traceability

customers

able

companies

sustainability
initiatives,

our

was

logical
extension

be
able
to
support
them
in
the
progress
in
that
aspect,

that's
where
we
realized
a
lot
of
these
use
cases
that
we
could
cover
for
sustainability
when
I
say
sustainability,
it
could
be.

can
we
improve
farmer
income?
How
can
we
support
gender
equality?
How
can
we
reduce
child
labor
right?
So
there
are
so
many
different
aspects
of
sustainability
that
we've
covered
as
part
of
the
platform,
and
we
could
support
all
of
these
initiatives
for
most
of
most
of
our
customers
and
soon
we
realized
one
of
the
major
or
the
most
important
aspect
of
sustainability
ended
up
being
carbon
and
the
greenhouse
gas
emission.

we
manage
that-

this
has
become
the
most
talked
about
and
most
difficult
kind
of
a
subject
for
most
companies?
Everybody
wants
to
be
carbon
neutral,
carbon
positive,
but
there
there's
very
little
information
or
there
is
so
much
of
complexity
to
be
able
to
understand
the
subject
and
be
able
to
take
necessary
action.

that's
where
we
and
we
being
in
the
space
of
food
and
agree
and
rehability.
We
realized
there's
so
much
of
data
that
we
are
able
to
capture.
There
is
so
much
of
information
across
the
supply
chain
that
we
are
able
to
gather
from
various
different
sources
right
from
the
farmer,
till
the
entire
the
final
produce
being
shipped
to
a
you
know,
consumer.
So
we
realized
we
could
we
had
a
lot
of
value
that
we
could
provide
in
terms
of
carbon
emission
accounting
reduction
and
also
offsets.

is
I'll
talk
about
the
use
case,
then
I'll
talk
about
what
we
are
offering
as
a
solution
and
then
we'll
talk
about
some
use
cases
or
be
a
real
implementation
of
how
we
were
able
to
achieve
this
with
some
of
our
customer
case
studies
right,
that's
going
to
be
the
general
flow
of
all
the
use
cases
now,
I'll
start
with
first
and
most
basic
Foundation
element.
That
is
traceability.

is
the
first
pillar
of
our
product.
Why
do
we
need
traceability?
Like
I
was
talking
about
the
supply
chain
in
food,
and
agribusinesses
are
extremely
complex
right
from
the
plantation
it
could
be
small
world
of
farmings.
It
could
be
group
of
farmers
who
are
probably
you
know,
shipping
their
produce
two
aggregator
an
aggregator
then
sends
it
to
a
mill.
It
could
be
an
agent,
it
gets
exported
to
a
different
Age
Country
or
it
could
be.
You
know
for
a
simple
example
like
coffee
right.
It
gets
roasted
it
gets
distributed.

It
can
either
go
to
a
restaurant,
it
can
go
to
a
retail
outlet
where
you
buy
a
pack
of
coffee
and
you
are
the
or
it
can
get
brewed
in
a
coffee
shop
and
you're
sipping
on
your
coffee
right.
So
there
are
so
many
different
players-
and
this
is
mind
you,
a
very
small
subset
of
the
supply
chain.
It
can
even
get
complex
than
this.
There
could
be
multiple
distribution
channels,
there
could
be
multiple
agents,
there
could
be
quality
certification
agency.
There
could
be
lab
tests
right.
A
There
are
so
many
different
players
that
can
participate
in
this
whole
supply
chain
and,
and
each
of
them
can
be
in
a
very
different
geographical
region.
They
could
be.
You
know
the
plantation
could
be
in
India
somewhere
in
the
western
guards
being
sold
to
somewhere.
In
you
know,
Europe
and
processing
happens
somewhere
else,
and
the
final
buyer
could
be
the
Starbucks
in
the
US
right.

So
there
are
so
many
different
participants
and
how
do
we
want
to-
and
there
is
very
little-
you
know,
channels
that
they
can
communicate
on
single
platform.
There
are
each
of
them
have
different
abilities.
There
are
restrictions
on
the
way
they
are
able
to
use
the
applications
they
are
able
to
share
data.
There
are
no
common
platforms
that
can
be
that
can
bring
everybody
into
the
same
network
right
and
it's
extremely
difficult
to
comply
with
quality
and
food
safety
measures.

So
this
is
the
premise
with
which
we
start
our
journey
and
the
need
for
traceability
and
one
option
or
one
solution
that
we
are
proposing,
or
we
are
looking
to
provide
to
this
entire
problem
is
to
be
able
to
bring
the
entire
value
chain
on
one
common
platform
right
from
the
farmers.
It
could
even
be
the
producing
Farmers
or
it
could
be
input
supplying
Farmers
right.
So
there
could
be
multiple
again.
Each
of
these
levels
can
be
broken
down
into
multiple
different
personas.

are
able
to

produce
a
particular
crop

particular
problem
commodity
that
gets.

are
able
to

the

pesticides,

multiple
logistic
partner

able

see
how

the
produce
maintained
for
a
period
of

is
your

use
cases
that
we
talk
about
are

the
point
of
collection
of
milk
from
a
Dairy
Farmer
till
the
consumption
of
the
milk.

old
is
the
milk

So
many
of
us
don't
even
know
how
old
is
the
milk
that
we
are
consuming
and-
and
these
are
things
that
you're
able
to
capture
in
certain
use
cases
right?
It
becomes
extremely
important
about
the
time
time,
stamping
the
location.

is
the
process
that
went
right
and
at
each
stage
we
are
able
to
capture
at
a
very
granular
level
the
carbon
emissions
right
right
at
the
farm
level?
What
is
the
utilizer
that
it
went
in?
What
is
the
you
know,
fuel
consumption?
What
is
the
electricity
consumption?
What
is
the
water
consumption
that
we
are
able
to
do
and
this
becomes
the
Bedrock,
and
this
becomes
the
most
critical
aspects
of
carbon
accounting
because
we're
able
to
capture
data
at
such
granular
levels
at
each
point
in
the
supply
chain.

solution
so
much
more
accurate
because
most
of
you
may
be
knowing
carbon
accounting
mostly
becomes
an
excise
of
assumption
and
estimation
with
data
being
provided.

know
on
a
very
high
level
right,

able

is

provide
the
most
accurate,
at
least
most
the
the
most.
You
know
reliable
kind
of
a
data
that
you
can
base
it
on
real
information
that
we're
capturing
on

ground

verifying

data,

inputted

the
farmers
and
they're,

process
level
checks
in
terms
of
let's

terms

particular
set

have
been
provided
with
the
inputs,
we
know
what

the
remaining
amount
of
pesticides.

there
is
different
kind

variation
testing
which
we
can
use
to
understand.

from
a
data
accuracy,
standpoint

is

claiming

can

course
you

are
eliminating
a
lot
of
manual
errors.

really
want
to
input
the
bad
data
into
the
system,

think

intent
from
an
intent
perspective.

process
perspective

emerging
economies
like
us,
India
and
similar
economies,

southeast
Asia

stuff,

that
it

it
is
largely
a
smallholder
ecosystem,
driven

problem.

always
a
digitization
of
these
applications
at
the
farm
level.
It's
a
very
common
problem
that
everyone
faces.
Therefore,
largely
these
digitization
initiatives
are
orchestrated
at
the
ground
level.

advisory
advisors
to
Resource
institutions,
to
ngos
that
work
closely
with
regional
farmers
and
so
on
and
so
forth.
So
largely
the
data
that
is
captured
is
from
those
that

vested
interest
in
running
the
project.

gunning
anything

when
I
say
that
largely
there
is,
there
is
a
attempt
made
to
capture
data

as
accurate
as
possible,

there
are
also
not
just
about
capturing.

drone

imagery

thesis

building

access

data

connected
supply
chain
