From YouTube: Town of Groton Mayor and Town Manager Update 6/24/20
Description
Groton Town Mayor Patrice Granatosky and Town Manager John Burt updates the community on the Town of Groton's services and resources available during this pandemic.
A
B
Latest
time,
copán
numbers
from
the
state
which
was
from
Monday
June
22nd
overall
for
the
state,
the
number
of
cases
so
far
has
been
45
thousand
eight
hundred.
Ninety
nine,
that
is
up
117
from
the
previous
day.
Koba
dissociated
deaths,
four
thousand
two
hundred
and
seventy
seven.
So
far.
That
is
a
fourteen.
B
From
the
previous
day,
patients
currently
hospitalized
238
as
down
two
and
then
number
of
kokand
19
tests
reported
four
hundred
and
1986,
which
is
up
43
hundred
ninety-six
from
the
day
before
in
terms
of
town
in
Groton,
we've
had
124
confirmed
and
probable
cases,
and
the
number
of
deaths
is
at
25.
I
also
wanted
update
people
on
a
few
Department
happenings
one.
The
Town
Hall
in
Town,
Hall
Annex
did
open
approximately
two
weeks
ago,
so
we
are
fully
open.
In
those
buildings
library
we
opened
Monday
modified
schedule,
10
a.m.
to
6
p.m.
B
during
the
week
we're
working
towards
getting
it
open
on
Saturday
very
soon.
So,
but
you
can,
we
ask
people
to
get
in
get
out.
There's
a
one
hour
limit
going
into
the
building,
want
to
keep
people
safe
to
keep
it
keep
as
few
people
as
possible
in
the
library,
Parks
and
Recreation
a
lot
happening.
This
week
we
open
up
restrooms
at
the
various
parks.
The
dog
park
is
open.
The
skate
park
is
open.
B
Playgrounds
league
play
for
volleyball
at
Eastern,
Point,
Beach,
mystic,
Little,
League,
we've
also
hired
park
ambassadors
last
week
to
monitor
various
locations
to
encourage
proper
Kogut
protocol
they'll
also
be
spraying
porta.
Let's
and
picnic
tables
for
germs.
Senior
Center
will
not
be
opening
inside
until
September,
most
likely
due
to
recommendations
of
the
statewide
Association
and
from
guidance
from
the
state.
This
is
due
to
the
vulnerability
of
the
population
Human
Services.
They
expect
the
need
for
food.
Rent
and
utility
assistance
will
continue
and
likely
increase
in
the
coming
months.
B
They
particularly
need
cash
in
grocery
store
gift
cards.
Yeah
note
is
back-to-school
supplies
and
holiday
programs
like
food
baskets
turkeys,
turkey,
vouchers
and
toys
will
be
gift
cards
only
this
year.
The
intent
is
to
lessen
interactions
and
potential
exposures
of
volunteers
donors,
recipients
to
staff,
to
the
coronavirus,
the
requesting
that
donors
consider
providing
either
gift
cards
or
cash
donations
to
be
used
to
purchase
these
gift
cards
to
donate.
You
can
either
go
to
the
town's
web
site
at
Groton,
TT
gov
and
go
to
the
Human
Services
page
you'll
see
a
donate
button.
B
You
can
click
on
that
to
donate
or
you
can
write
a
check
to
the
Groton
food
locker
or
to
the
Department
generally
at
and
send
it
to
to
Fort
Hill
Road
Groton
Connecticut
0

4
zero.
If
you
have
any
questions
on
that,
you
can
call
the
department
at
eight
six
zero,
four,
four
one:
six,
seven,
six:
six:
zero
again,
four:
four
one:
six:
seven:
six:
zero
back
to
you
mayor,
Thank,.
A
You
mr.
Burton
I
appreciate
all
that
information
and
they'll
be
phone
numbers
of
screen
for
you
when
this
is
being
viewed
online.
So
what
I
wanted
to
do
is
just
walk
you
through
a
few
things.
So
mr.
bird
talked
you
a
little
bit
about
the
status
of
Cobie,
19
and
community
participation.
I
wanted
to
talk
to
you
briefly
about
help
for
you,
governor
Lamont,
on
Monday,
encouraged
low
income
families
in
particular
to
file
their
income
tax.
A
That
way
they
may
qualify
for
pandemic
unemployment
and
coronavirus
economic
impact
aid,
and
there
is
a
program
called
vitae
vit,
a
Volunteer
Income
Tax,
Assistance
Program,
and
it
is
designed
to
help
you-
and
this
is
what
the
page
looks
like
when
you
go
to
the
website
that
I'm
going
to
show
you
next
and
it'll,
walk
you
through
everything.
You
need
to
do
if
you
haven't
filed
your
taxes
yet,
and
please
note
that
the
deadline
is
July
15th.
A
If
you
are
going
to
try
to
qualify
for
any
of
the
assistance,
and
that
is
the
website
that
you
would
go
to
to
get
help
with
your
taxes.
So
what
can
you
do
to
help
your
community?
We're
talking
about
dr.
Anthony,
Fauci
first
and
what
he
has
been
telling
us
as
far
as
where
we
are
in
the
pandemic,
we're
still
in
the
first
wave
of
the
pandemic
and
dr.
Fauci
is
urging
people
to
practice
social
distancing.
A
This
is
just
a
graph
showing
where
we
were
between
March
and
April,
and
you
can
see
that
the
United
States
and
the
EU
were
about
the
same
place,
but
unfortunately,
the
United
States
cases
have
not
dropped
as
they
have
in
the
EU.
So
we
are
still
in
that
first.
Wave
first
thing
you
can
do
is
wear
your
mask
and
here's
lots
of
people
with
different
masks
on
so
show
your
personality
and
wear
your
mask.
These
have
been
posted
before
telling
you
exactly
how
to
handle
masking
up
removing
the
mask,
how
you
should
care
for
it.
A
It
needs
to
be
washed,
just
graphics,
reminding
you
of
what
not
to
do,
and
in
particular,
if
you
look
on
the
lower
right
corner,
please
don't
wear
your
masks
like
this.
It
defeats
the
purpose.
If
your
nose
is
out
of
your
mouth
is
up,
or
if
it's
just
hanging
there
on
your
neck,
doesn't
do
you
any
good
to
have
the
mask
on?
Does
your
neighbors
not
any
good
to
have
the
mask
on?
A
So
here's
some
pictures
of
your
town
now
not
Ohio,
urging
you
to
wear
a
mask,
urging
you
to
social
distance,
just
reminders
from
mystic.
We
have
it
set
up
one-way
traffic.
If
you're
outside,
like
the
guy
on
the
left,
you
don't
need
a
mask,
but
if
you're
outside,
like
the
people
on
the
right,
you
need
a
mask
and
again
the
mask
is
to
protect
your
neighbors.
A
We
also
encourage
you
to
patronize
our
businesses
or
small
businesses,
but
we
need
you
to
be
respectful
of
the
owners
and
their
employees
and
your
neighbors,
who
are
also
visiting
there's
something
put
out
by
the
United
Food
and
Commercial
Workers
called
the
shop
smart
to
play.
Sorry
about
that
shop,
smart
pledge
and
what
they
would
like
you
to
do
is
to
pledge
to
keep
six
feet
apart
from
workers
and
from
each
other
when
you're
in
the
store
and
also
to
wear
a
mask.
A
You
know
these
people
that
are
in
the
stores
are
working
that
are
in
the
restaurants
they're
working
to
serve
you.
So
please
be
considerate
of
them
and
take
the
pledge
another
way
you
can
help.
Your
community
goes
to
what
mr.
Burt
was
talking
about
earlier,
as
far
as
the
needs
and
of
Human
Services,
and
we
have
to
go
fund
means
that
are
out
there
that
have
been
doing
amazing
work.
The
first
is
Groton
feeds
Groton,
and
this
is
the
one
where
you
can
kind
of
double
the
impact
of
your
money.
A
Where
you
buy
a
you,
donate
money
to
the
GoFundMe,
and
then
they
buy
restaurant
and
retail
store
gift
cards
and
they
donate
those
to
social
services.
The
second
is
safe
in
Groton,
and
this
was
set
up
by
three
teachers
at
Fitch
high
school,
and
it
does
a
similar
type
of
thing
you
donate
to
it.
They
buy
gift
cards
and
donate
them
to
Human
Services,
so
you're,
helping
both
the
businesses
and
you're
helping
your
neighbors,
who
might
be
in
need
and
last
but
not
least,
end
of
the
school
year.
A
Thanks
to
all
the
teachers
out
there
who
did
their
job
under
great
pressure
and
change
in
circumstances.
We
appreciate
all
you've
done
and
last
but
not
least,
congratulations
to
the
class
of
2020
good
job.
Every
buddy
you
made
it
through
all
right,
that's
all
I
have
mr.
Burt.
Do
you
have
any
other
notices
or
anything
else
she
wanted
to
add
at
this
point,
nothing.
