Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a continuation of the original Ethereum blockchain - the classic version preserving untampered history; free from external interference and subjective tampering of transactions.

ETC is a next generation digital currency united with an intuitive programming platform. This allows software developers of all skill sets to build the next wave of market disrupting dApps (decentralized applications) that can change the world.

What are the goals of Ethereum Classic?

Our goal is to securely and methodically establish a strong ecosystem, with a solid foundation and immutability at its core. A platform where developers are able to write code that can run as intended, without downtime or interference from a 3rd party.

We intend to carefully build every aspect of the Ethereum Classic network from the ground up. Whether it is a massive core infrastructure project or a small dApp development team experimenting, we will uphold our principles of security, consistency and immutability.

It is our belief that adherence to these values will ensure the Ethereum Classic network is built upon a strong, stable foundation. It is this stable foundation that will cultivate growth of the next wave of applications often referred to as, The Internet Of Things.

Well, I'm, a software engineer: I've been in the tech space for 20 years now, so I started off in C++ and then I did a lot of Java and I've been doing Scala since 2013 Scala is appealing because it's a very concise language. So, first of all, when you're coming from Java, it's roughly half the amount of typing that you have to do so it's very very expressive. It's a language that supports functional programming, it it favors the mutability in its in its constructs.

So it's it's sort of naturally, more thread-safe and concurrent friendly, currently I'm the team, growth and Deek team manager, so team growth and deke has put together to create a third etherium classic client written entirely in Scala from from the ground up so I'm responsible for the technical health of the codebase and for coming up with the delivery milestones. There are four milestones currently on the roadmap.

The four phases really involve block synchronization transaction execution, which is the EVM, then the command and query phase, which involves the JSON or PC interface and then, finally, the the mining aspect of of the etherium client functional programming is side-effect free. So there are parameters to functions and there are results of those functions and no matter at what time, time of the day or night, in the future of the past, that you call those functions, there are no other side-effects.
