Trust Data Sharing and Utilization Infrastructure for Sensitive Data using Hyperledger Avalon - Koshi Ikegawa & Nao Nishijima, Hitachi, Ltd.

In the World Economic Forum 2019, Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT) was advocated. Especially for some domains such as medical institutions and governments, where privacy protection is essential, it must handle sensitive data such as healthcare data and personal information. A distributed ledger technology makes it possible to share data among multiple organizations with trust. However, it is not suitable for sensitive data because the distributed ledger discloses stored data to all organizations. In this research, we solve the problem with an approach to store the sensitive data on external storage in a specific organization for each data to avoid sharing the data with all organizations.

This is my first time to participate in hyperedge global forum today, I'd like to talk about trust, data sharing and utilization infrastructure for sensory data using hyperledger.

Demand for plus data sharing and utilization is increasing around the world. The concept of data free flow with trust, called dfft, was proposed at the world economic forum 2019.

One of the fourth point of the fft is cross-border data flow, such as across countries or across industries.

Blockchain is required to realize cross-border data flows.

There are many types of data to share such as many types of open data and many types of sensitive data.

Our focus point is health care data.

A

Background we introduced our use case.

A

We created an infrastructure to manage and utilize genome data in multiple organizations and have confirmed proof of concept.

In this use case, multiple organizations are participating in a blockchain network for gaining data sharing.

A
