Last month we announced we’re shaking things up a bit with 360. Rather than saving everything to the end of each month, we’ll drop content more frequently. Then on the last Thursday of the month, wrap it all together (plus add a few new bits too) and share in one package. Hopefully we’ll deliver the best of both worlds; timely, easy-to-digest stories that highlight the vibrancy of the Cardano ecosystem every week, with a chance to catch up in one go once a month.

Today John O’Connor is giving us a short update on IOG’s ongoing work in Africa to bring digital identity systems to students.

Hi there I'm john o'connor director of african operations at input output, and I'm here today to give you a brief update on what we've been up to across the last year and also some of the things that we have coming up. So the major project which we announced last year was our work with the ministry of education in ethiopia. So we've been diligently building working with the government on integrations with the national data, privacy laws and the national identity systems, and we're pleased to say that we are now moving into the implementation phase.

So as of the last month and this month, our team members and outputs are with the ministry of education, both in addis ababa and also in the regions working with local institutions and educational establishments, like schools to onboard people onto the system, teach and train teachers and school masters and mistresses on how to use the platform. So, as we finish up these trainings this month, our hopes are that we'll be rolling out live towards students across the next eight weeks.

Our goal by the end of the year is to have one to two million students fully onboarded and using the software and next year we'll expand that to the full five million, which was within the scope of the contract. In other news, we've also launched incubator accelerator with ice addis. This is called the irob accelerator.

Its goal is to help build the next generation of real fi and d5 companies on cardano. We have 25 and the current intake and they're about to open up enrollment for new startups and new businesses, which are looking to build on cardano in africa. So, if you're interested, if you've got a project or a burning idea that you think needs a bit of support, please look up the incubator program and feel free to get involved as we move into june.

There are a couple of projects which we've been working on for the last six to nine months, which we're hoping to announce. I can't really take the lid off it just yet, but the programs are basically focused on supporting this real five vision of connecting up crypto liquidity to real world asset classes, and we hope that we've got enough news items there to keep. You guys engaged and excited so hopefully speak to you very shortly, but thank you very much for taking the time and hope everyone appreciated the short update.
