From YouTube: IETF97 Wrap-Up Interview with IETF Chair Jari Arkko
Description
At the end of IETF 97 in Seoul, IETF Chair Jari Arkko shares his thoughts about about how the week went, what topics interested him the most, the success of running code ... and more...
A
How
did
this
all
go
very
well,
I
think,
and
we're
glad
to
be
back
in
a
CEO
of
course,
and
we
had
a
thousand-plus
people
participate
in
the
meeting
here
locally
and-
and
you
know
a
few
hundred
connecting
remotely
to
to
our
most
interesting
meetings
and
the
meeting
was
supported
by
our
host
two
away
and
Sen
nique
and
kisa
who's,
the
local
internet
agency
cool.
Now
there
was,
you,
know,
hundred
different
working
groups
meeting
what
were
some
of
the
major
themes
and
things
that
you
thought
were
interesting
well
iguess.
A
The
two
most
interesting
topics
that
you
know
people
seem
to
gravitate
towards
was
almost
a
the
new
transport
protocol,
quick
which
is
basically
replacing
TLS
and
tcp,
and
it's
a
lot
of
interest
on
that
and
that
has
already
had
a
big
impact
on
the
internet.
Then
we'll
be
having
a
big
impact.
So
obviously
we
can
be
working
hard
on
that.
They
actually
going
to
have
a
number
of
entering
meetings
and
and
a
lot
of
traffic
on
the
mini
list
already,
so
that
that's
the
one
to
follow.
A
The
other
thing
that
we
were
talking
about
was
the
recent
deal
on
service
attacks
against
DNS
systems
and
partially
caused
by
various
kinds
of
IOT
devices
that
were
compromised
and-
and
that
was
another
very
interesting
topic
for
for
the
week
yeah.
Now
we
also
had
a
hackathon.
We
had
a
good
bit
of
running
code
happening.
What
was
what
we
thoughts
on
all
that?
A
Well,
that
went
I
think
very
nicely
as
well
and
and
and
they
were
interesting
topics
this
time,
as
also
in
the
previous
ones-
that
the
one
outstanding
thing
this
time
I
think
was
that
we
had
two
groups
with
lots
of
students.
So
there
was
one
local
university
attending
working
on
my
ATF
related
topics,
but
but
their
students
were
here
and
and
and
working
hard
on
implementing
their
feature.
A
We
also
had
one
University
from
Belgium,
where
there
was
a
small
team
here,
but
then
20
people
back
home
in
Belgium
and
but
still
working
hard
on
their
implementation.
That
was
kind
of
cool.
We
also
had
one
open
source
organization.
The
OPN
FB
meet
just
before
they
are
atf
on
the
previous
week.
Do
their
first-ever
ACN
meet
up
so
that
that
was
I,
think
interesting
as
well,
and
we
want
to
work
together
with
with
the
open
source
world,
so
that's
good
for
for
them
and
good
for
us
now.
We're
all
done
here.
A
People
are
heading
out
will
be
heading
out
in
a
few
hours
and
all
those
kinds
of
things,
and
so
what's
next
for
the
ITF
well,
I
mean
we
go
back
the
mailing
list
as
usual.
So
a
lot
of
these
topics
are,
you
know,
we're
going
to
work
and
be
working
them
on
them
all
the
time,
so
that
that's
the
main
thing
and
as
mentioned,
we
will
have
some
interim
meetings
on
some
of
the
most
important
topics
and
our
next
physical
meeting
will
be
in
Chicago
next
March.
A
Yes,
we'll
we'll
meet
again
in
Chicago
in
the
meantime
for
anyone
watching.
If
you
want
to
watch
some
of
the
videos
of
events
that
happen,
this,
we
can
go
to
WWI,
ETS
org,
slash
live
where
you
can
see
that
the
technical
plenary
that
where
we
talked
about
attacks
against
the
the
networking
things
and
you
can
also
learn
more
at
WWF
org.
Thank
you
for
watching
and
thank
you.
You
re
thank
you.
Dan.
