Description
Jenkins Infrastructure Project Meeting - 2020-02-18
Notes - http://bit.ly/2T0oZ9v
A
Cords
so
hi
everybody
welcome
to
the
Jenkins
infra
meeting.
We
have
few
things
that
we
have
to
discuss
now.
So,
let's
start
with
the
infrastructure
and
infrastructure
sponsoring
so
fitting
up
under
first
from
a
national
point
of
view,
we
try
to
reduce
the
bill
from
we
try
to
be
under
10k
per
month
right
now.
We
should
be
working
fine,
so
we
were
able
to
be
below
8
K
for
this
month,
so
I
hope
we'll
be
able
to
to
stabilize
the
cost.
But
basically
what
we
did
is
we
deleted
few
non
critical
services.
A
We
reduce
the
number
of
machine
that
we
can
provision
and
see
either
changes
at
I/o
at
the
same
time.
So
it
should
not
really,
you
know
impact
see
either
Jenkins
at
I/o,
but
it
will
just
allow
us
to
better
control
how
many
machines
we
deploy,
and
so
we
just
spread
the
loads
from
a
national
point
of
view
that
at
least
one
service
that
that
would
like
to
validate
is
the
Evergreen
database.
Do
we
need
to
keep
it
I
mean?
Do
we
need
to
keep
a
backup
as
it
you
know?
Can
we
just
delete
it?
A
I
just
wanted
to
be
sure,
because
I
was
working
today
in
the
terraform,
our
codes,
and
now
everything
is
ready
to
remove.
So
that's
regarding
evergreen,
otherwise,
regarding
the
Amazon
sponsoring,
so
I
had
few
meetings
with
a
magazine
last
week
and
we
are
in
good
progress.
So
the
contact
that
we
have
at
Amazon
sent
the
requests.
So
I
should
receive
a
response
within
10
days,
but
normally
we
should
be
everything
should
be
approve
and
normally
we
should
be
sponsored
up
to
10k
per
month
and
for
one
year,
so
the
contract
will
end
in
one
year.
A
So
that's
part,
that's
regarding
the
budgets
from
a
managing
management
point
of
view.
The
accounts,
the
Amazon
account
that
we
are
using
is
one
account
provided
by
Jesus,
which
was
a
temporary
account
provided
by
clemmy's
and
it
becomes
a
non
permanent
and
then
temporary
accounts.
So
we
have
to
meet
rates
from
cut
these
to
the
CDF
in
order
to
allow
more
people
to
access
it.
So
we
discuss
with
Amazon
and
we
realize
that
it
would
be
faster
to
just
approve
the
budget
and
then
work
under
my
creation
of
that
accounts
from
cadby's
to
CAF.
A
The
plan
would
be
at
least
the
plan
will
be
to
me
to
move
as
much
as
possible
means
that
our
workload
from
assure
to
Amazon
so
yeah
I
have
to
send
an
email
about
that
in
the
coming
days.
I'm
just
I
just
waiting
to
to
have
a
confirmation
that
disapprove
and
that
I
have
that
widget
that
comes
before
I
started
working
and
I'm
from
the
Amazon
parts.
Do
you
have
any
question
until
now
nope?
B
A
To
caper
months
we
had
testing
another
system
to
be
displaced
err
which
also
cost
us
to
guess
so.
I
deleted
that
cluster
beginning
of
the
week
or
end
of
last
week.
I,
don't
remember,
but
yeah,
that's
one
of
the
things
so
basically
I
just
review
all
the
services
and
try
to
delete
only
thing
that
don't
use
yep
so.
B
A
Yes,
and
so
yes-
and
no,
the
thing
is
right:
now
we
have,
we
have
to
be
below
10k,
but
you
have
the
Amazon
icon.
That
cost
us
five
game.
We
have
our
account
registers
8k
right
now
and
we
will
still
have
a
machine
in
Rackspace,
so
we
still
have
some
work
to
do
another
two
units
of
the
infrastructure,
but
yeah
we
are
making
progress.
Basically,
we
had,
we
have
an
agreement
with
the
CDF,
so
the
CDF
approved
to
reimburse
the
budget
up
to
20
K
per
month
until
April.
So
this
is
so
we
have.
A
We
discover
last
week
that
apparently
Tyler
forgot
that
you
sign
a
contract
with
fastly
sorry
years
ago,
and
so
now
you
have
to
revoke
that
contract
and
create
a
new
one.
So
yeah
I
mean
the
procedure
with
five
people
to
find
a
good
solution
there.
Normally
the
contract,
for
there
is
one
its
renew
every
month.
A
So
that's
regarding
the
infrastructure
I'm
regarding
the
work
up
that
there
was
something
and
see
I
didn't,
say:
young.
There
are
few
things
that
were
Tim
Tim
helped
loads.
So
he
started
working
on
creating
virtual
machine
for
accessibility
using
Packer
to
create
small
virtual
machine.
So
we
don't
have
to
install
all
the
packages
when
we
create
a
new
when
you
provision
new
machine.
So
almost
everything
is
there.
A
We
have
now
to
configure
yeah
the
Jenkins
at
I/o
to
use
that's
and
to
generate
those
images,
considering
that
we
will
have
some
widget
from
Amazon
I
not
planning
to
spend
a
lot
of
time
on
Sierra
Jenkins
that
I
do
to
improve
it
as
I
want
to
be
sure
that
first
we
have
the
widgets
how
much
how
much
money!
We
have.
Sorry.
Sorry,
that's
sorry
about
that.
A
So
yeah,
so
I'm
not
planning
to
spend
a
lot
of
time
and
see
either
Jenkins
that
I
own.
Do
you
need
any
work
that
is
useful
and
Tim
also
started
working
on
that
which
is
writing
a
configure
config
as
codes
a
label
file
this
yet
agentive
that
I
do
configuration.
The
other
thing
is,
he
did
not
configure
assure
resources,
because,
right
now
we
are
not
sure
if
we'll
keep
using
Azure
and
for
how
long
it
will
give
a
sure.
A
So
that's
the
thing
that
you
have
to
figure
out
otherwise
and
any
question
regarding
CID
changes
at
I/o.
A
Nope
so
I
have
one
two
two
two
last
topic,
which
is
Michael
Jenkins
at
I/o.
This
is
the
way
we
distribute
packages.
As
you
may
noticed.
We
had
several
issues
and
they
come
in
the
past
days.
Why?
Normally,
as
far
as
I
can
tell,
there
are
some
Apache
workers
that
only
King,
so
they
are
just
there
and
do
nothing.
A
And
then,
when
someone
tried
to
establish
a
connection
with
package
objectives
at
I/o,
other
person
need
to
wait
quite
a
bit
of
time
before
receiving
the
packages,
and
so
we
had
to
restart
apache
in
order
to
everything
to
be
back
to
normal
and
who,
at
least
upon
every
few
months
now
it
start
to
be
opening
every
few
days.
So
if
we
don't
have,
if
we
have,
if
you
have
the
fastly
account
and
then
we
can
just
distribute
the
packages
from
fastly,
it
would
be
perfect.
Otherwise
we
will
have.
A
So
that's
something
that
we
have
to
keep
in
mind
and
otherwise
the
last
epical
I
want
to
mention.
We
had
a
discussion
regarding:
do
we
use
JIRA
or
github
issues
for
the
Jenkins
project
and
for
the
trinkets
posting
so
basically
started
with
teams
are
asking
if
we
can
use
it
for
the
hosting
project
and
it
evolved
to
them?
What
should
we
do
with
JIRA?
A
So
there
is
a
nice
thread
about
that
on
the
waiting
list,
so
I
already
invite
you
to
have
a
look
at
to
it
and
to
contribute,
while
I
do
not
expect
to
have
a
clear.
A
final
decision
now
I'm
just
very
happy
that
we
started
the
discussion.
So
we
have
a
few
months
before
we
have
to
find
an
issues,
but
meanwhile,
I
asked
Atlassian
to
renew
the
jerilyn
license.
Something
I
have
to
do
become
this
as
well
I'm,
just
waiting
for
KK
to
approve
the
access,
that's
pretty
old
for
me.
C
Was
just
gonna
say
so:
I've
been
testing
a
windows-based,
a
CIA
agent,
so
it
requires
less.
Resources
requires
less
money
on
Azure,
so
it's
windows,
a
no
server
image
with
I've
tested,
the
JDK
8
version,
I
haven't
tested,
JDK,
11
version,
but
it's
running.
It
ends
up
fairly
quickly,
not
as
fast
the
Linux
docker
or
the
Linux
a
CIA
agents.
But
it's
something
that
we
could
hopefully
have
people
start
testing
to
reduce
the
number
of
VMS
that
we
need
for
the
CIO
Jenkins
to
do
so.
D
C
So
right
now
you
can
actually
enable
this
feature
already.
If
you
change
your
Jenkins
file
to
pass
in
force
a
CI
true
as
a
parameter,
it
will
pick
up
and
try
and
use
the
or
it
will
use
the
the
Linux,
a
CIA
agent
and
the
windows,
a
CIA
agent
for
the
builds.
So
people
can
start
testing
this
now
I,
just
didn't
it
in
a
branch
for
one
of
my
plugins
just
to
kind
of
test
it
and
see
how
it
was
going.
C
A
C
A
B
So
we
have
two
frameworks:
we
use
across
strings
Paganica
system.
One
is
docker
fixtures
which
is
packaging.
This
test,
harness
I,
mean
I,
have
containers
in
some
plugins
and
we
will
need
to
provide
opt-out
way
for
those
who
use
of
these
components
or
maybe
we
need
to
design
building
a
bit
to
run
on
the
dock,
specific
and
validation
tests
on
such
agents.
A
C
C
In
and
change
that
my
Jenkins
file
to
have
more
say
CI,
is
it
true
and
I
can
send
out
the
plug
and
I
did
that
on?
It's
not
hard
to
do,
but
I
can
send
out
that
information
and
then
I
just
ran
some
builds.
You
know
made
some
changes
in
that
branch
and
made
sure
things
were
running
and
it
launched
the
agent
correctly
and
things
like
that.
Okay,.
B
F
G
My
PR
so
far,
but
in
my
floor
I
mean
against
the
Jenkins
docker
repository
I
was
kind
of
a
rebuild
the
bill
pipeline.
So
instead
of
having
one
script,
that
kind
of
drives
the
building
of
these
images,
we
switch
to
a
kind
of
parallel
parallel
builds,
which
is
gonna
save
time
and
also
when
one
of
the
things
that
put
in
the
mailing
list
I
talked
about
is
when
security
patches
happen.
You
can
just
build
that
specific
variant.
G
So,
if
Debian
has
a
security
issue,
then
through
his
pipeline
I
could
just
patch
Debian
there's
a
couple
other
improvements,
I
made.
Quite
one
of
the
big
changes
in
terms
of
infrastructure
is
getting
off
the
use
of
queue,
the
emulator
and
building
on
print
billing
on
architecture
platform.
Whatever
you
want
to
call
it,
and
I
mentioned
this
to
mark
a
couple
of
times.
G
Ibm
is
willing
to
offer
up
some
s3
90s
of
the
resources
and
also
power
resources
to
you
guys,
I
mean
there's
a
couple
different
options
to
acquire
those
and
pull
it
into
you,
guys's
kind
of
infrastructure,
one
the
easiest,
probably
for
you,
depending
on
how
everything
is
set
up.
Is
we
can
just
give
you
naked
vm's,
where
you
guys
could
install
agents
or
pull
it
in
or,
however,
you
want?
So
that's
basically
one
things
needed
for
this
PR
to
kind
of
go
forwards
and
obviously
you
guys
have
x86
resources.
I
think
Mark
mentioned
I.
G
B
G
So
this
is
a
big
change
and
I
love
people
to
at
least
give
me
some
feedback
or
to
work
with
me
on
getting
it
going,
and
one
thing
to
add
really
important
is
I
didn't
touch
any
of
the
main
build
pipeline
scripts,
so
you
know
pushing
to
the
official
Jenkins
repository.
Oh,
you
have
I,
didn't
really
touch
any
of
the
unofficial
ones.
Either
all
these
additions
I
made
or
basic
just
that
additions,
so
it
wouldn't
affect
anything.
A
So,
first
from
from
the
so
first
regarding
the
infrastructure
that
you
are
willing
to
prefer
to
offer,
I
mean
definitely
at
that,
as
you
stood.
There
is
really
the
environment
that
that
I've
been
working
for
the
past
few
years
and
it's
almost
released
so
I
would
be
really
happy
to
test
that
on
that,
but
that
testing
environment
so
so
I
mean
we
have
a
way
to
learn
a
little
bit
more
about
that.
If
we
can
work
on
a
way
to
to
just
the
credentials
there,
you
can
move
forward.
A
That
would
be
nice
and
regarding
the
process,
I
think
the
thing
is
I
would
would
prefer
to
work
with
you
in
order
to
bring
that
in
the
new
release
environment,
but
otherwise
we
can
also
configure
the
current.
So
we
have
so
basically
what
we
have
right
now
is
we
use
the
other
jetty
that
I
you
to
test
as
much
as
we
can,
and
then
we
have
a
second
machines
called
first
that
CI,
which
is
hidden
inside
Amazon
networks,
and
so
there
that
machine
is
we
configure
with
all
the
secrets.
A
G
It
might
take
a
week
or
two
to
get
the
resources,
but
it
should
be
fairly
easy
to
get
power
and
s/390
for
you
guys
they
have.
We
have
a
couple
like
public
offerings
in
terms
of
like
I,
think
Oregon
State
University
hosts
is
like
their
Jenkins
build
pipeline,
but
since
I
mean
you
guys,
pipelines
kind
of
complex
in
terms
of
what
you
guys
are
doing,
probably
just
a
native
VM
would
probably
be
better
to
pull
in
everything.
For
you
guys
at.
G
B
A
question
about
many
trees,
I'm
trying
to
analyze
the
plus.
Today
we
had
a
discussion
about
the
communication
sick.
My
dentist
was
before
we
had
discussions
about
whatever
both
related
emergencies,
so
I
had
a
question.
What
would
be
the
best
way
to
process
with
all
these
stories,
because
they're
quite
easily
did
from
the
rest
of
the
infrastructure,
but.
B
A
D
B
A
A
So
for
all
min
man
thing
I
need
to
do
is
just
switch
them
in
read-only,
the
only
one
that
I
did
not
switch
in
read-only
immediately,
which
is
Easter
Jenkins
if
remaining
list,
because
I
just
want
to
be
sure
that
people
can
finish
the
threads
that
we
started
there,
but
otherwise
I
will
have
to
switch
it
in
read-only.
Regarding
the
the
google
group,
mailing
list
is
a
little
bit
more
complicated
because
everybody
can
create
Google
Groups.
A
There
is
no
central
identity
right
now,
so,
for
example,
I
created,
judge,
Jenkins
in
front
very
missed,
but
I'm
an
MD
I'm,
an
owner,
I
think
on
the
dev
meeting
this
as
well.
But
the
thing
is
it's
always
who
created
the
my
name
is
first
and
then
we
have
to
find
the
right
person
to
do
the
work
there.
So,
regarding.
F
A
G
A
See
and
so
yeah
and
we
have
no
plan
to
move
to
get
ur
or
not
or
something
else.
So,
while
while
ours
is
not
perfect
at
the
moment,
that's
what
you
are
using
so
I
can
regarding
the
mailing
list
yeah,
if
I
like
he
can
try
to
find
that
and
who
sent
the
first
email.
Otherwise
I
can.
I
can
also
evolution,
but
from
my
to
me
I
think
I
only
have
access
so
that's
what
I'm,
looking
I
only
have
access
to
the
devs
mailing
list
and
inframan
list.
