Here
are
the
top
three
things
you
should
know
this
week.
Kansas
city
is
making
a
bid
to
bring
world
cup
soccer
to
kansas
city

Your
favorite
team
may
not
be
playing
in
the
big
show
right
now,
but
you
can
still
enjoy
some
great
baseball
at
the
neighbor
leagues.
Baseball

the
barrios
and

B
This
site
visit
is
one
of
the
final
steps
in
what
has
been
a
multi-year
process.
We
are
currently
one
of
17
cities
in
the
united
states
bidding
to
host
matches
for
the
2026
fifa
world
cup.
As
many
of
you
know,
the
fifa
world
cup
is
the
largest
single
sport
event
in
the
world.
It
is
an
incredible
opportunity
to
represent
the
best
of
kansas
city
and
our
region
on
the
international
stage.
C
If
you
can't
tell
by
the
wrap
of
the
streetcar,
this
is
a
huge
deal
for
kansas
city
next
thursday
october
21st.
We
will
have
a
committee
from
fifa
here
evaluating
kansas
city.
Folks
will
be
here
looking
at
kansas
city,
so
I
asked
for
a
few
things.
One
have
a
big
bright
smile
know
that
if
you
run
some
great
institutions,
george
make
sure
that
they're
spiffed
up
and
ready
for
everybody.
That's
coming
to
visit
us
and,
more
than
anything,
show
what
we
already
know
about
kansas
city.
C
D
Hi
kcmo:
it's
almost
that
time
time
for
the
city's
bi-annual
curbside
leaf
and
brush
collection,
central
city
residents,
those
of
you
that
live
north
of
63rd
street
to
the
missouri
river,
between
state
line
and
blue
ridge
cut-off.
Your
set
out
dates
are
november
1st
through
november
5th
southland
residents,
those
who
live
south
of
63rd
street.
Your
setout
dates
are
november
15th
through
november
19th
northland
residents.
Those
of
you
that
live
north
of
the
missouri
river,
your.
E
D
D
If
you
miss
curbside
leaf
and
brush
pick
up
on
your
scheduled
date,
you
may
go
to
one
of
our
three
drop-off
centers.
The
city's
three
leaf
and
brush
sites
are
open
six
days
a
week.
Drop-Off
is
free
for
casey
mill.
Residents
on
saturdays
with
proper
id
for
details
be
sure
to
check
out
our
website
at
kcmo.gov,
slash,
leaf
and
brush.
F
Most
american
baseball
fans
have
never
fully
grasped
that
there
are
other
parts
of
the
globe
that
has
played
this
game
for
a
long
time
too,
and
they've
played
it
well.
When
jackie
robinson
breaks
the
color
barrier
in
major
league
baseball,
he
doesn't
do
it
for
just
american-born
blacks.
He
does
it
for
every
player
of
color.
Who
now
enjoys
this
game?
Can
you
imagine
our
sport
without
roberto
clemente,
without
minnie
minoso,
without
ernie
banks,
henry
aaron
willie
mays
roy
campanella?
F
And
if
you
can,
you
can
imagine
what
it
was
like
before
1947,
because
they
didn't
learn
how
to
play
baseball
after
1947..
One
of
my
favorite
stories
as
it
relates
to
the
great
roberto
clemente
ties
him
directly
to
the
negro
leagues
through
his
affinity
for
a
negro
league's
player
named
monty
irvin,
roberto,
clemente
and
monty
irvin
are
inducted
in
the
same
hall
of
fame
class,
and
what
it
reminds
me
of
is
the
fact
that
every
hero
has
a
hero.
