From YouTube: Early Career Fellowship: Application
Description
What is the application process for the Early Career Fellowship?
We held the virtual Early Career Fellowship Event for Potential Candidates on 11 March, 2021, where we walked through the program’s elements, curriculum and eligibility requirements, explained the application process, and answered some questions.

A
I'm
excited
about
this
and
I
am
not
an
internet
person,
but
I've
learned
so
much
so
what
I
think
I'm
standing
between
you
and
your
opportunity
to
ask
questions,
so
I
will
go
to
the
next
slide
christina.
Thank
you.
This
is
the
exciting
part,
the
nuts
and
bolts
of
who's
eligible.
A
We
do
want
to
honor
those
folks
who
have
both
academic
training
in
this
area,
as
well
as
hands-on,
practical
experience.
So
you
will
see
that
we
are
looking
for
people
who
are
early
in
their
career
and
we
are
honoring.
Those
folks
who
may
not
have
been
not
yet
completed
a
degree
but
have
a
lot
of
work.
Experience
in
this
area.
A
Matthew
did
a
wonderful
job
of
you
know,
helping
to
define
what
we're
looking
for
in
terms
of
project
proposals
in
our
research.
What
excites
me
about
this
is
that
this
fellowship
creates
a
small
community
where
people
will
learn
from
each
other
where
people
will
grow
together
in
their
common
understanding
of
how
to
maintain
and
ensure
and
open
internet
of
the
future,
which,
frankly,
is
more
under
threat
than
I
ever
imagined.
It
would
be
right.
So
we're
excited
about
that.
You
know
some
technical
requirements.
We
have
to
be
able
to
participate
via
zoom.
A
We
are
still
in
a
virtual
world
for
the
first
you
know
foreseeable
future
and
so
to
have
the
full
experience
that
will
be
important.
The
other.
The
other
really
important
thing
is
being
able
to
fully
experience
the
fellowship.
A
All
of
these
components
have
been
put
together
with
some
careful
thought
in
terms
of
the
experience
that
we're
creating
for
the
small
community
of
fellows
in
each
cohort,
but
also
what
it
will
mean
for
future
cohorts
and
the
internet
at
large.
I
imagine
that
the
people
that
are
are
this
inaugural
group
of
fellows
in
a
few
years
will
become
the
regulators
and
policy
makers
and
ceos
and
innovators
right.
A
That's
really
driving
the
internet,
so
it's
important
what
we're
going
to
do
here
and
that
the
projects
themselves
have
some
applicability
beyond
the
24
weeks
and
as
matthew
and
henry
and
everyone
else
underscored
it's
exciting
to
be
able
to
develop
the
work
in
your
local
language
for
your
local
community,
but
then
also
have
the
ability
to
translate
that
to
the
global
platform
that
the
internet
society
provides.
A
So
english
proficiency
is
important
here
and,
of
course,
you
know,
be
an
internet
society
member.
I
do
also
want
to
uplift
that,
if
you
are
not
already
plugged
in
to
the
internet
society
that
this
fellowship
will
be
interesting
to
those
people
too.
So,
in
addition
to
your
particular
interest,
please
consider
sharing
this
with
other
folks
that
you
know.
A
Commitment,
so
there's
a
lot
going
on.
We
anticipate
that
you
know
you're
sort
of
in-person
time,
maybe
about
six
hours,
and
then
it's
really
up
to
you
how
much
more
you
want
to
invest.
I
think
this
is
another
distinctive
feature
of
a
fellowship
like
this.
You
have
some
autonomy
here
in
terms
of
how
you
direct
your
experience.
A
A
Someone
that
you
will
be
able
to
bounce
ideas
around
debate
concepts
help
provide
some
guidance
to
where
you
may
be
in
your
professional
journey
at
large
help
to
create
your
network.
Of
course,
the
cohort
itself
is
a
network,
and
so
we
anticipate
that
there
will
be
a
lot
of
sharing
of
resources
and
that
works
amongst
each
other,
but
as
guest
speakers
come
in
and
lecturers
and
the
mentors
you're
automatically
expanding
your
professional
network
and
who
knows
where
that
will
lead
right?
A
That's
the
idea
and
we're
very
excited
about
the
concept
of
the
symposium,
where
there
will
be
a
very
special
invited
group
of
people
who
you
will
be
able
to
present
your
projects
to.
Maybe
your
project
is
under
development
or
under
already
being
implemented.
Maybe
it's
right
at
the
cusp
of
implementation.
A
Maybe
it
needs
some
additional
investment
in
resources,
but
we're
putting
together
pretty
impressive
audience
of
folks
who
will
be
very
interested
in
what
the
future
champions
of
the
internet
are
proposing
and,
of
course,
the
internet
society
is
a
platform
that
would
want
to
honor
and
share
the
impact
of
the
projects
that
our
fellows
develop.
So
we
would
want
your
permission
to
you'd
have
to
agree
right
that
the
work
that
you've
done
in
this
fellowship
is
something
that
we
will
be
able
to
share,
promote,
perhaps
bring
other
resources
to.
A
I
thought
this
was
pretty
distinctive.
As
someone
who
has
done
fellowships
in
my
own
career,
you
rarely
get
a
sneak
peek
at
the
key
questions,
but
we
want
to
be
helpful,
and
so
here
are
some
key
questions
to
think
about
as
you're
preparing
your
application
and
then,
if
you're
curious
about
the
parrot.
A
So
we
will
be
asking
you
to
submit
a
very
short
video
that
that
tells
us
a
little
bit
more
about
you
beyond
what
you
may
have
written
in
the
application
that
shares
your
personality
so
totally
up
to
you
how
creative
you
want
to
be
how
fun
you
want
to
be
right.
