The amount of prescription drugs has increased since the Covid-19 pandemic. The Pledge for Life Partnership aims to continue their mission of keeping prescription drugs safe in the home.

The pledge for life partnership was established in 1989, and it's made up of different individuals from our community with the main goal of piecing together a safer and healthier community. The pledge for life partnership has helped over ten thousand youth annually to choose healthy lifestyle choices. In particular, the life education center works very hard to promote safe medication practices. Our.

Coalition has partnered with local law enforcement takes part in dea drug take back day two times a year. The pledge for life partnership also provides brochures to the community regarding information about local drop boxes throughout kankakee county. This is an ongoing initiative that we are continually working on.

Funding will allow us another way to combat prescription drug misuse in our community. That's the pledge for life's mission to piece together a safer and healthier community. The lock boxes would be a big piece to that puzzle. Locking up or securing your prescription drugs could be the single most effective way to prevent poisonings resulting in overdose medicine theft, misuse that could lead to prescription drug addiction or suicide due to elevated adverse mental health conditions associated with coven 19 there's been a large increase.

We've seen a large increase in prescribed medications for numerous conditions, such as anxiety disorders and depressive disorders, compared to numbers that we saw like pre-covet 19. having more medications than ever before in the home is reason enough to support the prescription lock box initiative.
