myself

this

when
I
was
changing
roles
within

company
and,

we
had
just
recently
won
these
projects
in
fund
seven
and
one
of
the
individuals
who
was
managing
this
project
mentioned
that.

little
bit
of
context
and
background
about
what
this
challenge
was.
So
this
was
to
do
basically,
two
things
and
seed
stars
in
the
past
has
worked
with
the
financial
times
focused
on
startup,
pitching
competitions
to
really
bring
some
marketing
exposure
to
some
of
the
innovators
and
disruptors
in
emerging
markets.

So
this
was
a
three-day
event
that
was
hosted
in
june
20
through
the
22nd
and
the
idea
around
it
was
to
basically
much
of
it
was
internal
where
we
had
basically
over
200
applicants
and
we
selected
50
finalists
to
join
in
mentor
boot
camps,
and
we
basically
had
these
startups
join
with
different
workshops
that
we
were
hosting
specifically
to
the
cardano
ecosystem
and
blockchain.
Then
we
had
five
finalists
from
there
do
a
pitching
competition.

Then
we
did
the
live
event,
which
was
a
which
was
an
hour-long
event
with
speakers
about
cardano
about
blockchain,
about
impact
about
emerging
markets,
the
same
topics
that
we
really
all
enjoy
here
and
we
announced
the
global
winner
from
the
from
the
pitch.
This
here
is
a

actually
one
of
the
speakers

the
panel
on
the
final
day
and
it
kind
of
repeats
some
of
the
things

mentioned

goal

organization

We
think
this
event

great
opportunity
to
showcase
how
disruptive
and
innovative
technology
such
as
blockchain,
such
as
cardano,
is
impacting
developing
economies.

we
wanted
to
get
as
many
viewers

had
over
2000
registrations
to
the
event
and
over
3000
people
actually
went
to
the
website

look

it

trying
to
do.
Actually,
this
number
is
a
little
bit
outdated
at
this
point,
because
it's
never,
we
called,
but
we
had
so
far,
1.3
000
people
who
have
viewed
the
event
and
actually,
I
think,
it's
probably
up
closer
to
2000
at
this
point.

almost
200
people
watching
it
live,
which
is
actually
considering
that
focused
on
different
time
zones.
Different
geographies
and
getting
people
who
are
already
working
remotely
crazy
schedule
is
actually
pretty
impressive
to
get
live
viewers

selected
53
startups
to
participate
in
the
boot
camps
and
overall
they
were
very
positive
about
their
experience
with
the
73
fps
score.

the

columbia,
the
ivory
coast,
south
africa,
switzerland.
So
it
was
really
great
to
see
how
global
an
event
this
was
and
how
big
of
a
reach
that
we
can
get
with
communicating.
What
cardano
is
doing.

He
is
one
of
the
individuals
who
was
on
the
selection
jury,
who
was
participating
in
the
pitching
competition
to
basically
choose
the
global
winner
and
who
could
get
a
short
track
to
the
seed
star's
investment
fund.
So
charlie
was
very
involved
in
the
event,
along
with
a
couple
of
others
to
really
look
through
these
startup
pitches
and
think
who
is
the
startup
that
we
think
is
going
to
be
able
to
scale
the
most
and
provide
the
most
impact
in
these
markets
that
we're
focusing.

are

the

the
actual
something
that's

the

audience
was
really
engaged
over
that
the
event
sending
over

both
the
participants
and
the

individuals

startups,
who
were
really
grateful
to
make
the

They
really
enjoyed
the
sessions

we

probably
a
good
time
to
mention
that
in
the
mentorship
sessions

startups
went
to,
this
was
really
key
for
us
to
partner
with
the
cardano
community,
to
help
get
some
mentors
into
this
event
to
help
basically
be
paired
up
with
different
startups
and
mentor
them
on
their
business
mentor
them
on
cardano.
We
had
several
different
workshops
going
on.

we
had
networking
events.
We
also
had
several
different
speakers.
The
cardano
community
really
came
through
on
this
to
kind
of
support,
what
a
cohesive
event
between
the
both
of
us,
where
we're
trying
to
market
what
you're
doing

going

the

provides
next
generation,
blockchain
transaction
monitoring
and
intelligence.

be
used
for
law
enforcement

we
personally
believe
that

kind

subject
is

our

startup

going
to
focus

specific

three-month
program
will

demo
day

we're

to
invite
all
of
you

all
the
pitches
from
the
startups
that
participate.

work
that

submitted

proposal,
assessors
in

file
that
will
be
shipped
to
you
and
you
get
an
opportunity
to
actually
review
and
give
a
first
sight
feedback
whether
those
assessments
are
up
to
a
standard,
and
if
there
is
a
problem,
you'll
have
an
opportunity
to
flag
those
instances.

then
start
on
july
15th,
which
is
on
friday
sometime
during
the
daytime
utc,

to
make
sure
that
we
have
all

data
ready
and
then
it
will

20th
at

go
through
your
proposals,

if

any
problems
or
issues

assessments
and

the

to
be
disagreeing
on

starting
with

history.
Where
did
this
group
come
from,
and
I
I
wanted
to
remind
everybody
of
what
was
the
origin
of
this
proposal
that
that
turned
into
this
group
of
people.

this
went
back
to
a
pilot
that
paris
had
presented
way
back
in
november
of
last
year
and
it
was
attempt
to
answer
the
ongoing
question
that
we're
all
struggling
with,
which
is
how
does
decision
making
shift
from
iog
to
the
community?
And
there
was
an
idea
for
a
pilot
where
the
circle,
the
catalyst
circle,
would
start
to
take
decisions
on
catalyst
parameters.

So
we're
talking
about
catalyst,
governance,
not
cardano
governance,
but
catalyst,
governance,
decisions
on
catalyst
parameters
in
conjunction
with
a
catalyst
technical
council
that
would
be
appointed
by
iog
to
provide
research
and
academic
insights,
and
there
was
a
third
body
that
was
the
governance
oversight,
the
community
governance
oversight
group.
That
would
facilitate
feedback
from
the
community
to
inform
the
decision-making
process
that
would
be
taken
by
the
catalyst
circle
in
conjunction
with
this
catalyst,
technical
council.

What
happened
was
that
the
proposal
was
successfully
funded
in
fund
seven,
but
the
pilot
was

that
led
the
team

shift

little
bit
to
think
about
what
community
governance
oversight
would

absence

scope
was
still
detailed
out
as
oversight
of
the
governance
processes

work
has
now
wrapped
up
we're
very
close
to
publishing
our
closeout
report
and
video,

have
all
kinds
of
in-depth
documentation
of
all
of
the
different
activities
that
the
group
took
during
the
the
fund

term.

put
another
proposal
into
fund
eight
building
on
the
work
that
we
started
in
fund
seven
and
we
were
very
happy
for
that
proposal
to
be
funded
as
well.

the
team
recommitted
to
the
to
the
project
and
continuing
the
work
of
oversight
of
the
challenge,
setting
process
the
catalyst
circle,
d-reps
and
catalyst
parameter
changes.
But
really
importantly,
this
is
not
a
decision-making
body,
although
the
original
pilot
had
the
conception
of
a
way
conceived
of
a
way
that
decisions
would
shift
to
the
community.

of
all,
that
was
never
intended
to
be
a
governance
oversight
and,
second
of
all,
that
pilot
didn't
happen.
So
just
wanted
to
make
it
very
clear
that
the
community
governance
oversight
group
is
not
making
decisions
about
governance,
but
at
this
point
simply
documenting
and
taking
oversight
of
the
governance,
activities
and
experiments
that
are
happening
in
catalyst
and
we
would
love
for
the
community
to
engage
with
us.

as
part
of
our
oversight,
we
are
documenting
and
keeping
track
of
all
of
the
different
governance
activities
that
are
happening
in
catalyst.
So
from
the
circle
perspective,
I
love
the
fact
that
we
have
circle

3.2,

three
circle
reps
stood
down
and
they
were
replaced
by
three
new
reps
and
there
was
a
lot
of
discussion
last
week
at
the
circle
about
the
circle
in
last
week's
town
hall
and
after
town
hall.
It's
a
really
productive
and
interesting
conversation.
We
have
not
had
any
updates
regarding
the
d-rep
workshops.

a
bit
outside
of

scope

catalyst

but

vision

cardano
governance,
which
is
a
really

and

one

things

he
mentioned,
which
is
relevant,
that
he
called

the
cardano
treasury
to
pay
engineers
and
that
may

the
catalyst

group
has

track
what

a
community
can't
even
start
to

to
think
about
how
we
would
govern
catalyst

don't

what
the
catalyst
parameters

governance

every

assessor
and
the

was
extended
