using
blockchain.
In
our
case,
we
are
using
ibm's
platform,
which
is
powered
by
hyperledger
in
our
various
5g
use
cases
in
which
we
show
end-to-end
network
deployment
and
automation
for
5g
and
edge
solutions.

the
new
technology
standard
for
telcos
that
provides
more
network,
agility,
faster
deployment,
more
availability

this

usage

virtualization

the
network
front

it

of
the
new
network
virtualization.

new
telecom
core
as
new
core

new
radio
which
can
be
easily
spinned
up

bring

virtualization
technologies
and

it
enables

use
cases

iot

Then
it
takes
us
into
the
concept
of
edge
with
what
does

edge
computing

a

latency

landscape.

entire
picture

to
give
a
little
bit
of
a
overview.

basically,
you
see
that
how
we
have
industrial
data
centers
and
application
centers,
where
there
could
be
many
different
applications
and
even
physical
devices
like
iot
devices,
sensors,
even
user
devices.

a
cluster
of
edge
devices
here
and
then
these
can
be
used
at
various
locations
like
like
a
stadium
like
a
customer,
hub,
etc,
and
then
how
this
is
connected
to
different
5g
and
networks.
And
then,
basically,
this
brings
up
the
division
between
the
customer
edge
on
the
industry
edge
and
the
network
edge.
And
then
this
5g
and
network
edge
can
be
connected
to
public
and
private
cloud
and
then
also
to
other
network
interfaces
like
wi-fi
or
any
other
connectivity
medium.

this
kind
of
explains
the
the
different
landscape
landscape
that
we're
looking
at
the
the
reason
to
bring
it
up
in
this
presentation
is
that
how
this
brings
up
a
high
opportunity
for
blocks
application
of
a
ledger
technology
like
blockchain,
because
now
in
this
landscape,
there
are
many
multiple
players
that
are
working
together
to
to
bring
this
ecosystem
working
end
to
end.
So
there
might
be
physical
equipment
providers
for
different
sensors
handsets
and
other
user
devices.

might
be
a
licensing
or
the
virtualization
technology
vendors
who
are
providing
network
functions
to
create
this
network
edge
and
the
edge
clusters,
and
then
there
might
be
other
cloud
providers
that
provide
the
public
and
private
cloud
just

So
that's
the
reason
we
are
using
or
highlighting
these
use
cases
where
you're
using
blockchain
and
hyperledger
to
enable
this
ecosystem.

this
is
just
a
small
list
of
different
industry.
Use
cases
that
we're
working
on
spectrum
management
is
a
very
good
use
case
with
5g,
as
you
know
that
the
different
spectrums
available
in
different
geographic
graphical
locations
are
limited.
So,
there's

lot
of
transactions
and
a
lot
of
details
into
how
these
spectrums
are
bought
or
even
leased
out
to
different
telcos
when
they
need
to
use
it
same
concept
applies
on
infrastructure
management
as
well.

today,
what
we're
gonna
do
we're
gonna
cover
two
use
cases,
as
I
mentioned.
One
is
where
we
show
how
we
are
using
hyperledger
as
a
ledger
technology
to
manage
transactions
in
us
deployment
of
a
5g
network
service.
Then,
given
how
much
time
we
have
we're,
also
going
to
show
how
we
are
managing
the
lifecycle
like,
for
example,
a
security
event
of
that
5g
service
and
making
that
life
cycle
events
available
to
different
participants,
easily
viewable
from
a
ledger
perspective.

then
at
the
network
edge
we
act.
We
have
the
the
edge
devices,
sensors
user
devices
running
and
also
some
of
the
network
edge
components.
In
this
case
du
is
actually
part
of
a
radio
service
that
gets
deployed
onto
the
telco
edge
in
our
scenario,
so
this
was
just
a
high
level
overview
of
the
architecture
that
we
are
using
behind
this
use
case.

what
you
will
be
seeing
is
that
how
we
are
integrating
our
orchestration
platform
with
a
business
service
support
system
in
this
case,
that
system
consists
of
order
management
platform,
and
on
top
of
that
there
is
a
service
catalog.
So
new
users
can
go
into
that
service,
catalog
and
request
for
network
services
to
be
deployed.

that
request
is
getting
processed
by
the
order
management.
It's
it
triggers
our
orchestration
platform
to
deploy
different
components
of
our
5g
network
across
different
clouds.
So,
in
this
case
we'll
see
a
new
5g
code
getting
deployed
on
which
we'll
do
some
slice
configuration.
It
will
connect
it
to
a
multimedia
service.
Then
it
will
also
connect
the
service
to
a
radio
service
running
on
the
network
cloud
and
edge
and
then
to
the
transport
layer,
which
is
represented
by
a
software
defined
network
controller
here.
So
where
is
blockchain
in
this
case?

as
you
see
that
we
are
basically
doing
a
whole
end-to-end
live
supply
chain
of
this
network
to
deploy
all
different
components.
So
there
might
be
someone
involved
to
do
the
physical
setup
before
these
clouds
can
be
and
that
come
up
live.
Someone
needs
to
provide
the
5g
core
some
when
they
need
to
provide
the
radio
and
etc
etc.
So,
as
we
are
processing
this
network
service
deployment
through
the
business
process
system
triggering
the
orchestration,
we
are
tracking
each
and
every
event
on
hyperledger.

take

our
physical

in

our
slice
is
currently

provisioned

brought
up

orchestration
platform,

using
our
organization

ability

installation

core

platform.

multimedia

radio

transport
layer

we

the

can

smart
contract

hyperledger

smartly
manage

inventory

licenses

operator

on

our

cloud
that
affects

use
case

one
example

this
scenario,

we
have
different
closed
loop
scenarios
when
we
say
closed
loop
is
basically
a
loop
to
learn
the
behavior
of
network
to
identify
any
threats
and
then
apply
the
remediation
action.

this
case,
it's
it's
a
closed
loop
to
enable
security
on
our
5g
core.
So
what
we'll
see
is
that
how
we
are
monitoring
the
security
of
the
containers
that
are
running
for
the
5g
code
and
sorry-

deployment

we
deployed
a
containerize

a
cloud
native
5g
core
onto
openshift
platform,
as
trey
showed
in
the
live
demo.

we're
gonna

are
monitoring
any
tampering

those
containers
that
are
running
our
5g
code.
So
in
this
case
we
are
using
a
third-party
platform
from
palo
alto
called
prismacompute,
which
is
basically
the
container
monitoring
system.

security
threat
on
this
particular
container
of
this
particular
5g
code.
So
you
need
to
do
something
about
it.
So
then,
the
orchestration
implements
a
remediation
action
to
fix
that
5g
code
and
remove
the
security
thread
now

back

hyperledger
story

we
just
saw
in
the
last

are
monitoring

life
cycle
of
our
network
service
in
this
case,
which
also
includes

5g

treated
as

learning
that
we
feed
into
the
