Town of Groton Parks and Recreation Director, Mark Berry informs the Town of Groton what recreational facilities will be available over Memorial Day weekend.
Hi, this is mark berry, director of Parks and Recreation forgotten. I wanted to bring everybody up to date on what's happening around town as we reopen recreational facilities, great news is escrow. Point Beach is open. This weekend we do have limited parking. We will have a park ambassador and a police officer there to make sure that everyone is practicing safety, safe protocols, the bathroom is closed, but that's because it's under construction we did bring in an extra portlet and that is being sanitized on a regular basis.
Other facilities around town, basketball, court, volleyball courts, skate park all remain closed and that's to remain compliant with federal state and governor Lamont's executive orders. The tennis court at Farquhar will be open, one net will be up and we'll have signage up, providing instructional on safe for golf or playing tennis. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend. I hope everybody gets out and spends time with their family unless there's a fight. The difference.
