A
Knuckleheads
in
Kansas
City's
East
crossroads
is
best
known
as
a
live
music
venue
that
showcases
local
performers,
as
well
as
performers
from
across
the
country
and
even
around
the
world,
but
on
May
14th.
It
is
the
start
and
stop
point
for
bike:
walk
KC
s,
Tour
de
beer,
which
is
supported
by
the
neighborhood
Tourist
Development
Fund,
and
here
to
tell
us
all
about
bike.
Walk
KC
and
Tour
de
beer
are
Karen,
Campbell
and
danisha
smell
Karen
and
danisha.
Thank
you
for
being
here
today.
A
Campbell,
you
are
the
director
of
development
and
communications
and
before
you
even
started
working
for
bike,
walk
KC.
You
found
out
about
the
organization
through
toward
a
beer,
so
I
can't
think
of
a
better
person
to
ask
to
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
bike,
walk
KC
and
about
what
will
happen
on
May,
14
sure.
B
Well,
bike:
walk,
KC
is
Kansas,
City's,
bicycle
and
pedestrian
advocacy
organization.
We
work
across
a
lot
of
different
areas,
including
obviously
advocacy
but
also
education
in
the
local
schools,
and
then
events
like
Tour
de
beer
that
bring
people
together
around
bicycling,
the
Tour
de
beer.
As
you
said,
Sunday
May
14th
will
have
three
different
routes
that
will
explore
areas
all
around
the
city
and
it's
a
great
way
to
see.
Kansas
City's
brewing
history
with
the
fun
and
health
of
a
bike.
Well,.
B
It
was
a
great
way
to
get
people
to
see
the
city
in
a
way
they
might
not
be
able
to
in
their
car
or
even
on
foot
and
explore.
Not
just
the
current
great
brewing
that
we
have
here
in
Kansas
City,
but
also
Kansas
City's,
rich
brewing
history,
which
takes
place
all
around
the
city,
including
we'll
go
through
the
crossroads.
The
West
Bottoms
will
explore
Brookside,
while
the
West
port
will
travel
the
whole
city
by
bike
that
day,
we
break
it
and
you.
A
B
A
B
We're
expecting
about
800
riders,
it's
one
of
the
largest
group
rides
in
Kansas
City
and
we
think
about
30
percent
of
those
riders
will
be
from
outside
of
the
KC
Metro,
not
just
locally,
but
also
from
other
states
like
Wisconsin,
California
and
New
York
City.
So
we're
excited
to
welcome
those
people
in
this
great
town,
wonderful,.
A
And
danisha
you
not
only
work
for
the
Kansas
City
Health
Department,
but
you
are
a
volunteer
for
bike,
walk
KC
and
then
you
also
have
participated
in
ride.
So
the
you
know
firsthand
how
bike
walk
or
bike
rides
like
Tour
de
beer
kind
of
go
hand
in
hand
with
what
the
health
department
is
trying
to
do.
Can
you
talk
a
little
bit
more
about.
C
That
definitely
will
may
is
Bike
Month
and
so
we're
so
encouraged
when
organizations
like
bike,
walk.
Kc
has
events
like
this.
What
events
do
like
like
this
Tour
de
beer
bike
ride,
do
for
the
city
is:
encourages
a
culture
of
health
within
our
city.
This
is
a
bike
ride,
that's
perfect
for
families
because
they
have
three
routes.
They
have
young
people
that
come
out
and
ride
this.
These
routes,
you
have
expanded
ages,
and
so
it
really
helps
build
that
camaraderie
in
that
culture
of
health
across
our
city,
even
across
our
region.
C
The
health
department
loves
it
when
we
are
able
to
work
with
organizations
partner
with
community
organizations.
For
events
like
this,
the
city
has
a
bike
plan.
That's
in
development
right
now,
and
we're
just
really
really
excited
about
the
work
that
the
city
is
doing
when
it
comes
to
biking
and
pedestrian.
Absolutely.
