From YouTube: IPython/Jupyter Dev Meeting May 24, 2016
Description
Meeting of the IPython/Jupyter development team.
A
All
right,
good
morning,
good
afternoon,
this
is
a
may
twenty.
Fourth
at
Jupiter
def,
meeting
I'm
Jamie
and
as
the
project
manager
for
Jupiter
I've
been
working
on
a
number
of
things,
namely
working
on
steps
in
the
hiring
process,
for
our
postdocs
looks
like
Mike
pacer
will
come
online
sometime
in
early
June
I've
also
been
working
on
together,
a
statement
of
work
working
with
Carol
to
put
out
a
request
for
proposal
for
a
tech
writer
and
we've
been
working
through
some
of
the
language
in
that
statement
of
work.
A
A
C
A
D
Team
and
I
have
been
focusing
on
the
dashboards
work,
we're
trying
to
get
it
to
a
point
where
we
can
put
in
the
enhancement
proposal
to
graduate
the
incubator.
Think
the
next
release
is
probably
where
we're
gonna
start
thinking
about
their
drafting
it.
So
people
could
start
commenting
kind
of
important
things.
I
think
might
involve
questions.
D
Other
people
I,
don't
know
if
sylvans
on,
but
one
of
my
teammates
javi
er
petta
Monta
actually
fixed
that
a
crazy,
a
sink
I
pie,
widgets
bug
that
got
introducing
some
recent
release,
50
I,
think
and
mostly
just
looking
to
see
if
something
can
cut
a
new
patch
release
with
defects,
because
it's
actually
impacting
us
in
the
dashboards,
work
and
I
think
it's.
D
It
might
also
be
the
cause
or
part
of
the
cause
of
custom
widgets,
not
working
in
the
dope
book
now
too,
but
I
don't
like
sylvans
here,
so
I'll
try
to
get
with
him.
I
get
her
or
something
like
that,
and
the
only
other
thing.
Besides
what
I
wrote
there
and
the
hack
pad
was,
I
saw
there
was
a
new
incubator
project.
I
was
wondering
if
anyone
has
any
information
on
that,
I
didn't
see
a
proposal.
So
I
was
just
curious.
You
know
what
it
is.
E
A
C
D
A
C
A
So
I
I
can
follow
over
Brian
and
I
hope
that
have
been
created
for
the
rest
of
the
team.
What
that
is,
and
I'll
also
make
those
nuts
and
github
so
it's
clear
and
then
it
you
know
our
development
documentation
make
sure
that
the
right
process
is
followed.
So
we
all
know
what
it
is
sure.
D
F
Been
working
with
Jason
on
the
refactor
of
how
models
and
kernels
are
handled
in
Jupiter
lab
we're
going
to
discuss
the
status
of
that
after
this
meeting
were
a
decent
hour,
both
out
last
Friday.
So
mr.
Jupiter
lab
meeting
I
know
it's
postponed,
so
any
comments
on
that
PRI
Luther
welcome
and
if
anyone
wants
to
join,
our
discussion
will
be
on
up.
Here
too,
I
am
so
stupid
or
afterwards.
C
C
Source
of
a
new
study
is
trade,
let's
same
time,
because
I
five-on-five
will
rely
on
weekends
and
so
still
three
critical
personal
book
for
Jews,
like
that
song
has
to
fix,
which
are
still
mostly
the
same
thing,
which
is
a
great
fighter
and
a
web
pack
that
has
space
and
also,
if
you
have
a
broken
garage
to
guess,
which
happened
to
to
fix
that,
because
a
lot
of
people
are
on
all
four
to
align
series
that
they
don't
complain
that
much
I
mean
the
fists.
There
are
critical
fixes
for
fabulous
bowler.
C
A
C
Depends
on
which
project
I'm
like
most
of
the
project,
I've
defiant,
core
and
the
target
on
etsy?
You
don't
really
need
to
do
that,
because
you
just
knew
you
version.
Two
things
about
a
Titan
is
more
like
a
user
facing.
So
if
you
like
hopes
to
have
something
which
is
like
you're
involved
until
we're
right
back
in.
C
A
A
C
A
H
Other
buddy,
it's
there,
the
I
think
we've
actually
got
the
date
now
for
Jupiter
day
Atlanta
obvious
13.
We
have
a
little
going
on
august
as
well.
It's
not
the
pull.
If
you
catch
be
working
with
out
on
that,
but
if
she's
been
on
the
road,
so
we're
going
to
start
Natalie
as
we
can
needed
for
that
and
then
you
know
anybody
thinks
they
might
be
in
the
area.
We
don't
have
to
have
everybody
from
quantum
available
through
a
workshop
to
talk.
H
We
haven't
said
a
key
again
or
anybody
like
that,
but
I've
got
really
good
community
service,
which
we
did
there's
the
ongoing
discussion
of
how
to
start
moving
gone
for.
You
has
been
two
minute:
honda,
I'm
in
the
works
for
them
to
appear
in
catalytic
hopes
of
all
wait
in
there.
No,
you
know
it's
pretty
interesting.
A
H
H
Tested
and
and
packaged
on,
a
bunch
of
different
architectures,
instead
of
just
the
one,
now
try
to
see
I
or
something
like
that
and
related
to
kind
of
forage.
We
just
as
a
thing
to
start
learning
about
it
now
cookie
cutter,
which
is
kind
of
the
Python
equivalent
sort
of
yeoman
for
doing
packages
or
skeletons
and
packages,
and
it's
worth
checking
out.
First
one:
would
you
cook
it
comes
pretty
good
and
will
probably
want
to
do
some
other
ones
for
like
here's,
a
server
extension
and
use
that
other
kind
of
in
the
extension
whatever.
H
Then
there
was
just
that
ongoing
discussion
on
the
extension
proposal
bought
layout
metadata
that
Peter
stared
up
at
the
club
meeting
and
I
think
we'd
kind
of
agreed
that
there
really
isn't
anything
necessarily
on
layouts
that
we're
going
to
be
doing.
But
back
to
the
story
of
you
know,
what
does
metadata
mean
happily
make
metadata
mean.
Make
notebooks
need
more
with
metadata.
Totally
is
interested
in
things
like
that.
That's
what's
going
on
with
that
sort
of
saga
discussion
there!
That's
it
for
me.
I
G
I
wasn't
talking
so
the
big
thing
I
think
I
would
bring
to.
The
group
is
just
please
give
Darian
feedback
and,
and
Steve
and
I'll
be
getting
the
Jupiter
lab
notebook
up
and
running
I.
We
need
feedback,
so
if
you
can
I
have
a
server
extension
that
makes
it
very
easy
to
install
Jupiter
lamp
to
give
feedback
I'm
happy
to
send
out
instructions
for
that
to
the
to
the
dev
group
here,
but
we
just
need
feedback
about
the
console
about
the
notebook,
etc.
I.
G
G
C
G
Anyway,
I'll
post
a
link
I'll
make
the
server
extension
post
a
link
to
it.
Actually,
it's
so
darien.
I
guess
we
have
to
get
your
stuff
into
Jupiter,
JS,
plugins,
first
right
right
now,
it's
in
just
it
in
the
notebook
repo,
okay,
so
we'll
get.
This
will
get
the
Jupiter,
j/s,
plugins,
updated
and
then
I'll
post.
The
server
extension,
at
least
for
the
devs
here
to
install
and
give
us
some
feedback
on
on
the
console
and
and
the
notebook
specifically.
G
You
everyone
Brian
in
particular
Fernando
Peter
I,
mean
everyone
here
is
I.
Think
would
give
good
feedback
from
a
variety
of
use
cases.
So,
oh
yeah
and
and
just
realize
it's
it.
You
know,
definitely
still
a
work
in
progress
and
very
alpha
level
and
stuff
like
that,
but
feedback
as
far
as
Darien's
decisions,
as
far
as
tooltips
he's
been
asking
for
feedback
will
have
some
feedback
about
sort
of
document
manager
design.
G
If
you
want
to
go
into
the
code
or
just
standard
installing
and
seeing
what
you
think:
okay,
so
I'll
post
when
we
get
that
interpreter
jazz,
plugins
I'll
post,
a
link
in
these
notes-
or
maybe
it'll,
be
next
friday
and
I'll
just
mention
the
dev
maytera
next
month.
Next
tuesday
and
I'm
is
generally
definite
again.
G
B
Yeah
sorry
I
was
muted
yeah
and
not
much
on
my
side.
Besides,
there
is
one
liked
clan
visible
thing:
I
did
this
week,
which
is
to
make
a
comprehensive
tutorial
on
how
to
layout
widgets
in
reactive
layout,
using
flexbox
layout
attributes
so
that
you
can
do
things
like
forums
or
even
dashboards
using
nested
flexbox
widgets.
A
A
G
I'm
planning
on
it
again.
The
purpose
for
the
Jupiter
lab
meeting
is
to
hook
and
not
just
the
people,
work
and
super
lab,
because
we
have
communication
quite
often
between
ourselves
but
difficult
community,
so
Brian
Matias,
you
know
Peter,
etc.
Welcome
to
join.
That's
the
purpose
for
the
meeting
is
to
to
be
available
for
you
guys
and
to
connect
with
you
guys
about
the
progress
yeah.
