Description

Presentation by Zixuan Liu, a GSoC 2020 studnet in the Jenkins organization. The main aim of the project is to consolidate Apps and Addons inside Jenkins X to avoid confusion. We will do everything as an App and deprecate the use of the word Addon then migrate Addons to Apps via Helm chart, the Apps will includes system charts like Knative, Gloo, Istio, flagger, Prometheus and more, so only using the Apps framework to extend Jenkins X platform is the best solution at present.

Talk abstract: In this presentation, I will introduce the background of the project, as well as the solutions, and demonstrate the Apps I made.

Google samurai code is a greater opportunity. For me, jenkins has a very good team for mentors. I learned a lot about kubernetes how and how jenkins x works. Bigger, bigger, I application, like drinks, are a bigger challenge for me. I'm very grateful to kara.

Thank you is ron for your demo and presentation just want to say that it's been an absolute pleasure working with iran throughout this summer. It's been really engaged, um mentee and jenkins. X is a very large. It has a very large code base. It is a complex project and one was fantastic about. You know getting right in there starting to learn the code base. Learn the projects understand what he needed to do to convert add-ons to apps and start making pr's right away, so he's been zone has done a fantastic job.

All summer been a pleasure to communicate with to work with. Despite you know, differences in time zones and I'm very very impressed with what zohan has done all summer, and I've really enjoyed the experience of being able to mentor and help organize.
