involved
in
the
public-ish
blockchain
space
for
a
very
long
time
and,
more
recently,
as

about
a
year
ago,
joined
digital
asset
and
started
exploring
the
private
space
a
bit
more.
I
think
that
distributed
ledgers
and
blockchains
in
the
private
realm
are
actually
quite
interesting
and
do
different
things
that
we
don't
always
see
in
the
public
realm
and
in
that
ways
they're
a
lot
more
like
very
interesting.

first
question
you
might
have
you
know
is
like
why
demo
don't
we
already
have
all
the
programming
languages?
We
need
and
you've
probably
seen
this
slide
already,
because
I
actually
totally
went
to
it,
but
we
don't
well.
We
actually
end
up
with
both
in
the
blockchain
distributed,
ledger
space
and
just
in
general,
is
we
get
a
lot
of
languages
that
do
the
same
thing
in
different
ways?

So
you'll
we
basically
have
the
overall
majority
of
every
single
language
we
use
is
imperative
and
declarative
and
class-based,
and
that's
largely
what
we
what
we
do
nowadays,
but
and
then
we
come
down
to
the
blockchain
space
itself.
You
know
we

up
with
these
same
types
of
languages
that
behave
a
lot
like
their
contemporaries,
but
they
have
wildly
different
concerns.

there's
a
lot
of
choices
you
have
to
make
about
how
you
view
the
world
and
how
you
program
that
just

not
well
represented
with
the
current.

know,
programming
paradigms
that
we
have
and
just
quickly,
there's
a
question

there
a
protocol
team
such
as
bip
or
eip
within
demo?
No,
there
is
not.
We
actually
don't
have
any
bips
or
I
don't
know
how
I
would
pronounce
eips
out
there.

Basically,
when
we
we
actually
do
have
demo
on
best

though,
and
what
we
do
there
is,
we
basically
commit
data
to
the
chain.
You'll
actually
see
kind
of
how
we
structure
demo
in
a
little
bit
and
kind
of
how
the
dom
driver
slash
runtime
works
such
that
it
makes
it
a
very
portable
language
but
yeah
to
answer
the
question
briefly.
We
actually
don't
have
any
bips,
because
we
don't
actually
execute
directly
on
blockchains.
We
execute
adjacently
and
then
use
them
for
data
storage.

really
like
that's
kind
of
giving
it
a
bit
away

that

differs

what
it
does
and
really
what
damo
does
and
does
best

becomes
a
portable
language
and
really
a
whole
tech
stack
for
distributed
ledgers

lets
us
construct,
ledgers

design
distributed
applications

such
a
way
that
we
don't
have
to
worry
about
tying
it
so
much
to
our
infrastructure
when
we
first
begin
the
design
phase
of
our
application

encounter
infrastructures

might
make
more
sense
to
us.

the
more
distributed

for
these
much
more
distributed.
Architectures
and
when
you
write
your
program
once
to
say,
work
in
your
sandbox
or
work
on
sql
and
then
it'll
also
work
on
fabric
it'll
work
on
sawtooth

there's
really
no
global
state
in
demo,
there
could
be
if
you
were
just
deploying
it
to
sql
and
managing
it
from
a
single
participant
node,
but
really
in
the
larger
scheme
of
things.
The
idea
is
that
you
and
those
you're,
interacting

the
parts
of
the
ledger
you're
supposed
to
and
don't
see
the
parts
you're
not
supposed
to
and
we'll
I'll
kind
of
show
that
a
little
bit
in
the
in
the
slide,
where
I
show
off
a
little
bit
of
the
demo
code.

both
this
fabric
ledger
over
here
and
the
sawtooth
ledger,
have
the
same
data
when
they
shouldn't.
So
that's
what
we
mean
by
that,
depending
on
your
definition
of
atomic.
That
may
or
may
not
be

atomic

the
traditional
sense,
but
we're
essentially
basically
just
explicitly
stating
that
when
somebody
has
a
concern
with
demo
they're
able
to.

way

damo's
runtime.

know

where
we
say
demo
runtime
what
the
demo
runtime
does
is
it
controls
the
execution
of
code

ledger

running.
On
top
of
that
this
runtime
driver
is
running,
alongside

it,
commits
data
to
it
and
uses
it
for
the
data
persistence
and
for
consensus.

there's
no
actual
logic
executing
when
I
say
a
demo
on
fabric
application,
there's
no
actual
logic,
that's
executing
on
fabric
other
than
to
store
and
retrieve
data,
and
then
fabric
is
going
ahead
and
keeping
consensus,

so
the
way
demo
applications
work
and
talk
to
each
other
as
you
connect
them
to
your
node
and
you'll,
see
a
real
life.

That's
what
manages
all

logic

getting
data
back
and
forth.
