we
can
do
about
it
like
we
can
obviously
engineer
in
the
engineer.
It
knows
the
message
thing:
it's
also
fine,
because
it
will
timeout
sort
of
uneven
being.
C
B
Like
the
the
he
dislike
getting
pinged
of
that
person
getting
pinged
and
during
their
focus
time
is
really
low.
So
I
wouldn't
like
an
initial
iteration
I,
wouldn't
worry
about
it.
I
would
just
you
know.
If
we're
getting
a
lot
of
people
that
they're
constantly
getting
you
know
bother
during
their
focus
on,
then
we
can
try
to
improve
this,
but
I
don't
I.
Just
can't
imagine
this
is
likely
to
happen
very
often.
D
B
So
you
know,
let's,
let's
maybe
focus
on
getting
the
the
basic
functionality
of
the
bot,
working
and
testing
it
and
and
just
start
there
and
I,
don't
want
to
create
too
much
work
for,
for
you,
James
and
I'm
I
mean
I'm
happy
to
help
with
the
bot
as
well,
or
we
can
I
mean
I'm,
not
sure
writing
it
in,
but
we
could
elicit
other
contributions
as
well.
Yeah.
D
A
Know
the
next,
but
it
makes
me
think
the
next
question
will
ganas.
Oh,
can
we
make
this
part
of
get
the
gate
lab
pronto
right?
This
actually
sounds
like
a
really
useful
thing
that
customers
wouldn't
want
to
use
too,
so
we'll
probably
get
more
people
and
should
get
more
as
well
yeah.
This
is
pretty
cool
idea.
A
D
I
think
interesting,
I
think
yeah
right
now.
It's
just
I
mean
I,
just
put
like
a
quick
and
dirty
cooker.
That's
a
thing,
but
I
did
in
Ruby,
though
so
I'm
sure
that
if
we
actually
go
forward
with
the
board,
engineers
will
definitely
contribute
as
well,
because
it's
just
it
just
will
be
anyway.
So
that's
a
good
point
and
yeah
I
mean
making
me
part
of
the
product
might
be
a
bit
more
tricky
because
of
a
few
things,
but
it
might
be
a
possibility
as
well.
C
D
Do
have
some
it
sort
of
is
like
integration
anyway,
but
weird
to
ship
these
actually
integrate
because,
like
I'm
not
matter
most,
for
instance,
so
yeah.
This
folio
koala
of
discussions
has
to
be
made
above
the
melting
it
with
the
with
the
product,
but
in
any
case
the
other
thing
this
is
going
to.
It
might
work
for
me
because
it
was
quite
easy
to
to
do
to
be
fair.
It's
like
API
is
pretty
straightforward
and
I
think
I
have
for
the
moment.
D
A
With
the
four
minutes
left,
I
still
have
my
CEO
shadow
hat
on
reminding
people
in
meetings
or
close
or
coming
to
end
of
scheduled
time.
I
still
have
that
in
my
brain,
so
we
have
four
minutes
left
in
scheduled
time.
Of
course,
we
can
go
over
if
we
need
to
well.
If
your
gaze
is
on
the
next
steps,
let's
put
let's
put
dr
eyes
on
each
so
put
together
a
slides
with
a
summary
of
plan
and
next
steps
who
wants
to
do
that?
That's.
B
A
D
B
C
B
Yeah
to
me,
like
it
so
I've
got
a
few
thoughts
here.
I
know
we're
running
out
of
time,
but
like
I
would
only
want
to
schedule
schedule
the
meeting
when
we
have
the
Box
kind
of
in
a
place
that
we
feel
confident
so
I
don't
so
maybe
we
can
push
out
the
in
and
also
I'm
I'm
a
little
worried
about
the
like
the
difference
in
escalation
from
weekday
to
weekend.
So
maybe
this
is
something
we
can
work
on
a
sink
as
how
how
to
make
that
process.
B
Clear
or
maybe
maybe
the
escalation
during
the
weekend
is
also
triggered
by
the
same
so
that
so
the
SR
is
only
note.
They
have
to
do
one
thing:
they
have
to
type
in
slash
incident
and
that
will
either
look
at
the
bot
to
do
the
random
schedule
or
it
will
look
in
the
spreadsheet
and
like
it,
you
know,
I
think
it's
more
complicated,
probably
to
go
through
a
spreadsheet
than
flying
the
line
you
know
in
wraps.
B
D
That
should
be.
This
would
be
easy
to
do.
I
think
the
only
thing
and
I
think
this
was
mentioned
as
well
I
mean.
Obviously
the
spreadsheet
is
a
bit
more
difficult,
still
possible,
but
if
we
can
translate
that
into
a
mole
or
Jason
spreadsheet,
then
that'd
be
much
easier.
I
mean
it's
just
probably
another
half
an
hour
work.
Okay,.
A
C
C
D
A
A
Sound
good,
perfect,
James
Nicholas
is
this
is
awesome
but
bad,
but
you
we've
been,
you
had
the
ideas
and
we've
been
according
on
it.
I
think
this
is
gonna,
be
we're.
Gonna
have
to
improve
it.
Asynchronously
of
course
sorry
I'm
iteratively,
of
course,
but
I
think
this
is
a
great
improvement
of
all
that
today,
yeah.
