Demo: Infrastructure for Managing, Sharing, and Utilizing Sensitive Data using Hyperledger Fabric Private Chaincode Running on Microsoft Azure - Koshi Ikegawa, Hitachi, Ltd.

In the World Economic Forum 2019, Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT) was advocated. Especially for some domains such as medical institutions and governments, where privacy protection is essential, it must handle sensitive data such as healthcare data and personal information. Distributed ledger technologies such as Hyperledger Fabric make it possible to share data among multiple organizations with trust. However, it is not suitable for sensitive data because the distributed ledger discloses stored data to all organizations. Hyperledger Fabric has implemented features such as Channel and Private Data Collection to handle sensitive data. In addition, Hyperledger Fabric Private Chaincode allows transactions and data to be executed in a confidential manner by running chaincode on a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) which is a CPU security feature. However, it requires a special machine with TEE. At the beginning of this presentation, Koshi will introduce OSS distributed ledger technologies, starting with Hyperledger Fabric Private Chaincode. Next, Koshi will introduce one of their use cases and show how to run Fabric Private Chaincode on Microsoft Azure.

Hello, I'm Koshi ikegawa from static research under Development Group at Japan, I'm, very happy to have this opportunity to present my work today, I'd like to talk about infrastructure for managing sharing and utilizing sensitive data using hypertrophobic private chain code running on Microsoft azure.

This is the contents of this presentation.

First I will explain some background on the market, needs and explain. Introduction.

A

Background according to the world economic Forum 2019, the realization of data free flow with trust dffft is a top priority for the new economy, as a mean to the to realize dffd. We expect the utilize of blockchain Technology.

A

A feature of blockchain is that transactions and data content are shared and written to our Ledger by all participating organizations.

A

There are open data that can be shared by all organizations and their sensitive data that need to be controlled to whom it is shared when hunting sensitive data privacy protection is required by laws.

A

Hybridger fabric private chain code enables the execution of Chain chords using trusted execution environment for high pressure fabric. It protects the privacy of chain, core data and computation from potentially untrusted peers.

A

It allows to write chain code application where that, where the data is encrypted on The Ledger and can only be accessed in Korea by authorized organizations, Android users, foreign.

A

State execution environment is a security feature that prevents external attacks by executing program in none area called an enclave that is isolated from the operating system.

A

There are technologies that create engraved on memory as a function of the CPU, such as Intel, sgx and untrust Zone other technologies that make the battery machine itself and engraved the fabric flap chain called implementation uses inter sgx.

Interest GX is a is an inter CPU feature that creates an encrypted area called and engraved in London access memory and it loads programs and data into engrave, allowing programs to be executed while protecting sensible data.

I explain why we choose Microsoft Azure for running fabric private chain code by using butter machines created using infrastructure as a service. There is no need to prepare or manage your own Mass hardware.

A

However, only a few infrastructure as a service provider offer better machines with interest GX that can use fabric private chain code. Microsoft Azure can create better machines with breathing interest CPUs that can use into sgx.

A

In this section, I will explain our motivation for this presentation.

A

I introduced about use case, we created an infrastructure to manage and utilize Canon data in multiple organizations.

A

In this use case, multiple organizations are participating in a blockchain network for genome data, sharing a focus Point login data must not be passed on to other organizations, because the data is sensible data.

A

Therefore analyze that data on the processor of the data owner organization and pass only the results to other organizations.

A

This use case scenario will be explained in more detail in the demonstration section below.

Our related to work system architecture have a problem when hunting sensible data subprogram is that the unrelated organization can access the details of the transaction of organization, 1 and organization 2.

Our motivation is to solve the problem by keeping transactions and data exchanges secret from unrelated organizations.

A

We can keep transactions and the data exchange secret from unrelated organizations using public private chain code.

A

Foreign threat, our system first I, will explain our demo system architecture. Next I'll explain our chain code install in the system and client program in the order of the following scenario:.

Are explains the demo system architecture to realize our motivation, we prepared a butter machine with Intel sgx on Microsoft azure.

A

The machine spec is, as shown on the thread. Only East U.S location can create this sheet. 2 S3s butter machines with interest GX.

We used fabric samples to launch the fabric fabric blockchain Network, in which organizations want and organization to participate.

Each organization has an external data storage for storing genome data and a data analyzer for analyzing that data.

A

Our chain code is installed to run on trusted execution environment using fabric private chain code.

A

The user invoke and or query the chain code and stores The genome data into storage via the client program.

Here's an overview of a simple simplified demo system, I visualize, the contents of the state database in table.

First, the doctor in organization 1 throughout the general data into data storage via the client program.

A

Next, the client writes The genome metadata, Into The Ledger.

A

Some metadata here includes the name of the data ownership, information, consent, information and the hash value of the genome data.

Next, the organization 2 doctor search the general metadata written in The Ledger for the search. The get data function of chain code is queried.

This function returns a risk of patient patient consent that metadata.

In the previous step, if the organization 2 doctor finds data that she or she wants to utilize, invoke request permission function of the chain code,.

The function of chain called right: the requested MSP ID to The Ledger MSB ID stands for membership service provider id and you need create identified on an organization and its users.

Organization, one doctor checks if there is a request or permission if the doctor approves the request, the doctor invoke approved permission function of the chain code.

Third function checked that the approval MSP ID and the data owner MSP ID are equal if they I go. The function writes the requested MSP ID in the permission field to The Ledger and removes the MSP ID in the requester field.

The doctor in organization 2 invokes the requested request task function of chain called after obtaining permissions.

A

The function writes requester, MSP, ID and analyze analysis conditions into radio.

A

The client automatically equally the task request and all that the data analyzer to analyze it the data, analyzer, rows, low genome data from data storage and execute the analyze analysis.

Finally, the client invoke- writes, rightly results function of chain code for write, the results of that data, analyzer analysis, Into, The, Ledger,.

In background and introduction section I explained some background on the market needs and I explained introductions that includes what we are doing with public private chain code. Next I explained the motivation for this demonstration.
