Description
Browsers 3000 is a six-week virtual event to explore and accelerate the development of web3 in the browser through experimentation and challenge prizes of up to $20,000 worth of Filecoin (FIL). Learn more at https://events.protocol.ai/2021/browsers3000.
Like all IPFS Community events, Browsers 3000 expects all speakers and participants to follow the IPFS Community Code of Conduct (https://github.com/ipfs/community/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md).
A
Hi
folks
excited
to
be
kicking
off
this
event.
Dito
has
a
good
friend
of
mine.
We
met
a
while
back
in
portland
and
I'm
just
gonna
live
dangerously
and
jump
right
into
demos.
So
why
do
we
start
puma
and
why?
Why
are
we
building
puma
if
you
missed
our
screen
sharing
at
one
point
a
few
years
ago,
I
noticed
that
if
you
go
in
safari
to
let's
say
apple.com
and
you
request
a
desktop
website,
you're
gonna
get
the
same
website
it's
pretty
annoying
and
in
puma.
A
A
I
look
for
from
a
lens
of
developers
and
how
can
we
build
more
fun
things
and
how
can
we
enable
more
people
to
be
more
productive
and
I
got
to
know
about
bitcoin
early
on
in
2012
and
then
back
into
ecosystem
in
2017-18,
through
a
host
of
events
hosted
by
folks
at
the
ethereum
conferences
at
east
san
francisco's,
for
a
lot
of
the
biggest
fun
events
where
it
was
so
nice
to
get
to
know
the
community
and
see
what
people
are
building
and
the
one
thing
that
that
always
struck
me
is
that
at
the
time
very
few
people
were
talking
about
interoperability.
A
At
the
time,
very
few
people
were
talking
about
bringing
different
crypto
communities
together
and
parallel
to
that,
there
was
a
lot
of
conversation
on
privacy
online.
How
do
you
make
a
living
online
and
so
to
me,
all
those
things
came
nicely
together
in
a
very
simple
idea:
let's
build
a
browser
that
one
is
truly
customer
focused
historically,
most
of
the
online
content
and
browsers
are
monetized
through
advertising
or
advertising
business
model
and
in
the
web
3
world.
In
this
new
world
of
peer-to-peer
sharing
economy.
A
I
think
we
have
an
opportunity
to
build
a
much
better
business
model
where
people
are
paying
for
content
or
apps
or
services
and
earning
nice
living
doing
so,
and
then
the
second
one
was.
Can
we
make
a
lot
of
crypto
projects
and
web3
projects
really
easy
to
use
natively
in
the
browser,
and
can
we
have
the
browser
that
is
private
by
design
private
by
design
of
the
business
model?
A
Where
we
focus
on
you
and
our
goal
is
to
make
it
easy
for
you
to
use
either
micropayments
or
some
of
the
other
projects
that
I'll
demo
in
a
second,
and
that
seems
like
a
much
nicer
business
model
for
for
long
term
and
then
it's
also
just
an
experiment.
I'm
a
developer.
A
lot
of
people
think
this
conference
have
developers,
and
so
just
like
the
desktop
website
view
at
the
time.
A
Also
two
years
ago,
when
we
started
dark
themes
were
not
the
default,
and
so
we
were
one
of
the
first
browsers
to
have
dark
theme
by
default.
Now
everybody
has
it
and
we're
kind
of
getting
tired
of
it.
But
it's
really
exciting
to
experiment
browsers
your
window
into
the
internet
and
we
think
it's
a
really
important
project
and
we're
excited
to
one
see
a
lot
of
talks
later
today
from
folks
from
different
projects
and
two.
Let
me
demo
a
few
things.
A
So,
first
of
all,
everything
about
puma
you
can
find
out
at
pumabrowser.com
the
project
that
was
foundational
to
making
micropayments
happen
and
making
interoperability
happen
in
our
case
is
interledger.
You
can
find
it
at
interledger.org
and
one
of
the
applications
of
intro
ledger
protocol
is
web
monetization.
A
It's
a
simple
javascript
api
that
allows
you
to
stream
packets
of
payments
to
a
website
and
for
a
website
to
react
to
those
payments
and
uchi
later
today
is
going
to
do
a
deeper
presentation
about
it.
A
But
to
me
the
the
really
exciting
part
of
it
is
that
when
you
have
a
account
and
a
balance
in
the
browser
in
case
of
us,
it's
a
coil
partnership
where
you
sign
up
for
a
subscription,
you
get
to
see
and
you
go
to
a
website.
A
You
get
to
see
this
flow
of
events
coming
into
the
site
and
it's
a
really
simple
javascript
api,
which
is
very
welcome
to
web
developers,
and
so
we're
really
excited
to
see
what
you'll
build
with
it
and
in
response
to
this
different
sites
can
choose
to
react
differently.
There's
a
game
called
sushi
party
that
will
show
you
no
ads,
while
you're
playing
a
game
if
you're
a
pain
customer,
and
it
will
show
you
ads
if
you
prefer
a
free
experience.
A
Flight
escape
is
another
fun
game
and
then
one
of
the
really
fun
features
is
that
you
can
have
a
paywall
unlock
automatically
for
you
once
you're
reading
a
site-
and
this
is
a
demo
post
to
make
it
really
short
because
oftentimes
when
you
scroll
down
really
fast,
you
want
to
be
able
to
even
see
the
unlocking
animation,
but
that's
all
it
takes
for
a
site
to
recognize
that
hey,
you
are
actually
a
painting
subscriber
and
we've
got
a
lot
of
content
for
you
without
ads
without
any
tracking.
A
I
think
this
is
a
really
powerful
method
and
then
another
thing
that
tijuana
later
today
is
going
to
talk
about,
is
handshake
and
as
an
alternative
to
tlds,
and
we
are
the
first
browser
to
natively
support
handshake
today,
it's
all
down
through
gateways
for
working
on
making
a
native
resolution
through
having
a
light
client
in
the
browser,
but
today
it
goes
through
gateways,
but
this
allows
you
to
have
a
top-level
domain
like
this,
where
you
can
just
have
t-shun
or
casey
is
one
of
the
community
members
or
nicole
is
one
of
the
early
community
members.
A
So
it's
really
nice
to
have
your
own
domain
like
that,
and
you
can
have
a
lot
of
fun
with
it.
There's
one
project
called
phoning,
your
handshake,
which
has
a
flamingo
handshake
as
their
tld,
which
I
think
is
super
fun
and
really
exciting.
We
also
have
a
preview
of
ems
starting
to
work
in
the
browser.
A
Last
but
not
least,
from
the
demo
part.
Well,
obviously,
hackathon
2
3000
really
excited
to
be
part
of
it
really
excited
to
see
what
you
build.
Please
reach
out
and
discord.
A
Not
all
the
features
are
supported,
but
it's
really
exciting
to
start
supporting
ipfs
natively
in
puma
and
today
you
can
select
your
favorite
gateways
here.
So
in
the
settings
you
have
a
list
of
all
the
gateways
and
earlier
earlier
today,
some
of
the
things
weren't
working
but
depending
on
different
gateways.
Sometimes
it
takes
a
little
bit
more
time
to
resolve
certain
addresses
and
we're
really
excited
to
launch
this
and
be
part
of
the
secret
system.
We're
just
getting
started.
A
We're
a
very
small
team,
we're
remote
first
and
our
goals
are
to
bring
support
for
all
the
great
web
3
projects
natively
in
the
browser.
And
how
can
we
onboard
the
next
billion
people
to
this
great
peer-to-peer
sharing
economy
rather
than
the
business
model
of
ads
and
tracking?
Thank
you
so
much
and
I
hope
you
enjoyed
the
rest
of
the
conference.
Oh
sorry,
heck
on
and
join
us
on
this
journey.
Thank.
