the

into
your
cloud
service,
you
can
install
Linux
or
use
Linux
locally
on
your
own
laptop.
So
I'll
do
that
now:
I'm
gonna
search
for
Linux.
If
I
can
find

their
search
was
choose

It
is
so
I'll
choose
a
bun
too
and
there's
several
a
bunch
of
selections.

gonna
choose

1604,
which

a
long

we're

hard
drive,

takes

gig

and

What
we're
gonna
do
so
the
goal
is
to
have
your
own
environment.
So
if
you
were
to
follow
along
by
the
end
of
this
you'll,
have
your
own
environment
up
and
running
the
difference
between
fabric
and
composer
composer
is
kind
of
the
the
training
wheels
for
hyper
ledger.
So
you
get
less
features,
but
you
get
way
more
ease
of
use.

real
corporation
wouldn't
use
composer
at
all
composer
limits.
Some
of
the
major
security
features
in
hyper
ledger,
but
composers,
a
great
learning
environment.
So,
for
this
install
the,
if
you
just
installed
composer,
it
would
be
a
lot
easier,
but
we're
going
to
install
hyper
ledger
fabric
first,
which
is
the
corporate
version,
so
you
get
kind
of
a
real
idea
of
what
it
takes
to
install
it
and
then,
when
we're
done
with
that,
we'll
switch
over
to
composer
and
it's
just
like
one
more
command
and
then
that'll
be
done.

You
can
run
hyper
ledger
in
a
Windows
environment,
I've
seen
a
lot
of
text
for
it
on
their
website,
but
you
know:
I
teach,
hyper,
ledger
and
I've
heard
from
the
community
that
people
run
into
issues
and
then
that
they
don't
get
the
support.
So
I
recommend
that
you
use
Linux
or
a
Mac,
but
you're
welcome
to
try
with
windows
you
could
you
could
follow
along
with
this,
try
it
with
Windows,
and
if
you
have
success,
let
us
know
I've
tried
it
with
Windows
and
failed,
and
then
I
didn't
really
try
much
harder.

environment,
you
can
learn
your
version
with
any

commands
and
again
you
can
use
the
PowerPoint

copy
any
commands
you
want,

once
we

Linux,

we're

gonna
run
this
apt-get
update
and
upgrade,
which
will
kind
of
make
my
Linux
current.
It's
like
a
Windows
Update
I
was
definitely
a
Windows
user
for
more
than
20
years.
So
I'm
most
most
familiar
with
that
environment.

so
these
are,
they

they're

just
connect
to

environment,

Amazon
gives
you
a
little

basically
all
you

to
know

username

stop

cloud

there
a
way
to
do
a
test
net
or
something
on
your
own
without
without
paying
for
the
cloud

once
you've
got
your
Linux
environment
set
up
and
running
and
you've
got
discs.
You've
got
memory,
your
Linux
is
up
to
date.
The
next
step
is
to
install
all
the
prerequisites
before
hyper
ledger
once
these
are
all
installed
and
that
the
proper
versions
hyper
ledger
installs
in
about
two
minutes.

But
basically
what
I'm
gonna
be
trying
to
do
over
the
next
half
an
hour
or
so
is
work
through
this
list
and
get
all
these
versions
up
to
date
and
then
at
the
end,
we'll
verify
it
and
then
we'll
run
the
one
hyper
ledger,
command
and
we'll
be
we'll
be
done
with
fabric,
and
then
we
can
repeat
it
for
composer.
But
since
this
is
done
composer,
it's
just
like
one
more
command
and
then
composing
stem
as
well
all
right.
So
the
first
command
is
curl.

If
you
have
a
Windows
machine,
you'll
have
to
install
curl,
it
doesn't
come
by
default
so
that
one
that's
very
easy.
The
next
one
is
node.
So
node
is
a
programming
language.
It's
JavaScript,
usually
depending
on
which
web
browser
you're,
using
whether
you're
using
IE
or
Chrome
or
Firefox
they'll
all
come
with
their
own
JavaScript
execution.
Environment.

Node
is
basically
that
same
JavaScript
execution
environment,
but
without
the
web
browser.
So
you
just
install
it
directly
on
your
server
and
the
nice
thing.
Is
you
can
run
JavaScript
commands
without
the
web,
so
you
could
replace
shell
commands
that
kind
of
thing
along
with
node
you
get
this
NPM,
which
is
the
node
package
manager,
and
that
lets
you
install
packages
of
software,
and
this
thing
is
so
popular
now
a
lot
of
you
guys.
This
is
probably
old
news,
but
a
lot
of
software.

You
just
install
the
node
version
of
it
and
a
lot
of
this
software
that
we're
about
to
install
comes
in
a
node
packaged
version.
So
that's
very
nice,
but
one
of
the
things
about
node
is
there's
several
versions
of
node
out
there
and
several
versions
of
node
package
manager,
and
so
now
you
need
this
node
version
manager,
in
addition
to
them,
so
that
you
can
be
on
the
right
version
of
node
as
you're
stalling
installing
your
software.
So
we're
going
to
install
all
three
of
those
and
the
way
we're
going
to
do.

nvm,
is
the
version
manager.
It
can
install
multiple
versions
of
node,
and
so
installing
node
is
very
easy.
After
that,

want
to
install
for
Hyper
ledger.
I
would
recommend
this
version
and
not
version
9,
so
we'll
run
that.

This
is
an
old
version,

You
can't
install
go
from
sudo,
but
it's
not
the
version
that
hyper
legend
requires.

so
the
next
one
is
to
install
the
Google
RPC
library.
The
nice
thing
about
this
RPC
library
is
it's
a
part
of
nodejs.
We
can
use
node
to
install
it
and
anytime.
You
run
an
NPM,
install
command
you're
using
node,
and
it
makes
life
very
easy
for
you.
So
this
one
should
be
a
one-liner
and
then
we'll
move
past.
It.

It
doesn't
come
up
or
your
operating
system
in
this
case,
Ubuntu
is
telling
me
that
there's
a
couple
ways
to
install
Python
hyper
leger
does
not
it's
not
compatible
with
python
3.
It's
compatible
with
the
older
python
2
7.
So
you
want
to
use
the
python
minimal
option
and
you
can
just
do
this
command.
Sudo
apt,
install
python,
minimal
I've
got
that
command
on
the
slide.
It's
nice
that
the
OS
tells
us
how
to
do
this
and
your
OS
might
be
different.

And
I
see
that
there's
a
version
of
git
installed
when
I
go
out
on
the
web.
Git
is
up,
2.20
I'm,
just
gonna,
leave
it
at
this
old
2.7
and
it
seems
to
work.
So,
let's
get
past
that
okay
and
one
of
the
last
things
that
we
install
is
docker,
are
you
guys
familiar
with
docker,
already
half
of
you?
Okay,
so
docker
is
basically
like
a
virtual
machine
software.
It
allows
you
to
run
a
computer
within
a
computer,
and
one
of
the
features
of
docker
is
that
the
operating
system
files
are
shared.

So
if
you're
running
five
computers
on
one
server,
then
you
don't
have
to
install
the
operating
system
five
times
it's
it's
shared
between
those
five,
which
can
be
good
or
bad,
but
docker
has
proven
very
popular
and
kubernetes
is
kind
of
the
next
generation
of
docker.
The
docker
company
might
not.
Think
of
that.
But
and
the
industry
is
very
excited
about
kubernetes
and
the
cloud,
and
it's
all
to
me,
it's
all
the
same
technology.
It's
basically
a
more
efficient,
newer,
vm
technology,
so
hyper
ledger
uses
docker
even
in
production.

So
you
have
kind
of
a
source
and
then
multiple
targets.
So
dock
is
very
important.
If
you
don't
have
docker,
you
won't
have
hyper
ledger.
So,
let's
go
ahead
and
install
it
to
install
docker
I
didn't
copy
all
the
commands,
it's
quite
a
long,
not
too
bad,
but
it's
a
longer
install
so
I
just
used
the
their
website
as
a
reference.
So
let's
go
out
there
and
we're
using
the
community
edition,
which
is
their
free
one.

They
have
an
Enterprise
Edition,
we're
also
using
the
docker
engine,
which
is
their
back-end
components,
we're
not
using
the
full
docker
UI
and
all
the
the
bells
and
whistles
hyper
ledger
just
kind
of
sends.
The
commands
in
the
background
to
docker
and
all
you
need,
is
the
engine,
so
I'm
gonna
click
on
the
version
of
my
operating
system,
which
is
a
bun
and
I'm
running
I.
Think
I
can
just
click
the
whole
tab
do
I
have
to
click.
One
of

so
this
is
the
page
that
I
installed
it
from
and
the
reason
I
didn't
link
this
in
the
slides
is
I,
don't
know
if
you're,
using
Ubuntu
or
not
and
there's
about
six
other
options
on
how
to
install
docker
for
various
operating
systems.
So
you
guys
can
choose
which
one
you
want.
So
we
don't
have
to
uninstall
an
old
version.
We
can
just
go
straight
to
the
install,
so
it's
asking
us
to
run
update
which
we
did
earlier,
but
we've
made
some
changes
since
then.
So,
let's
go
and
run
that.

a
note
on

check
the
data
location
if
you're
installing
docker
on
a
clean
server
like
I,
did
today,
I,
don't
think
you
have
to
worry
about
the
location,
I've
tested
installing
hyper
ledger:
I'm,
not
exactly
sure
how
to
check
this
and
verify
it,
but
hyper
ledger
installs,
just
fine!
So
if
it's
in
a
writable
location,
if
you
already
have
docker
installed-
and
it's
going,
you
know
to
your
personal
directory
or
something
you
may
have
to
change
the
location
before
you
can
run
hyper
ledger.

we've

docker
compose
on
there
and
it
runs.
It
shows
us
its
version.
Number
I,
believe
that
is
the
last
prereq
step,
so
I've
got
kind
of
the
same
slide
that
I
had
earlier
I'm,
not
going

checks,
but
I
am
just
by
memory.
If
you
guys
bought
something
we
haven't
installed.

used
it

node.

installed

used
it
afterwards.

it's
part

node,

PC

package,
a
node
package
that
we
installed
Python.
We
use
the
operating
system
version,
get
we
also
use
the
operating
system
version
docker
we
just
went
through,
so
that's
it
for
the
prerequisites.

nvm
is
a
version
manager,
so
nvm
is
never
used,
but
it's
it's.
You
use
it
to
install
node,
so
there's
10
different
versions
of
no
doubt
there
are
actually
probably
40
different
versions
and
in
VM
helps
you
pick
which
version
you're
using.
But
the
software
like
hyper
ledger
would
never
use
nvm,
never
say
never,
but.

Composure
is
kind
of
your
your
training
wheels
or
your
entry
point
into
learning,
hyper
ledger,
and
quite
honestly,
that's
where
I'm
at
I'm
still
working
with
composer
myself,
if
I
didn't
have
composer
I,

able
to
use
hyper
ledger
at
all.
It's
there's
a
lot
of
archaic
commands
and
I
list,
some
of
those
in
my
PowerPoint,
so
we'll
install
it,
but
we're
not
really
gonna
go
much
beyond
that.
As
soon
as
we're
done,
installing
hyper
ledger.
We're
gonna
switch
over
to
a
composer
and
install
that
which
will
go
very
fast,
should
go
very
fast.

we

figure
out
where
we're
gonna
put
fabric
and
the
suggested
location
from
their
website
is
just
a
folder
called
fabric
samples.
You
could
put
this
folder
anywhere,
you
want
so
we're
just

This
is
the
same
location
that
we've
been
working
out
of
the
whole
time
and
then
there's
basically
one
command
so
fabric
installs,
very
easy.

command
is
just
to

basically
run
this
bootstrap

can
look

github

look

the
contents
of
this
and
to
see
what
it's
doing.
It's
pulling
down
a
bunch
of
docker
images
and
putting
it

new
folder

fabric
samples
and

fabric
samples.

haven't
even
created
that
yet
it's
gonna
create
that.
For

Those
are
the
servers
think
of
those
as
servers
in
the
docker
in
the
hyper
ledger,
Network
and
depending
on
how
you
configure

fabric

dev
environment
or
a
production
with
multiple
nodes.
Your
partners
might
be
running
some
and
you're
running
some,
so
these
are
kind
of
the
source
for
all
the
nodes,
and
all
of
these
will
be
different.

generally
you
would
want
to
make

your
servers
purpose
is

run
hyper,
ledger

be
reading
these

you
don't
want
to

doing

if

simply

graphical
interface
and
nothing
more
IBM
hosts
a
site,
we
could
just
go
on
Google
and
say
IBM
composer,
and
you
just

it
directly.
You

install
anything,
but
we're
gonna
make
it.
We
made
it
hard
on
ourselves,
so
we've
installed
it
now.
We're
gonna
use
our
own
composer
playground,
we're
not
going
to
depend
on
IBM's
version.

installed
it
twice
once
for
fabric
and
once
for
composer,
so
if
I
use
the
DF
command.
Let
me
stop
my
web
server

Control

we

I
use

My
hard
drive

only
46%
used.
I
have
a
16
gig
hard
drive,
virtual
hard
drive
and
I'm
less
than
eight
gigs
used.
Each
installation
was
about
three
and
a
half
gigs
and
then
Linux
was
around
a
gig.

is
working
my
home
windows,
oh
okay,
sorry
any
gotchas.
The
node
was
probably
the
hardest
one,
just
as
cutting
and
pasting
didn't
really
work
correctly,
so
I'd
to
run
a
couple
of
different
commands,
but
yeah,
it's
pretty
straightforward,
actually
there's
much
easier
than
I
thought,
because
I've
tried
about
eight
months
ago
and
failed.
Oh.

So
it's
it's
basically
because
in
the
October
release
of
Windows
there's
a
thing
called
windows
subsystem
for
linux
mm-hmm.
So
you
enable
that
and
then
once
you
enable
that,
then
you
install
and
Mbutu
from
the
Windows
Store.
And
then
you
get
a
bash
shell
on
Windows.
It's
not
a
virtual
machine
and
then
I
ran
I
installed
docker
for
Windows
and
just
it
just
went
I
followed
a
lot
of
the
stuff
that
you
did
just
right
online
and
follow
the
instructions
and
it
just
worked.
Excellent
great
I'll,
try
Windows
again.
That
I
think
is
a
realistic.
