So um so it's really nice to really nice to see that uh we have dabbled our translation capacity uh from last time and we had iacs uh that was that was doing the the spanish translations and he's still persisting still with us. Thank you. So much uh give us a live, live transaction in spanish and we have uh josiah uh with us a new volunteer that is going to to translate there after that translate to a language. I I wasn't.

I I ashamed to say I didn't know existed called igbo and maybe before we start, maybe josiah can explain a bit about the language who's using it. uh Maybe also. Maybe how did you come come about to to volunteer and and and discover catalyst.

Okay, um um my name is josiah, as uh mentioned. um Actually uh uber language is a language. That's been spoken by over 40 million people in the world, and these people are primarily located in southern nigeria.

Guinea, the cameroon and some countries like jamaica, trinidad and the virgo and and whatnot is a very, uh is one of the top languages in africa right and I discovered the project catalyst.

I was I'm working on a project myself, so I discovered project cut laser through the project I'm working on, and then I think it's a very good opportunity for me to contribute. I believe there are evil listeners that is listening to the to the to the uh live stream, and most of them will be uh you'll, be very happy to know that they are actually represented. uh I I think it's it's it's something that has never been done within the cryptocurrency space yeah, so opportunity.

Well, we are also happy also as non-native igbo speakers and uh and we're really really grateful uh for you for stepping up and volunteering and taking this initiative. It's it's really amazing and it's really inspiring and just both for you and ayax. It's like you know who knows, maybe you know, maybe in the history of decentralized governance. You know this.

This would be one of those moments when we remember where we, we decided to truly launch a truly inclusive, decentralized governance that lets people interact with it in their meditative language that they feel comfortable and master to the benefit of all. So really really. Thank you both of you.

And today you will, you will do two things. First of all, you will you will kick off the the town hall and present the invite and and right after right after that, uh ron is one of our funded proposals for fun to talk about spokera and what's going on, and I'm really actually I'm really curious and excited to hear that so uh ron. The stage is yours:.

All right so first I'll read through this slide here. Welcome to the experiment. Things may break lack documentation differ greatly between iterations disorient overload and inspire.

Our goal is to provide a safe and lively environment for you to explore the highest potential of human collaboration.

Let's get wild all right so for those of you that don't already know spyracra we're a group of stakeholders that came together to fill a need, and that need was for a trade association to exist for stateful operators, both large and small.

C

So uh we're really here to serve the backbone of the cardinal blockchain ecosystem by being uh both uh reactive and proactive, to uh pretty much all matters that that affect cardano staple operators.

So the trade yield that we're building. It's.

Really centered around education first and and foremost, and then support for staple operators in the community and representation as well as communication.

C

So our mission is to help ensure that that the health of the carniano blockchain is insured and then and then also promote decentralization of like through the success success of uh individuals running their own stateful operations.

So we we really aim to be a working partner with with cardano ecosystem players in the community, as well as iog cardano.

And emergo so we're just here to provide value and tools to the state cooperators that that need them so yeah we can go on next slide now all right, so we just wanted to give a quick update of uh our fun two proposal tests. So uh we've completed four of the five educational deliverables so far, uh we've we've got one remaining that that's on the list um and then a lot more in the works.

uh So we've created a framework of communication channels between the cardano ecosystem partners such as iog and the cardona foundation, we're in uh constant communication, uh spackra bylaws have it completed uh they're in we're actually in the final phase of uh the legal side to create the nonprofit entity.

uh So, moving on, we we've also launched our new platform, which is a mighty networks platform to enable better engagement. This it's a really feature-rich uh platform that allows uh us to create different interest groups, so basically like sub networks within this network and then really engage with with different individuals on specific topics.

C

And uh it allows us to post articles and video posts polls, courses uh guides uh and also hosts live events, uh so, lastly, uh we've also established our reusable graphics. So you can see some of those here are branding uh video content as well, um and we've actually just completed our our new spakra official video, so stay tuned. For that.

uh So I just grabbed a screenshot of our spock or mighty network here. So this is just a home page, so you can see how feature-rich this is uh just right. On the home page. We got different topics that are trending based on like uh activity from from the users, uh so you can see different posts from uh staple operators and then on the left uh menu over there. You can go and you can find other members and and collaborate with them.

You can like people have already reached out and we've started new groups for things uh and then inside each one of those groups it offers all the same functionality that we have in the overall network, so uh creating member roles and all the stuff I mentioned previously, you can do within each each sub network group. So it's really cool.

uh So far, uh we've had a lot of new members uh recently and uh we're up to 157 members, uh and then you can see that uh this little statistic here or this little graph, our our members is growing and this shows the engagement. So this is the active members. So it's it's growing.

uh It's on an uptrend on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, so it's really exciting. It's fun stuff.

uh We we've been having our public weekly meetings and actually those have been going on uh since we started our discord server about a year ago. uh There's there's still we're still maintaining our discord server, but most of the activity is happening on the mighty network and I think we'll we'll probably continue this the the discord server.

But uh if you want to like join in like our public meetings uh they're every saturday, uh you just come over to spock for io and then sign up and and then uh in the event, tab just rsvp and you can be a part of it. uh So they're pretty good discussions going on and then also we have. We just started recently our wednesday live discussion, so we have uh so. The public weekly meetings are they're more like updates and then uh just like general general discussion with sbos that come and then on wednesdays.

We have specific topics that we're going to cover um and that's a live stream that we post to our our youtube channel.

All right so in the pipeline, like I said, uh there's more.

Education content, deliverables uh that we're creating uh they're gonna, be like video video discussions, tutorials and then also uh we're we're creating more guides and then the the meat of all. This is really the apprenticeship program that we're creating. So this this is going to be uh it's not something that we're rushing out right away. uh So we already have sign ups for it on our mighty network, but um once it's ready to to be rolled out, we'll roll it out.

We want something: that's high quality, uh very valuable to the community uh and then eventually like. If you go through this apprenticeship program, you can uh you can be certified as a spock member and this could this could show uh to the rest of the community that that you're competent you have the skills required after going through the tests and and the courses in the training, and not only uh like just uh people.

Looking to delegate to pools, I mean this could be something that potentially enterprise could look to to uh do community delegation or or find stake, pool operators that that they want to run their own operations. So it's it's going to be very valuable for the community and in addition to that, we're also collaborating with uh ada makerspace.

I think they were a fun one uh winner, uh so we're we're gonna, be one of the sponsors and then also uh participant in the challenge during their upcoming hackathon. So we're very excited about that. That's gonna be fun.

Thank you ron for a beautiful presentation. Thank you. That's great um yeah, one of the more more coordinated groups uh in the current ecosystem, very great, to see uh iran. You know I may be one just one one question for you, and so let's say all your ambitions are fulfilled. You know the goals are accomplished uh next month, there's a thousand people active active on the on the mighty networks.

You know all meetings are packed with people. You know there's like really large cohorts of spo and uspos and they're all members of active members in spoka. What what happens then like? What's the? What would that result in? Do you do you think.

Well, I I see soccer as something that we're forming for like generations to come to like be like an actual like working partner with like iog and then and then really just like the staking industry overall. uh So, like uh I've seen that uh tazo's uh blockchain has been like uh moving to try to create uh like legal and regulation clarity, so uh that kind of stuff is definitely what we're gonna get involved in. And then uh I mean I'm from the.

I'm gonna be working on that in the united states and then uh we wanna help that like create a model and then pass that out to other geographic locations as well.

Really, what we're aiming for is trying to make uh state cooperation as a business viable for individuals for, like the foreseeable future,.

Great yeah, creating more jobs, creating more opportunities for everybody, making it more accessible, more diverse groups, geographical groups and.

Providing educational tools that they need to be successful.

That's incredible: well, it was great having you here ron. Thank you so much and we're looking forward to get more. You know what I could probably catch up with in a few months and you know continue to track the the progress of of sparkra as the story unfolds and thank you so much.

All right so um next question: uh when resorts were fun for, as you know, we finished, we finished the casting of the votes. The tally has already already started, we're now in the qa phase. Okay, so we're not we're not just like telling the votes once and like immediately publishing them we're, actually uh we're trying to be very meticulous and make sure that the votes are counted correctly.

A

So we we are actually using different tallying approaches and comparing the results and making sure that it's all all allergies- and this is why and then we're moving into a graphic kind of a graphical nice graphical interface that everybody can really consume. This is what takes most of the time, this qa process and the graphic putting things in place in a easy to understand way, but by the end of the week, results will be will be coming so keep eye on the catalyst announcement channel in telegram.

That's that's, probably the first, the first place uh where it will be published and, as you can see- and we had uh almost uh yeah like like 216 749 votes cast. That's uh I think, in in fund three, we had around 120 000 votes, okay, so it's almost almost doubled.

A

So uh that's an amazing statistic uh to keep track of, and I just think about it. You know just think about the action of like for our you know. We're talking about like cat is being like, with an overwhelming experience. Inspiring experience like you know, think about that.

A

You know you go and you read a proposal and you consider it and you wait and you cast your votes and that's one okay and then, like another time, two three four until you get up to 217 000 right times that happened and and think about all the human efforts, all the attention, all the dedication that went into making that decision for fund for and and just appreciates all the human energy that went into it and I think also for for maybe all the proposing teams that participating like realizing how much people care about what you do and people care about the future of the cardano network and how that translates in in this.

This, like collective commitment, how amazing it is so pant 5, starts on 8th of july and then another relatively quick process getting that out the door getting those those funds. Five proposals also funded and get going, and then six and onwards and upwards the uh we actually started. The dry runs for fund five or we already started registration for the dry. One runs already started and will end.

I think, that's tomorrow, the the um what are the dry runs it's it's kind of a general reversal of the whole voting process and all the all the latest improvements and updates. We did to the software to check it for uh basically that it's it's all working as expected, and we need your help to help us do that and give us feedback.

A

It's really helpful for us. It's not just like technical validation, also when people participate in it by run. They also give us kind of general feedback and we take it into account as we continue to improve the experience. So every anybody wants to to take part in this important uh part of of find five there's a link to a telegram channel and all the details should be revealed there.

So I wanted, I wanted to invite jacob to talk, talk about an emerging, exciting.

A

Initiative, it's going to be lunch for fund five called ibis.

Hello yeah, thank you for the introduction daw. I will just quickly share my screen, um maybe door. You could stop sharing your screen then, and now can just.

Perfect, so yes, so um we have a really really cool upcoming event. It's called the idea fest it's um going to be in cooperation with iog and swarm. So I'm coming here from uh from the swarm team and it's about meeting uh the proposers of fund five and really engaging with them. So it will be.

There will be stages for the fund, five proposers that can talk about everything they have already done and that they want to achieve before the voting is going to take place later on, and so um the date is tentatively set on the 10th and the 11th of july, and more updates will follow. We can just assure you it will be a great event.

It will be highly engaging for all of you just to get to know each other and see what has really been developing and will be developed during the next funding round, and also the registration for the proposals will be announced through the different channels. So this is just a heads up and we will give you more information about that later.

Yeah thanks jacob thanks to swarm for picking up picking up this initiative and uh such a quick, quick turnover. We could literally discuss it a few days ago and it's going to be incredible.

I think I think just like you know just you know, realizing that the hundreds and hundreds of proposing teams and, like think about the ability to have kind of an open trade show and and comment and and and hear the people behind the proposals behind the pages of texts interact with them asking questions, maybe even giving them ideas, maybe even find collaboration opportunities for future funds.

A

We don't know what will come out of it. uh It's the first first experiment. It's gonna be messy, but I think it's gonna be like funny, also and and entertaining and uh and inspiring so.

A

All right so now more on uh now we get serious we're talking about the catalyst circle talking about the elections that are going to happen right after this town hall and in in in a secondary town hall. uh You know in in in a few hours to include people from across the globe and so quick rundown for those who missed it. So what's what's the definition of the circle?

A

It's a it's a human sensor array, okay, so it's it's a it monitors the current state and future plans regarding governance in project catalyst.

A

It's a place where members of the circle detect and discuss concerns, objections and opportunities arising within the catalyst ecosystem and um by having these meetings and talking about it in an open and transparent way.

A

Everybody in the in the catalyst ecosystem gets a view into the hopes once needs and concerns of the community iog and cf with project catalyst.

A

A secondary responsibilities for this is that this this group of humans would also define the elections process for the next catalyst circle so important to say uh this is just the first iteration of ex of this experiment in the in this human process of catalyst governance.

A

uh Probably, if we're gonna, do it right way, it's gonna change and evolve uh from iteration to iteration. So those of you have been tracking the evolution of this project. You know things are gonna change, so don't be, don't be surprised and don't be too attached.

A

um So what are the goals so facilitate the different functional groups in catalyst to communicate with each other provide a heads up when any red lines are crossed within a certain group suggest improvements on plans and processes, the che project, catalyst and, as I said before, define the elections process for the catholic circle, the next secondary sector, who will be the members so we're, starting with a very minimal, minimal, viable group, just like just the functional group, just people that you know without without them.

Without this particular community, they wouldn't be a catalyst okay, so the sbos who run the network, the cf, a iog, the cas, those those proposals who got funded the tool makers and maintainers, creating amazing software. That makes me I don't know like like laugh with joy like several times a week when I hear about all the things they do and the general voters.

A

Okay also are, as you can see, with the latest elections, and the participation are all taking a huge part in legitimizing decentralized governance, okay and making it part of a viable alternative, okay to to the kind of decision-making processes and governance processes that happen around the world.

A

So, as you can see today, we'll be voting on the spo group, the ca group to makers and maintainers.

A

I was already elected by iog, so I'm already one one person on the table, a cf would soon join with their own internal nominee next week. There's a cohort meeting where the funded proposer, proposers called the catalyst cohort, would elect their representative and then and we're going to have a representative for the general voters and that's going to be a bit tricky.

A

We're gonna experiment with.

A

Basically, I'm not go I'll go into details, probably next week, we'll take a deeper dive into their election message for them, but basically there will be a like an open call for people who want to participate in a in an election committee that would select this uh this, like the representative of the voters and uh randomly from all the people who offer themselves, there will be a there will be like a smaller group of people who will be selected and they will select the candidate and review nominations.

So that's a lot of details about about the general voters and next week we're going to cover that. Okay, let's keep it simple. Today we already have a pretty complicated elections already today and we're going to talk about it so, but and maybe just to put it to the ground. What kind of what kind of things gonna be talked about in in the circle.

Just to give you a bit of an example, so I think one up there's a lot of open question loose ends and when we want your your advice about and guidance of the community and once, for example, you know we have this, these challenges, you know, and they they're and each challenge has a certain amount and then fund over fund.

A

You know those amounts like either they grow or they stay the same or they reduce or they disappear and like what's the logic dictating that okay like can we can we find the formula together, for example, of how to do that in a way, that's effect, effective and impactful and and conductive to the goals of cardano, and you know over time you know from iteration to iteration. We might decide to change the incentives, incentives that are allocated for different groups or the conditions of like what makes you eligible for an incentive.

One example is community advisor incentive, okay, so, for example, one of the one of one one thing we want to to start is to start to incentivize community advisors according to the quality of their assessment. So the higher the quality of the assessment provided, the higher the incentive you would receive. Okay, so that's actually a really complicated thing to do, and we want to talk with the cas and also the the the general circle about how it would impact people and so another example.

Another thing you know I mean I'm sure a lot of a lot of you are a bit bugged by the landing page in id scale like it doesn't really capture all the content. All the complexity doesn't provide like this ultimate. It's like really smooth on boarding for proposals that we would like to and there's already so much initiatives already happening to to improve it and I'm sure that by sitting together and putting cards on the table and talking you know and planning together, we can make that landing page a lot better.

And lastly, we want to more and more expose the api of catalysts like enabling more and more uh different groups, different functional groups to develop, on top of catalyst, building, more governance tools and again seek advice. What kind of api calls would people want? What kind of data people want? What should we prioritize?

What can we prioritize by guarding guarding also the privacy of people, privacy of data, so just a few examples of like interesting kind of interesting fun topics that that we're gonna gonna cover in the circle like not necessarily these topics, the agenda would be decided by the members, but just giving you some examples of like, let's say things I would like to put on the agenda: um what are the duties of these members, okay and now candidates? You know you can it's always.

You always have the opportunity to like to withdraw so listen carefully and now know what you're getting into, and so what's your duties, so you need to represent the community that selected you uh in the meetings uh exercise.

A

Your own best judgment about matters that come before the circle. Okay, so be a person continue to be a person not like, like just a representative, robot or or someone who follows directive, just maintain your humanity and and own your own sense-making ability. As as we have these discussions, uh familiar members, the your community members, ah sorry familiar other people in the category circle about the project. Activities aim hopes concerns of your community.

You know we all do that well and we all are kind of like aware and make wholesome decisions or or yeah or or take the whole. Some have awesome information that we process uh periodically have the opportunity to introduce policy proposals into the catalyst circles agenda for consideration. Okay, so uh you know like like what I said like a challenge like how the logic of the challenges is going to be dictated fun to fun.

It's like a policy proposal, okay, so I can come and like make a proposal and like hear people's like perspective, on it, uh inform uh and and for inform the your community about the initiatives of the qatari circle. Okay. So this is duties and there's responsibilities.

A

uh So that's like a bit more technical okay. So if you're elected you're expected to regularly attend the meetings that happen every two weeks, we collectively will maintain an agile backlog to track issues between meetings. We would review comments on issues in the agenda ahead of time, so some some preparation work before the meeting itself, keep awareness of the interests and concerns of of your own community.

Okay, keep keep tapped in and listening a facilitate sessions to do that, make sure to spread the outputs of the circle in a transparent and accessible way and learn and practice. Effective meeting procedures uh produce an election protocol document for the next election. So some kind of like step by step how elections are conducted with the details, um attend training.

We're gonna provide some training uh by a our our lovely consultants, governance alive, uh that that will help us, learn, inclusive and clean startup leadership techniques and we'll ask you to give feedback on the effectiveness of the circle. So we can continue to improve okay, so russ remember. This is the very first like primitive election, we're going to laugh about it in a year or something it will be like we're like. Oh, I can't believe this is how we did it. You know, but this is already. This is how we do it.

It's how you start. You always start when you don't feel totally prepared. That's how you know you're doing it in the right time um in iterations we trust okay. So so we had, we went through step one. We did the nominations they were announced published all over the place. People registered in the google form nominating themselves nominating someone else.

A

We had. We had the governance time alive, team contact all the nominees to make sure they have their consent to run for for the position, and when we go into the breakout rooms to do the vote, we also give people a chance to withdraw with their consent. You know- maybe something I said now is like not accepted, makes not acceptable for people. That's fine.

A

And um we will have so after this after efficiency intro we're going to break out rooms, there will be three rooms, tech, cool operators still making and maintainers community advisors.

A

In each room uh we will, there will be a facilitator and he will kind of run the election process. It will start by each person each. You know each nominee has a five minute of the floor to make their case uh some already made videos that will play some. He gave a written written statement that will read some may might at the at. The spur of the moment want to break into a speech.

A

um Who knows interpretive dance, I don't know we'll see and to to make their case and and then we're going to to vote. If we're going to make it a very simple I mean I'm a I'm a voting methodology geek, okay and we have like a whole team that does this. This is a for us. This is like. We really chose something really basic.

You know it's not the optimal way, but it's a simple way that gets us moving forward: okay in a short amount of time. Okay, so you can only vote once: okay for the entire elections. Okay, you can't move between rooms and vote in multiple rooms. You can't move between town halls and, like the now the tunnel in blair, town hall and void twice, if you do this you're a cheater and you're a bad person.

Okay, and it's like not nice, and let's just want to make it explicit. Okay, just vote once: okay and the there's like it's gonna, be um only inside the breakout room, you would get access to to voting. There will be like a special link and we're going to make some there's going to be some safety precautions, we're going to make to make sure that the voting is legitimate.

A

So, for example, if the total vote counts is is greater than the number of participants in the room. There will be like a quick re-election, we're using some secret methodology. Okay, so we have some strict tricks in inner sleeves sleeves uh tomorrow, uh like at six utc, uh we were doing the eastern hemisphere, time zones, and basically just now so, if you're listening to this tomorrow, you're just hearing my recording and it's not live, but then there will be a live, breakout room same process, basically just a bit a bit later and yeah after both.

You know, after both of these all the votes have been tallied from both of these election events, we're going to tell you the votes, and I want to share in advance how the logic of the voting happens.

A

So uh one instance: okay, is that, like you know, if, if we have the top candidates, if he has more than five percent of the total more more uh five percent, more of total votes than the runner-up candidate, they are elected, doesn't matter what's the absolute percent they receive. So so, if you look at emily and so emily received, 20 votes, lara received 13 votes when the eighth.

These were the three candidates, totally total of the 47 47 votes. Maybe I've got the math wrong. I think 41 votes but never mind, uh sorry about that, but um the if you look at the total votes- uh five, let's, let's imagine a total worth of 47. Okay, just not to break my logic. Okay, so imagine there was another candidate with additional votes and there was total votes. 47 5 of total votes is 2.35 votes so because emily got um more than you know.

So, if there was a candidate that had 2.35 votes or less or or less than her, then there would be a special condition, but since emily is definitely comfortably in the lead, she's elected all right thanks emily. Okay, then let's look at another edge cakes.

We had two top runners, but there's less than five percent difference in the in the vote. Okay, so you see emily and lara emily got 10 and this is a different election situation and we got 10 votes. I got the nine votes.

We had a total emily wendy got eight votes, we had a total 27 votes. uh Five five percent of this is 1.35. Clearly lara has just one vote apart and not so that's like less than 1.35.

So in this case, basically, we put both of them in in a room and they talk it out and they figure out who's representative, okay, so we're kind of pro we're trying to not be to not not promote adversarial thinking, okay, but collaborative thinking, and we trust emily and lara to figure out uh between them who's going to be the who's going to be the member. It's an experiment, let's see how it works so um breakout rooms. So now is the time for you to think about which breakout room you want to join.

We have the stake pool operator room led by kathy. We have the community advisor room led by pitts, and we have the tool makers and maintainers led by john. Some of you might feel like. Okay, I'm also I'm a community inviter and a stake pool operator right or like or I'm a tool maker, a stake pool operator and a community advisor right. Where, where should I go?

Well, you have to pick one. You know. Maybe look inside of you think, which one am I more affiliated. You feel more strongly affiliated with um of all the three. If I had to pick one which one because you only get to pick one so pick, one that you feel like the most or or or I don't know if equally roll a dice but pick one.

And- and I think that's about it- that's an instruction, so so those those of you who those are interested, you can get some uh here's some useful links generally for the town hall and and now is the time to pick your room and who do. We have that's going to facilitate this this transition and I think what would be nice if that person can kind of show people the interface for choosing a breakout room and making sure that we're have a smooth transition and everybody gets to vote and listen to the denominations. I'm really curious.

um Can describe it um the a pete krueger or um oliver kruger who's about uh or we're gonna be facilitating. One of the rooms has the breakout room set to go and when he clicks the button um you'll see that you have a choice of three rooms to go to, and I don't think we can show this on screen share.

So if you have any problems and a bunch of people are disappearing from this room and you don't know what to do, then daniel uh rebar will be um they're able to help you figure out where to go. It's it's pretty straightforward.

So um in a moment the breakout rooms will change from the 11th thing. That's that's speculated with right now to three and then you just click the room you want to go to.

Yeah another another option by the way another option you can do is like when you click the breakout rooms, you can scroll down all the way to the bottom and you can see the different rooms and then on the and then like yeah, the interface sucks okay. But but if you go to you see the title of the room, it's a community advisor and there's like a number next to it like now the number is 25 and then, if you hover about it, there's a join button.

And and I'm not seeing that at the bottom of the list or I'm used to seeing that, but I don't see- I just see lists of names.

Yeah, that's because we have like already 29 people in the toolmaker maintain a room. Okay, so you just scroll up a bit and you will you will get to the title.
